James sat behind the giant mahogany desk looking over the guild records. It had been a rather long day. A raid team had screwed up a battle causing a civilian casualty. Lucky the team wasn't harmed but it still was tragic.
The door opened and Jay walked in. James's face broke into a smile.
"Hey" he said.
"How's it going" Jay peeked over his shoulder at the records.
"Could have been a lot worse." He replied.
Jay leaned down and kissed him. He smiled and returned it.
"Get some rest….." Jay was cut off by a phone ringing on the desk.
"How rude, who's calling at this hour." Jay muttered as James just wacked the speaker mode.
The caller ID read MBCIA.
"Hey" called a cheerful voice, "How is my favorite guild doing today."
"Bright" replied James. "What's up its nearly 10, I know you wouldn't call this late normally?"
"How do you feel about a hard working individual joining your guild?" Bright asked.
"Uh tell whoever it is to fill out an application." James replied.
"Yeah thing is he's well special."
"Special? How so?"
"He doesn't fit into a magic category."
"Uh Bright we are a guild, if someone cannot use majikku they would be demon food."
"He's not exactly a normal person though. I think you'd like him." Bright replied.
"Fine have whoever it is come here in the morning, but chances are we will just turn him away."
"Heheh, I don't think you will. See ya!" Brightspeed hung up.
"Aw rats I should have asked his name." muttered James, "with tomorrow's other applicants I might not even know who it is."
"He said special" said Jay, "That probably means whoever it is will stand out for better or for worse."
"Should we really take recruitment recommendations from them though?"
"If nothing else maybe it will make things more entertaining, you did say you wanted to find some promising future candidates didn't you?" Jay replied. "Come on let's get some sleep, worry about it in the morning." Jay dragged James toward the room they shared on the side of the guild hall quarters.
"You know I'm not letting you go right to sleep if you drag me away from my work like this." James stated.
Jay smirked, "That's okay." He replied pulling off his shirt as he entered the room.
