Chereads / The Aberrant Being / Chapter 36 - Planning

Chapter 36 - Planning

A building lay concealed from the gaze of society in a specific woodland. The environment was as quiet as it could be. Many dead chimaera bodies were scattered across the room, approaching a total of roughly 40 chimaera corpses.

A curved line of shadow walls faded slowly, revealing a dark indigo hue demonic-like figure walking towards two winged beings.

Leigh had completed the most difficult, yet rewarding, battle of his entire journey. Out of a horrific struggle that may have killed him, he received the bodies of numerous chimaeras and especially angels, who were simply beings of a higher level, providing greater benefits to Leigh.

Leigh peered around the camp building now that his wall of shadows was gone, noticing many dead chimaeras as well as walls that had been painted red with blood.

The chimera's eyes were dead and soulless, revealing their misery. The conflict between angels and chimaeras was clearly a one-sided carnage in favor of the angels.

After that incident, Leigh learned that angels were the polar opposite of what many people, including himself, believed; they were just as terrible and evil as humans. In simple terms, they were individuals with fewer physical and mental flaws, allowing them to be vastly superior on many levels compared to humans.

However, such knowledge was not as valuable to Leigh because he had no intention of interacting with these beings in the first place; he had his own plan and his objective was to pursue it because it seemed reasonable to him.

Leigh moved towards the two other angels he had defeated and began consuming them. If Leigh had a mouth, he would have created a nasty smile now that he was feeling an enormous amount of strength flood his body.

He had consumed two beings of his level, allowing him to gain a significant amount of power but not enough to leave the mid sub world he had just entered. After all, the years it took someone to advance to the next sub world was measured in the hundreds and thousands. So there was no way two mid-ranking angels could have sufficed for Leigh.

After devouring the angels and comprehending his power to a degree due to his heightened senses, he had more information regarding the status of his body and the changes within it after consuming the angels.

Leigh began heading towards the chimaeras, leaving the arms of the three angels with weapons in their hands alone because weapons were still unfamiliar to him and he preferred to be cautious of the unknown.

Leigh was aware that the chimaeras would most likely provide insignificant grains in comparison to the angels and his body, but he still chose to give it a shot.

He approached the chimaeras, linked his legs to their bodies, and let his grains do their job, while focusing exclusively on his grains to inspect the number of grains he receives from the chimaera.

The findings were not to his satisfaction because the amount of grains gained from the chimaeras was the same as before, but it was minuscule in comparison to the amount of grains in his body or even the angels' bodies.

It was like adding a single drop of water to a pool, which was insignificant and ineffective, whereas the angels' bodies provided something akin to a large bucket of water to the pool.

Leigh had obtained the ability to deal with anybody who had ever wronged him in his existence as a human, but he knew more than ever that seeking vengeance at that time was not the best option.

Leigh's cognitive process was influenced by two major causes. He knew he had a lot of power, enough to cause many people to suffer because of his ability to split into many pieces and fly, but he also knew that if the need to fight an army arose, he would most likely fail because even with his new resistance and speed, some bullets and other weaponry such as rockets and heavy weaponry such as tanks and attack helicopters could still damage him.

His flying mode would be useless as well because he had not yet mastered dodging in that form and just did not want to risk it.

The angels and heavens were the other cause for his decision, which was the underlying logic behind his ideas. He couldn't think that the heaven bear and angels attacking him were a coincidence because they both came for him and chased him. They also had the same vibe and atmosphere around them, implying that they were from the same place.

This caused Leigh to believe that the heavens were following him and that he would be unable to deal with them because they would send stronger warriors each time until he died. In truth, the heavens were not pursuing him directly, but his demonic presence, which violated the pact between demons and angels that no demon should cross into the human realm, but he didn't know this, which is why he thought the heavens were after him and decided to avoid humans.

As a result of what he had learnt about the hell realm from his visions, he decided to leave the human realm and forget about revenge for now. There was no mention of hell in the visions, but after waking his density alteration talent, he learned about it.

It was more as if the knowledge and inclination to understand certain concepts were within him but were locked away until he discovered his new skill.

According to his understanding, certain prerequisites must be met in order to enter the domain of hell. These ranged from determination and speed to knowledge and instinct.

But, before he could think about such things, he had to take to the sky, as that was the first step in his new adventure.

Leigh decreased the density of his body immensely and separated his grains from one another by a lot, allowing him to get off of the ground.

He then raised himself with great concentration and exited the camp, travelling through the skies for the first time ever.
