Leigh continued to travel for a long time, and the concept of time no longer mattered to him. He'd been travelling through uncharted areas for months, if not years. Time had left Leigh's grasp, leaving him unconcerned about it.
The fact was that Leigh had been travelling across the desolate lands for around 2 years, and no, time did not move faster in the underworld; it operated in the same way as it did in the heavens and human realm, but Leigh was simply unaware of the time just like every other greater demon or angel.
What is two years in the broad scheme of centuries or even millennia? Leigh was now one of those beings who could leave for hundreds of years unless he became a higher ranked entity, which would increase his life expectancy even further.
Taking all of this into account, it is actually a positive thing that Leigh has lost his sense of time; it indicates he is getting closer to a true demon and that he will not go insane as time passes because he outlives all those he despises.
All of this was a fortunate turn of events.
Leigh continued to fly after briefly resting on the ground; his painful hunger had returned, not because he needed energy, but because his body craved more strength. After all, his body is that of a demon, which does not require external resources like food or water to function.
As Leigh was travelling north, he abruptly awoke from his lifeless state because he observed a shift in the scenery.
Leigh observed a tree-like object in the distance not too far away and chose to approach it because the object was the first thing he saw in years when he had gradually lost hope. He had begun to believe that the demons had been exterminated because he had seen a battle in his previous vision.
As Leigh reached the location, he noted that the barren fields were gradually turning into what appeared to be a very similar land, but with more blue vein-like shapes in the ground and less crimson hues.
Aside from the shift in the ground, it appeared like light red grass was becoming more frequent on the ground. Even Leigh was taken aback when he realized how strangely similar it was to the concept of grass in the human realm.
As Leigh progressed toward the grasslands, he noted that the barren plains were getting less abundant, while the grasslands ratio increased to the point where it appeared that Leigh was no longer in the same biome.
Leigh kept moving ahead, towards the tree-like object he had seen from afar.
Leigh arrived at his location only to discover that what he thought was a tree was, in fact, an actual tree!!
Although what lay in front of Leigh was a tree, it was most definitely not the same as the trees known to Leigh.
The tree was the only one in the area, with no other trees or vegetation nearby. Leigh stretched his hands and touched the tree's bark, which was incredibly hard compared to wood.
The surface of the tree's bole, including the branches, was exceedingly shiny and white-gray in hue.
Leigh had never seen such a tree before, but he had his own ideas and guesses. At a younger age, he learned from the human realm that iron was a lustrous white grey metal.
Due to this knowledge, he had no choice but to acknowledge that the tree in front of him was most likely made of iron, which seemed preposterous. What made the scenario even more perplexing was that the tree had leaves, just like any other tree.
The leaves were a magnificent midnight blue tint, with sapphire blue veins. If one merely paid attention to the tree, it was nothing short of a fantasy-like sight.
Leigh reached out his left hand to touch the leaves, but instead of a normal touch, his body stretched towards a leaf and began covering it with grains before consuming it.
Leigh was taken aback and gazed at his hand, dumbfounded. He didn't know how to react; his body had shown an interest in something other than moving live beings for the first time, yet Leigh felt nothing after swallowing the plant.
As Leigh withdrew his hand, he realized that the leaf was still there, but with an altered appearance. The leaf was no longer blue or glowing; it was merely red, and as Leigh tried to investigate it by touching it again, it disintegrated into dust.
Leigh glanced at the tree, perplexed, because he had no idea what had happened at that precise instant, but he also understood that it didn't matter in the larger scheme of things. He then shifted his gaze away from the tree and its leaves and towards the tree's surroundings, which were packed with blue veins coursing through the ground beneath the light red grass.
'The tree does not fit in with its surroundings.'
Leigh had his first regular human-like thought in a long time before moving towards the direction he was travelling to before coming to a halt in front of the tree. He chose to continue in the same route because it appeared to lead somewhere other than the barren regions.
Leigh traveled for days before reaching what seemed to be a forest full of the trees he saw days ago, accompanied by the same grass, but there were also bushes around it, ranging from blue bushes with veins to bushes with the same appearance as the red leaves that looked lifeless.
As Leigh stepped into the forest and continued moving forwards as to not lose the direction he was traveling in, he noticed a movement in the bushes around 400 meters ahead of him.
He slowly and carefully approached the area where even more bushes moved around. Leigh stopped in his tracks when he saw the back of a strange glowing red beast.

Hello there, random people. I apologize for not posting for nearly a week. I was taking a break before the educational faculties reopened. From now on, I will continue to post chapters.
Any idea on what Leigh saw?
