Leigh continued to travel through the otherworldly forest for the next couple of days. No matter how deep Leigh traveled into the forest, the environment did not have much of a change as the bushes, trees and grasses remained the same.
Although, Leigh did figure out some new things about the forest. At some times, Leigh could see some hell pigs reaching the midnight blue bushes and licking them. After the pigs finished their feast, the leaves had turned empty just like when Leigh took the energy of the tree leaf previously.
From his observations, he realized that the creatures in the forest absorbed the energy within the bushes and a very small number of the tree leaves since many could not reach the trees. The leaves then turned red and would crumbled at the smallest interaction with another being.
He also believed that the veins on the forest floor and leaves were the ones that seemed to transfer energy into the leaves, although Leigh was not sure of this and only guessed it. Although the grass was never consumed even though it seemed similar to the leaves, not a single one had changed color or anything similar.
In his path, Leigh met a couple of the hell pigs which he took care of with ease due to his strength and agility simply overwhelming the creature. The hell pigs where easily massacred and added to Leigh's grains, allowing him to improve by a tiny bit.
Although Leigh eliminated many of the hell pigs, he also met two other creatures that he fought with and successfully killed. One of these creatures was a hare with a black fur. The hare's body itself was also black, including its mouth and what seemed to be its nose.
The one body part that was not black was the hare's eyes, they were a shiny white that emitted light in a way that allowed one to see the rest of the hare's dark body. It was as if the eyes were betraying the creature by allowing many creatures to notice it even though its dark colored body allowed it amazing camouflaged abilities at night.
This creature immediately pounced at Leigh, not knowing what it had gotten itself into. Leigh simply dodged the creature's pathetic attack and delivered a punch to it mid air which surprisingly caused the rabbit to explode to pieces. The beast could not even handle Leigh's beast.
On the other hand, Leigh met a wolf type beast that proved to be challenging to subjugate. The wolf was a gray creature with brown eyes, nothing special except the fact that this beast had three heads with teeth that could instill fear into the most bravest of people, including Leigh.
At first sight, Leigh was not confident in going against this beast even though no fire or weird magical looking feature was on the creature but he had no choice for the wolf attacked Leigh first.
Leigh had tried to dodge and rethink the situation with his high thinking process but failed as the wolf's agility surpassed his by a bit. This wolf was one of the first beasts that had managed to strike Leigh in a long time. The wolf bite Leigh with two of its heads causing some damage as it was not weak and its teeth's had the ability to by pass the defense of a creature in the mid sub realm of the first rank.
The truth that Leigh was not aware of was that this wolf was a mid ranking beast that had reached close to the peak of the mid sub realm. This meant that Leigh should have taken a lot of damage but that was not true since he had used his density alteration ability to increase the defense of the part the wolf tried to bite, allowing him to take less damage.
Leigh then proceeded to fight the wolf by using his shadow ability to deliver surprise attacks with his maximum strength punches that were enhanced with his density alteration ability. Even though Leigh had to strike the beast a number of times to defeat it due to its high vitality and three heads, the fight still did not take long before Leigh emerged as the victor of the battle.
Leigh then consumed the wolf and continued on his way with an expression no different than before, one that expressed his boredom and hopelessness of not finding what he was after, demons.
As Leigh continued to explore further into the forest, he spotted a creature a couple kilometers away from him that seemed to be wearing some form of covering, although it was not clear for Leigh for his vision was obscured since the forest was quite lush.
Leigh then sneakily closed in the distance bit by bit, in order to investigate what he saw. As Leigh continued to get closer while observing the creature at any chance he got, he noticed that the being was no matter how one looked at it, humanoid like.
Leigh then proceeded to get closer and closer to the humanoid being until he was close enough to fully observe the creature itself and it's actions.
The being had a mid night blue skin which was very similar to the plants within the forest. The creature had beautiful black pupils with silver irises. The body of this being was similar to a human's body except the black claw like figures that were the color of obsidian. Although the shoulders of this creature were positioned weirdly and the height of this creature seemed to be somewhere around 3 meters.
This creature also wore a clothes that were made of materials that Leigh could not recognize, although he knew that the clothing were most definitely not hard and brittle. On the other hand, the clothing of the creature seemed pretty soft and comfortable while having the look of something as resistance as iron.
The clothing themselves were silver and they covered most of the body of the creature. On the clothing, a bow and dagger that radiated an aura of danger could be seen.
This creature was contrary to its looks most definitely a resident of hell, a demon. Leigh had come to this conclusion because no other possibility could be seen and Leigh had learned to accept that the depiction of hell and demons by humans was most likely incorrect.
With this in mind, Leigh regained his excitement and knew that he was close to finding something worthy of his attention.
