The two angels continued to go through the shadows from the other side of the shadow wall as planned.
They had already passed the halfway point by the time Leigh killed the angel he met, yet nothing appeared in their path, and from their perspective, their companion should have arrived there as well unless something had happened, which was further supported by the sounds of battle heard only a short time ago.
With that perspective, they resumed their journey with more awareness. Many would have rushed to aid their companion, but that was something humans, not angels, would do.
The two angels were arrogant, yet they had been wounded, even though they thought it was owing to their enemy's surprise attack. As a result, they had to be considerably more cautious as they used their skills and expertise to advance.
They also witnessed one ally of theirs die to the low ranked demon, which made no sense, but it nevertheless led them to feel that the demon was capable of killing them and their other uninjured ally, adding to their weariness.
They just thought that no matter what the preceding sound of battle signified or the outcome, they had to keep their opponent in mind and not rush to help a potentially dead or injured comrade.
After all, angels' emotions were not as strong as humans, and this became increasingly apparent as the rank of demons and angels rose.
While the two damaged angels continued flying towards the other side of the curving shadow barriers, Leigh began attempting to swallow the angel before the arrival of the two other angels since he still felt enormous risk from the angels' weapons, even if he could stop them most of the time.
Leigh extended his hand and placed it on the angel's body. Then, like in every previous encounter, his grains formed a bridge that grew in length over time until it encompassed most of the angel's body and began consuming it.
When the grains reached the angel's wrist, they just avoided it and continued to covering the remainder of the body while consuming it. Leigh was not startled because the reason for this unusual occurrence was plainly related to the angel's weapon, which was in the same hand. This is because his grains had no issue with the angel's other hand.
The actual surprise there was that, unlike all the other bodies Leigh devoured, the angel's body took a little longer to be consumed.
The change was extremely evident because it took around triple that time to finish digesting the angel's body, but that time was still rather short given that the prior amount of time to consume a chimaera or human body was only a few seconds.
This was apparent due to a difference in a couple of factors such as power, resilience, and energy within the corpses compared to Leigh's grains, but Leigh was unaware of this and assumed it was due to the amount of grains it supplied Leigh.
Leigh finally finished devouring the angel's corpse and felt as if his power had reached a new level as his understanding of his surroundings grew. It seemed as though he had a different perspective on the world.
After all, that was the truth behind entering a new realm. Leigh was oblivious of the circumstance, but he had entered the power range of the mid rank of angels, which would be the mid realm of the rank 1 out of the world's six ranks.
Within each rank, there is a significant variance between each sub realm.
The two angels arrived before Leigh could even notice anything else about his body or situation.
Leigh anticipated the two angels to rush towards him, but instead they merely stared at him in wonder and did not move. Unlike previously, they appeared anxious.
There were two obvious reasons for this situation. The first was that they noticed that Leigh's demonic energy could no longer be felt because they couldn't see anything anymore, which only meant one thing: their enemy had entered the same sub realm as them, which blocked their ability to see the demonic presence, because Leigh's body automatically masked his presence as much as it could, as it did with every other demon.
The other reason was that they noted Leigh had entered that mid-ranking realm with no disturbances in the environment, which was unusual because the struggle to break through the levels always produces a wave of energy to be discharged, causing damage to the environment. What they didn't realize was that because Leigh was special, no such restrictions applied to him.
The previous proud yet aware angles were now uneasy in the presence of Leigh, who had entered the same realm as them, removing whatever edge they had over their adversary because their weapons would no longer harm Leigh by burning him or purifying him in a matter of seconds.
While the angels' attitude changed, Leigh had no idea why because he was unaware of the world's rules and ways, so he had no idea what was truly happening, but he still knew that he should eliminate the two angels because his lack of knowledge caused him to still fear the angels' weapons and strength.
Leigh and the angels clashed once more with that thought in his head. The two angels were already slightly hurt from their previous confrontation with Leigh, making them even more vulnerable to him.
The angels pushed ahead, not thinking about anything else because it didn't matter, and reached Leigh, who had already gone into his hovering form.
Leigh then materialized into his natural form in mid-air and punched one of the angels in the head with his punch, which was enhanced by his density alteration ability.
The angel on the receiving end of that assault thought that punch would be the end of it for him because the punch's power had already surpassed the regular mid rank due to how much its density had increased.
The angel failed to evade the punch and was hit, sending him flying backwards at breakneck speed before crashing into the middle of the building's wall and breaking it.
The other angel was terrified of Leigh beyond reason at this point. The angel's instincts told it to flee, but as a warrior, he stood his ground and attempted to fight Leigh because he couldn't let evil triumph in that situation.
Leigh jumped from the ground to the angel without changing form and simply kicked the angel, who blocked it but was still knocked back a little. Leigh did not use his density alteration ability at the moment because he wanted to test his powers, which astonished him.
He didn't know how to react to having received so much strength from one angel, and he couldn't contain himself when thinking about consuming the other two angels.
The angel that had been driven back pounced at Leigh, but Leigh just strengthened his legs and shifted to the left, where he strengthened his right leg and struck the angel, sending it flying like its partner.
The angel was severely hurt, yet he was able to rise up since he was not hit in the head. As the angel rose, Leigh ran towards him and ended him with a rapid move of his arm, instantaneously killing the angel owing to its increased density to the maximum.
With that, all of the angles were either slain or rendered immobile, and Leigh had triumphed.
