Chapter 34 - 3 versus 1

The angels looked at Leigh with a surprised look, they did not know how to respond to such a situation.

To put it into perspective, what they were witnessing was as if a rabbit could all of a sudden kill a bear. That is, of course, inconceivable from every point of view in the world, and if it did happen, no bear, or even human, would know how to genuinely respond to the situation.

The same had occurred with Leigh, a low ranking demon was capable of killing a mid ranking angel, which made absolutely no sense.

Angels, contrary to popular belief, are not perfect, and in that scenario, they were distracted by Leigh's unbelievable achievement, giving Leigh the opportunity to launch a surprise attack on the closest angel.

Leigh utilized his legs to land a kick on his opponent for the first time. He had gradually gotten used to separating his body into several pieces, allowing hovering and flight, so he once more preformed that action and got out of his form just to land a strengthened kick to his enemy's face.

The angel got out of his daze when he saw Leigh approach him and separated into many grains but it was already to late for in a matter of seconds Leigh made his move and kicked the angel, sending him in to ground to his left side.

The other angel reacted very fast and lunged towards Leigh who was now on the ground, standing, and struck his dagger which clashed with Leigh's enhanced arm and got blocked, even though Leigh did not have a lot of battle experience, he somehow managed to fight on par with those angels because of his reaction speed which was gained through his visions and improved body.

But Leigh still lacked real training and battle knowledge so when he blocked the dagger, he did not expect the angel to twist it's shoulders and lunch a palm strike which hit Leigh's chest and send him flying towards the other side of the room because his chest was also much softer due to its decrease in density and the increase of density in his arm.

Leigh had the time to protect himself but didn't expect that attack and led down his guard for a second.

Leigh hit and rolled on the ground a couple of time before regaining his balance and standing up just to get hit by a kick from the angel he punched, causing Leigh to once more lose his balance and become weaker due to the loss of some grains.

It seemed like 3 were too much for Leigh at the moment because they could simply launch attacks after attacks but he preserved and did not lose hope.

Leigh casted a couple of large 5 meter wide wall like shadows around his surround before colliding with the ground.

The reasoning behind his action was to limit the vision of the angels which would give him more time to regain his balance and do something about the situation since the angels would probably think twice about entering the shadows without thinking like the first angel who died.

He did not preform this before because he was too close to the angel meaning it would have been pointless to attempt such actions. It would of been a waste of his grains since the shadow ability required grains to function.

The three remaining angels were confused and hesitant about what to do at that point. Their enemy had successfully stopped their repetitive attacks and didn't know what lay behind the shadows since they all shared the demonic presence of Leigh so they didn't know where he was and they wanted to avoid surprise attacks.

So they simply decided to start from the two ends of the shadow walls and close in the center of all the shadows. That would allow them to avoid ambushes completely. The 2 injured angels entered from one side while the other uninjured angel went into the other end.

While this was happening, Leigh had regain his balance and started to feed on the chimeras closes to him in order to increase his overall strength which would further help increase his density alteration ability, making his strikes more fatal to the angels.

Leigh consumed the 4 chimeras closest to him before the healthy angel reached him. The angel lunched himself towards Leigh who increased the density in his legs and jumped towards the angel as well. Leigh's speed was something shocking since he now had a speed many folds higher than his previous one.

The ability to gain power by just eating was too overpowered for the universe, in reality what was stopping him from always adjusting his basic strength in a battle.

When Leigh was close to the angel he separated his grains which caused the strike of the angel's weapon which was the dagger to only strike a very small number of the grains which was painful but not enough for Leigh to have to think about them.

This was mainly because the dagger was small but fast, the small surface area of it only allowed it hit some grains. In Leigh's separated form, it would be better to have larger weapons and when he was in his normal form, a small weapon proved more useful.

The main reason behind why Leigh did not lose his concentration enough to fall was because of 3 reasons. One, he was used to that pain and the fact that even smaller number of grains got effected helped as well, allowing him to be able to not think about the pain much, hence requiring less of his attention and concentration.

The second reason was because Leigh had improved in his control and ability which allowed him more mastery over it, and the final reason was because Leigh only separated his grains enough to hover and not fly which required less concentration hence allowing a very small part of his being to handle the pain and not ruin his form.

Leigh managed to keep his form thanks to these reasons.

When the angel's dagger was below Leigh and the angel had lost a part of his momentum, Leigh quickly came out of his form and punched downwards towards the angels face which caused the angel to crash into the ground below the angel's exact previous location.

Many would believe that a downwards kick would of been better but Leigh couldn't think of that since he never used it or saw it so he could only punch to receive a similar effect.

Before the angel even had the time to regain his composure, Leigh fell from the sky towards the ground because he had lost his separated grain form. He simply didn't have enough time to regain it but it did not matter since that had happened every single time he preformed a hovering movement and then an attack. It had happened around 3 other times previously.

Leigh landed next to the angel on his legs like a cat falling from a wall and landing on its legs. Leigh then proceeded to finish the angel by continues punches which finished the angel who was struggling. Each punch caused the angel to bleed more and more while it also deformed the angel's body since Leigh was using a maximum density punches.

The angel's body went lifeless while Leigh only gained more motivation and hope since one enemy was down.

Two more to go.
