As he tried to deal with the anguish, Leigh became engulfed in anger. All of the wrath he had felt toward others suddenly reappeared in his thoughts, coupled with recollections of the events that had produced the fury.
There were specific recollections of Leigh being angry at himself for being weak and allowing people to manipulate him, angry at the adults' stupidity, angry at those who betrayed his trust, and angry at society and the hierarchy inside it that caused some to behave as they wished.
There were also scenes in which he reacted to the emotion of fury; in many cases, he ignored it since he knew it would only make matters worse. He was too frail to embrace rage.
However, memories of previous battles against chimaeras and troops surfaced, and they were the polar opposite of his existence before he transformed. He did not suppress his fury and rage; instead, he embraced it, which only seized control of him and brought destruction.
Even though he had accepted rage unlike before, it didn't make much of a difference because he still had no control over it. It was rage that had power over his head, but that was about to change because Leigh had realized the truth about anger after witnessing what it had done to Kalen, who had lost his rational decision-making ability as soon as anger seized possession of him.
Anger, like disgust, was a pointless emotion. It is not only unpleasant, but also hazardous, which is why it is preferable to just get rid of anger, a feeling that only works against an individual.
Then, as Leigh accepted to let go of his rage, he dreamed of two demons who looked just like him, as if they were reflections of him, but Leigh intuitively realized that those two demons were merely of the same species as him.
As he looked at the two demons, a flood of information about another capability of his body filled his consciousness. It was hazy at first, but as the two devils' vision progressed, it became clearer and clearer.
The two demons were fighting another entity while having complete control over their bodies; the degree of control was somehow comprehended by Leigh, as if he were the one inside one of the two demons' bodies.
As Leigh continued to examine the demons in his own vision, he noted how the density of the grains within the demons' various body parts changed even though they were not hurt.
It was perplexing at first, but as more information about his ability poured into his thoughts, he began to connect the dots and discovered the explanation for the demon's unusual condition. Its density shifted in response to the demon's will.
After a while, the vision ended with the demons being forced back, with one demon dying and the other fleeing using the same capability of his body.
Leigh became stronger and closer to being a perfect entity as he let go of another aspect of his humanity.
-----------------------------------------
Leigh was holding his head with his hands as he flattened his head into the floor to relieve some of the pain he was experiencing due to his position against the wall.
The angel noticed the demon's odd behaviour and approached Leigh to give the deadly blow. Nonetheless, the angel came to a halt around 2 metres from Leigh.
The angel smirked at the sight of Leigh's deed, a faint expression of pride on his face. Because Leigh kept hitting his head on the ground, the angel assumed he was pleading for his life and bowing to the angel. Arrogant beings, such as angels, were prone to making everything about themselves.
Leigh was suffering greatly as a result of the fact that he was receiving an inconceivable amount of information at a rapid pace because his body had felt the impending danger and attempted to accelerate the rate at which the changes within Leigh occurred.
While the angel was closing in on his adversary and inspecting him, Leigh began to regain control of his mind and body.
Leigh let go of his head and attempted to stand up, which astonished the angel in front of him because the angel had assumed Leigh had already given up.
The angel had an innate feeling that something was different and odd about Leigh, but he couldn't define the source of his feeling, so the angel merely lunged forward to execute his target.
When Leigh saw the angel charging at him, he tried to totally avoid it by increasing the density of the grains in his leg, which temporarily increased the strength of his legs.
It wasn't a horrible first try, but Leigh still couldn't totally avoid the angel's sword because it scratched his waist due to his inexperience with his new skill.
The angel was taken aback by Leigh's newfound quickness, but much more so by the fact that, unlike before, Leigh's waist had been easily pierced. It seemed as though Leigh had gained speed by sacrificing his upper body's defense.
That is precisely what occurred. Leigh was already aware of this based on the knowledge he had received in his visions.
Leigh's new power, unlike his shadow talent, did not require grain to function because it just affects Leigh's body and not the world.
To enhance the density of a certain body part, he must reduce the space between the grains, which reduces the volume and so increases the density of that body part.
But, in order to boost the density significantly, as Leigh did to avoid the angel's sword, he must take the extra grain from somewhere in his body. This indicates that in order to dramatically enhance the density of one body component, Leigh must temporarily decrease the density of another body part, weakening that body part.
After narrowly avoiding the angel's lethal attack, Leigh widened the space between his grains by an unthinkable amount and tried to take to the skies.
