Making their way through the streets followed by a stunned Cater. Lilac and Loki were looking for a hotel or an inn of some sort which was close enough to the air docks for them to make their way there quickly enough in just a few days' time.
"I am still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that the two of you managed to get into the academy." Carter would say to them hoping to garner more of a reaction from them. Rather than the one he was getting from them. Which was ignored.
"Struggle as you Like. Thems the facts" Loki would say over his shoulder. "Do you have anything better to do than harass us?"
"Honestly? No, I just want to harass you two as much as possible to make you no longer want to attend the academy." Carter would explain walking with his arms behind his head. A small smile playing at his lips as he continued to think of ways to torture the pair. Thinking of ways to further get under their skin. And if he wanted to be the number one huntsman in the world. He needed to get a start as early as he possibly could.
And that meant he needed to remove the competition. Which these two obviously had just become. But he couldn't think of anything to get under their skins. Since he didn't really know them well enough. But he knew deep down he had to bide his time. If he truly wanted to get one over on them.
"Well you are going to have to try a hell of a lot harder than that if you want to get in the way of my life." Loki would say in a cold tone pinning Carter with a deadly look. A look that succeeded in causing the young man to take half a step back out of reflex.
Gulping Carter could tell there was something hidden underneath this mans skin. Something sinister, but not necessarily evil. Just dangerous.
"Come on Oki, no need to be cold." Lilac would say before momentarily being pushed into a well placed fountain of water. Now officially without a current residence. But now soaked.
"I hate that damned nickname Lilac. And you pretty boy better not call me that if you value being conscious." He would say with a low growl pinning them both with a look of anger and some small amount of hatred. "If you hadn't made a mess of the place we were previously staying in we wouldn't have the problem we currently have. This isn't a time for fun, this is a time for us to find a place warm enough to spend the night."
Carter would let out a low whistle before going over to Lilac, and helping her out of the fountain. Soaking wet, she would smile at the young man who helped her. Before grabbing a pebble and pegging Loki in the back of the head.
Part of her didn't know why she helped him out in the first place. But she saw something deep within him, that he nor others saw. Something within him that made her want to be near him, and to help him with everything that she could. Which was the entire reason she let him stay in her apartment. Which was why he worked so hard to help him get into the academy. It was the thing they both had in common really. The only thing that brought them together.
Eventually the group would find themselves in front of a Motel that was obviously far past it's prime, and far past being obviously safe. That was the vibe Loki got from it anyway.
Looking to Lilac he would indicate for her to enter before he did. Since he was absolutely broke, without any money to his name. She tended to cover any expenses that happened to crawl in his direction. Which in a place like this, everything was considered an expense.
"Are you guys really going to stay in this haunted murder palace?" Carter would ask fearing that their answer would be yes.
"It's the cheapest place in the area that'll let minors, and students book a room." Loki would say following Lilac into the building, with Carter begrudgingly following the duo in.
Once they were inside of the building, the once white walls were covered with yellow cigarette stains, and the once nice wooden floor now had several dark stains in it. And at the front desk was an older fellow who seemed moments from kicking the bucket.
"Are you guys sure you don't want to find another place to stay in a place just a little bit nicer than this?" Carter would ask, letting his shield if arrogance fall a degree.
"What are you talking about? This is a step up still from how I'm used to living." Loki would say in a low tone, as Lilac talked with the older man. "If need be to save a bit more change for a nicer abode. I can sleep in a tree."
"What if it rains?" Carter would ask an increasingly greater shocked look drawing itself onto his face.
"Then I'll sleep under the tree" Loki would counter obviously unphased by the prospect of having to live at the mercy of the elements.
Which made Carter wonder just exactly how this kid lived before coming to Vale. Was he homeless and just got lucky with some kind of scholarship? Or did he lie on his paperwork and just hadn't been caught yet? Because there was no way a teen like him to be used to the elements to that degree, and become a student at Beacon. It was just impossible.
"Got us the room Loki." Lilac would say interrupting Carter's thoughts as she held up a key. "unfortunately they didn't have two beds so we'll have to make due with a single bed."
"Don't worry, I'll sleep on the floor. It will be comfortable enough." Loki would say looking to Carter. "See you later."
