Loki stood by the window keeping his gaze out the window. Keeping an eye out for whoever had beat the absolute light out of Carter. And since there was no telling if he was followed or not. It was a good idea to keep a high level of caution in this situation.
"When do you think he's gonna wake up?" Lilac would ask placing a wet cloth on Carter's head, a look of worry playing on her face.
"With how severely he was beaten. It wouldn't surprise me if he stayed out for the next couple of hours." Loki would say in a low tone. As he glanced over to the two. There was a wave of disgust that swam through Loki at the pitiful sight of Carter. Had he been in Carter's place. whoever the troublemakers were. Would've been on the ground in just as much pain as he would've been.
"What are we going to do then? Chase them down?" Lilac would ask looking up at Loki. Noticing the look he held within his eyes.
"We're going to wait for him to wake up. We don't know what to look for or how many we should expect." Loki would say adverting his gaze back out the window. "Until then there's nothing we can do. Wish the asshole could've stayed conscious long enough to give us some information we could've used to track them down. But with our luck. That ain't going to be happening."
Lilac would frown at his choice of words. "No need to be so dour Loki. He at least tried to do something good."
"And he failed spectacularly in the process."
Letting out a tired sigh. Lilac knew better than to try and argue with him. Than to try to make him see something other than the bad.
Kersay slowly regained her consciousness to the feeling of two steel grips holding each of her arms. As she was dragged through what looked like a warehouse. Or was it a factory? She couldn't tell through the blur in her vision. Her head lulling back some. She would try to focus her vision on the two men that dragged her. Which both had their own bruises to attest to just how much she had fought back.
"You think the boss'll be happy?" The man on the left asked as his pace noticeably slowed down. "Happy that we took the initiative to grab the brat he's been watching for weeks?"
"He could be proud. Or he could kill us for doing this without his permission. Which he tends to do quite often. We just have to figure out how to keep her from using her special abilities." The man on the right would comment.
"Can't we just kill her?" The man on the left would ask nonchalantly. Those words made her stomach twist in fear. They would really suggest killing her as an easy way to keep her from using her abilities? Didn't they know what would happen as a result?
"L...Listen...you really...d... don't want to kill me. You wouldn't get anything out of it." Kersay would manage to croak out. Earning the attention of both the men. Who stared at her with equal amounts of surprise and shock.
"How in the hell is she awake?" The man on the left would question with a decent level of fear creeping into his voice. "We beat her ass and sedated her. There's no way she should be conscious."
"Remember she isn't a normal person. The thing that makes her so special, is what allows her to have the tolerance she does to the drugs."
They would both place another hand on her before they lifted her with a large deal of ease. Cuffing her wrists. Before letting her go. As soon as they stopped holding her up, her weight started pulling her down which forced the metal of the cuffs to dog into her skin. Causing even more pain to shoot through her body than what she was already feeling.
Now that her vision had cleared up enough. She noticed the man that was now on her right. Was rather slim. Obviously being a result of the fact he could move faster than she could track. And the man that was now on her left. Was well muscled showing that he was the powerhouse of the trio. Which now that she thought about it, where was the third one?
Placing a fresh cloth on Carter's head Lilac would let out a bored sigh. Glancing at Loki who had been looking out the window without as much as flinching. It amazed her that he could sit so still and in the same place for hours without losing his mind. It made her wonder just what kind of training he had under his belt.
"You see anything exciting?" Lilac would ask finally breaking the silence that had filled the void for the last few hours.
Looking up at her. Loki would reveal the look he held on his face. It was one that showed he didn't like how things were unfolding. And he didn't know whether or not he should give her a reason to worry as well. For he had seen an individual casing the motel they were staying at for sometime now. Almost as if they were trying to create some kind of plan to infiltrate the place.
But for the last handful of minutes he spent watching the outside. He hadn't seen the figure. It was almost like they vanished from existence completely. Which wasn't something Loki wanted to think about.
Because it most likely meant that his semblance gave him the ability to either to turn invisible. Or to teleport. Both weren't good in this case.
"It's nothing Lilac. there's no need fo-" his words would be cut off by a quiet knock at the door.
"Knock, knock. Can I come in?" The voice would say after another couple of knocks.
Great just what he wanted to deal with just two days before he started school. A mysterious asshole.
