"Your friend wasn't missing, he was with my friends and I." Maria said, making the others think Melvin had been fine the whole time. At this time the effects from the blood substitute had began to wear off. Melvin again felt a sharp pain in his stomach and doubled over, it wasn't as painful as the first time but it was still pretty painful.
"What's happening is he hurt?" Lydia asked, running past Maria right next to Melvin. "He's not hurt, just a little hungry. Once he feeds he should be fine." Maria said, taking a small knife out of her pocket.
"What do you mean he needs to feed!? Nothing like this has ever happened to him before." Lydia said, looking up at just the right time to see a knife moving towards her. Using her powers she was able to move out of the way with plenty of time to really get a look at Maria.
The first thing she noticed was that Maria wasn't a human. However she could see that Maria didn't look like any monster they had records of either. "What are you?" Lydia questioned, stepping out of the way of another slash.
"Oh, you can tell I'm not a human? You must have good eyes." Maria said, putting the knife back in her pocket. "No, not good eyes, just a quick deduction." She replied, still slightly crouching for better mobility.
"You humans have always thought you were the only race out here, and you still do even after the discovery of monsters." Maria said, while turning around to walk away.
"Wait! How are we supposed to help Melvin?" Lydia shouted, hoping that she would get a straight answer. "You'll find out soon, if your unlucky that is." Maria replied, giggling to herself.
"I'm fine, really it was just some stomach pains." Melvin lied. His stomach did feel a bit better, but he really did need to feed. Knowing he wasn't harmed made Lydia feel a lot better, she was going crazy with worry while he was missing.
"Come on let's go back, together." Lydia said, looking at each one of the people around her. "Sounds good, but how do you plan on making it back in?" Kang asked sarcastically, knowing that the Guards would not be happy about them being outside the wall without clearance.
"Don't worry about that. You can all go back through, as soon as you explain what you were thinking." Mr. Wallen said, walking out from behind the trees.

Around a dark wooden table sat three people. These people were the Elder Tim, his assistant Rando, and Tim's daughter Maria. They were sitting around the table to discuss one thing the recent outing of Maria's.
"Maria where in the world did you go!?" Tim shouted, still frustrated over her previous disappearance. "Don't worry dad everything is fine I just went to drop Melvin off to his own people." She replied. "'His own people!' He doesn't have 'His own people' anymore Maria he's a vampire now. Nobody is his people." Tim shouted, ranting about her decision to leave him with the humans.
"I don't see what the problem is." Maria said, leaning back in her chair. "The problem is, if he can't get blood in his system before he starves he'll go mad from the blood lust and kill until his thirst is satiated." Rando spoke, trying to emphasize the severity of the situation she had just caused..
"Oh, well that's not good. Is there anything we can do to fix this?" She asked. "There is one solution but it isn't a good one." Tim said, pulling his face in his frustration. "We have to get him back from them and try to locate the others."
"What 'others' are you talking about?" Maria asked, confused by her father's words. "The other vampire's of course." Rando said, as if the answer was obvious.
