Melvin was looking down while trudging through the crowd of people with the others. It was because he felt it was almost impossible, as the urge to drain them of their blood was flooding his mind with each step. Lydia noticed as Melvin was slowly being left behind. 'Blood I need blood' this thought continued to ring through Melvin's head.
"Are you alright? You look frightened and a little pale." Lydia asked, using her finger and thumb to emphasize his look of uneasiness while smiling to comfort him. Slowing down enough to walk beside him but just fast enough that the others didn't lose them yet.
"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just tired from all this walking around." Melvin lied, trying his best to put on a convincing smile that ended up making him look even more guilty. Feeling uneasy about lying to his childhood friend he shifted his gaze elsewhere.
Lydia knew Melvin had just lied, how could she not, she knew him better than he knew himself. She didn't say anything though feeling none of this would have happened if they were in the same group. Not that it was up to her anyways, she just felt it was her fault in some way.
'I know I couldn't have changed anything, but I still would have felt better if I would have been in his group from the start' Lydia thought to herself as she stared at Melvin.
"What's taking you two so long? We're gonna leave you behind if you don't pick up the pace!" Kang shouted, while looking over his shoulder to see if the other two sped up any. Scarlett walked alongside Kang nodding in agreement with what the other had said.
As they made their way closer to the MCG headquarters Melvin noticed that it was getting brighter outside. He started to panic internally 'What's gonna happen when the sunlight touches my skin? Will I start to burn like last time?' He thought, looking at the sky trying to shield himself with his hands.
The memories of burning in the sun frightened him more than any monster he had ever seen. Much to his suprise though, the sunlight didn't burn him to a crisp. 'Nothings happening I'm fine', He thought peeking through his fingers and patting himself over.
Looking back to Lydia Kang asked, "Is he gonna be okay? Or do we need to get him to a therapist?". Referring to his odd actions after the sun had risen over the horizon.
"I think he just needs a nice hot shower and some sleep to be honest, we have no idea what he's been through." She replied to him. 'Although it probably wouldn't hurt to take him to see a therapist after this', she thought to herself.
Scarlett, feeling left out, pouted as they continued on their way to the medical ward of the MCG and to report that they had found Melvin and that he knew the location of a village of monsters. However unbeknownst to the group they had been followed from the time they left the forest.

"I'm telling you he didn't burn. That's not a very common thing for them is it?" A voice asked, waiting for a reply from the person on the other end.
"No that's not common at all. This is an interesting development indeed. Keep watching them and report anymore abnormal behavior from the boy." The other person said, smiling from excitment before ending the call.
Getting up from his large chair and heading over to the large window in his office the man began to think about his next move carefully. 'Patience is a virtue and for people like me it can also be considered a luxury, but what will you do when you learn the truth hmm' He thought while looking out at the people rushing all around.

"Your vitals are normal and no internal injuries. You just need to go home and take a nice rest." Said a woman, she was wearing a long white coat and had a stethoscope placed on her neck.
"Whatever you say doc." Melvin replied sarcastically, getting off the bed and getting ready to leave.
"One more thing, we found something odd in your blood work we may need to call you in for some more tests later would that be a problem?" The lady doctor asked, ignoring the sarcasm in his voice.
Opening the door to leave Melvin stopped and replied, "Sure anything to help out where I can."
Walking down the hall, Melvin stopped at another room and waited for another person to walk out the door.
"So, Lydia, what was that about?" Melvin asked, referring to the meeting she had just left from.
"That, it was just the execs asking some questions about where you were and how we found you." She replied quickly, hoping he didn't ask for a more specific answer.
When in reality it was the executives issuing her an order to monitor Melvin and make sure he wasn't defecting to the monsters side. 'If he knew about this I'm sure he would freak out about it', she thought.
"Anywho what are your plans for the next few days? They made you take those days off after what happened, right?" She asked, quite qurious about his next few actions.
"Yeah they told me to take a few days off. I think I'll take the doctors advice and rest." He said, honestly planning to rest as suggested, but something was bugging him slightly.
'Why didn't I burn in the sunlight like last time, I'm gonna have to have a serious talk with Brian when I get home', He thought as they walked out of the hospital and towards his house.
