Looking up to a tan man with light brown hair in a buzz cut and brown eyes. His eyes told me not to worry, but also had a different story. Pushing the body on top of me wasn't difficult, but the feeling of pain came from my ankle once again. I kept forgetting that I was hurt a couple days ago, but I kept pushing it away. Not wanting to look like I was weak and useless to the others. But I was only lucky with the help of this man.
"You okay?" he asked in a calm manner.
"Yeah...." I stuttered as I started to look down with a blush.
"Are you alone?" he sighed and helped me up, before my ankle gave out. I was lucky that he caught me, but it only made my cheeks brighten. It didn't take him long to notice me blushing as he smiled.
"Fucking great," I mumbled.
"Its fine," he smiled, "but where are you staying at the moment?"
"The School nearby...." I replied as he picked me up. He walked me to a military jeep, but where did it come from. The only military base was in Fort Leonard Wood and that was miles away from Willow. He wore the normal camo uniform, but was armed to the knee. He had a pistol in a holster and I knew there was more in the jeep. I was placed in the passenger seat in the front as he turned to his side. I never thought that we would be saved this soon as he starts the jeep.
The loud beeping of his radio came in as a voice called out to him.
"Aron are you there!" a males voice called him.
"Yeah I'm here." he replied driving to the school.
"We have a issue at base," he answered, "We are telling you to not come back to base!"
"What's going on?" he snapped as we heard screaming coming from the distance. I knew what it was, that screaming reminded me of that night. That was either an infected killing everyone or zombies outside killing with no stop. It didn't last long as the radio cut off. His eyes spoke of worry for his friend, but seemed pissed about it.
"Sorry for your lost...." I said in a low voice.
"You should mind your own business," he grumbled.
"Sorry...." I said quietly and looked out the window.
I could see the school as Ethan and Ace worked on the fence and the others laughing and having fun. It stopped when we started to come in. I could tell that they were worried about a military jeep coming towards the school. Knowing that James and Colt told them that I stayed back to get the map. The thought of me being dead was close to their mind as the jeep stopped.
All I hear was Ace calling for Jade to get out there, but Aron stepped out. I did the same, but I fell to the ground in pain. Looking at my ankle as it was now black and blue from all the walking and running. Ace seems to notice that I was there, but didn't know for the right reasons. But I forced my self up and leaned on the jeep. Aron seemed upset with Jade coming out with her shotgun pointed at his head.
"Why the hell are you here?" she screamed.
"Jade!" I snapped.
"Lize?" she questioned.
"Don't even think about using your gun!" I snapped and tried to walk a little closer.
"Fine, but who is he?" she asked with an angered tone in her voice.
I knew that she wasn't going to like the idea of a guy saving my life. But she seemed okay with the fact of me being alive and well. But Ben walked over with a very disappointed look on his face. Countless times he had told me that I should be resting and not move around too much.
Telling her about how he saved me from being zombie food, but her trust for him was very low. I never spoke about the radio call and how it effected him in a small amount of time. I knew that he had seen death on first sight, but I don't know how he handles it. The death of someone else kills me inside and out, but he seemed to be calm about it. Maybe its the situations that he was in at the moment or the training he done over the years. I wanted to not feel that pain of losing someone, to feel nothing.
"So Lize," Jade started to speak, "What do you think of Military Man?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You seems very protective over him a few minutes ago," she smiled, knowing that I gain a little bit of a crush.
"He... saved me and I wanted to do a favor." I stuttered.
"Sure there is nothing more?" asking again with a all knowing smiled.
"Nothing at all!" I snapped and forced myself back into the gym. Head for the office to lock myself away from rest of the group. But I never thought that Ace and the Military guy would be there. They stood their waiting for me to show up, but by the look of Ace's face was nerving. I had a feeling that he was going to ask to stay a while.
"If your asking to stay," I smiled, "Your welcome to be here all you want!"
"Are you sure about me wanting to stay here?" he smirked.
"Ace wouldn't be so worried if you didn't asked him." I replied.
"Very observant," he smiled.
The small details in speaking or body language was something I noticed. I wouldn't mind having Aron around for a few days or longer. He might help me with my sense of lost. He would give me that sense of perpose.
"So what do you need me to do?" Aron asked.
"Best idea is to ask Jade." I laughed, "I'm on strict orders to rest."
"You always seem to break them," Ace muttered under his breath. Walking away from both me and Aron. He was right about me not listening to anyone and being a bit pig headed. I always seemed to be forcing myself to help the others with finding supplies in town and protecting them with my life. Aron seemed very surprised about my actions said from Ace.
"Guess I'm going to make sure your resting then." Aron replied with a slight smile.
"We'll see how that goes," I smiled with a wink, but regretted it as I blushed from it.
