Soon as we finally gotten back from a long day of going to everyone's houses. But on the way back was slower than ever. The sky was turning dark and Squeaks and Apollo were falling asleep in a chair. I never thought I would see a squirrel and dog get along.
"Do you think we'll make it to the gas station," Ace asked.
"We should be close," I replied as I heard the bus making a dinging sound. I realized it was the gas meter and we were on empty. Night time was at least a few minutes away, but how are we going to get fuel without being eaten. I could barely walk after a couple of hours and Ace didn't trust Ethan around me as well.
Soon as the bus stopped in the middle of the road and nothing was there for miles. I knew that one of us had to walk to Gator Station and come back. But we don't know which one of us would do it willing with all the danger.
"Who's going to get the fuel?" I asked.
"Maybe you should go!" Ethan snapped.
"Ethan!" Ace screamed.
"She acts like the leader..." he mumbled.
"And she can't walk," Ace snapped.
I could tell that they didn't agree with one another at this time. I didn't save Dawn, but I wouldn't be able make it to the gas station with my ankle. So we had to make a discussion and quick. I don't know if the zombies are more active at night.
"Ethan you should go," Ace grumbled.
"What!" he screamed.
"I think its better for Lize to stay here and Apollo would eat you up if I wasn't around." he answered, but Ethan was not happy about it. He walked out and got the gas cans from the hatch beside the bus. Walking away with a stomp. I knew that we would be here for a couple of hours.
"You be careful from now on," Ace replied.
"What you mean?" I questioned.
"Ethan not really happy with the both of us," he laughed.
"His problem then." I smiled, "So what are planning on naming your baby?"
"Anna if its a girl and Thomas if its a boy." he smiled, "But if Hanna wants a different name. I'm okay with it."
"I wish I had a romantic relationship like you and Hanna." I smiled.
"We still have are moments," he sighed, "but I love her."
"I better be the best man then." I laughed which made him smile. I always enjoy making my friends smile, even if my own health starts to fall apart. I don't want to worry the others with my problems, so I keep them to myself. The only person who knew about it was Dawn and Jade, but they only knew a little.
It didn't take long to hear growls of zombies outside the bus. Struggling to keep on themselves on their feet as they hunger for flesh. I wasn't going to let us die out here. Not when Ace has a family to be and the asshole has a life a head of him. If anyone was going to die it was going to be me protecting the others. But would they miss me if I die or forget about me.
We sat there for hours, till we hear Ethan saying the bus had fuel. He hoped in a blood all over his body and I didn't know if was his or the zombies outside. So I shook it off and decide to learn to drive. Both of the boys worked hard and I want them to sleep while they can. Soon as the lights showed the road and finally getting to the gas station to fill up. I grabbed my gun and filled the tank and headed for the school once again. I knew that they were worried sick about us and I bet Ethan wanted a hot shower.
So we headed home with all we could carry and knowing that it could be dangerous to park near the school. Taking a block or two away to wait the night to end was smart, till the sight of dawn once again. I was ready to take a nap in one of offices away from people. But Jade was going to be pissed at us for showing the next day. Worried that we were dead in a ditch or eaten by zombies.
