Emily stares incredibly. No words are coming out of her mouth. The boy's voice is heavy. As soon as it is heard, electricity plays in the body. Emily said,
"How did you get into the house?"
Aldwin leaned a little closer to Emily and sat down. Whispered,
"I don't need any permission to go anywhere. I can go anywhere I want."
The silence is broken by the barking of a few dogs under the house. Aldwin puts his hand on hers, which feels as cold as ice. Emily is familiar with this touch but quickly removes his hand, saying in a frightened voice,
"Sit down. Don't come near."
With a mysterious smile, Aldwin says,
"Okay."
He gets out of bed and walks towards the corridor. Emily realizes her hand is numb and wonders if Aldwin is intangible. Whose presence does Emily sense? The dogs are no longer barking.
Emily starts looking for her mobile in the bed, but suddenly remembers it is in the corridor. She takes the candle in her hand, presses her foot, and walks towards the corridor. The battery, back part, and mobile of the mobile are lying in a dilapidated condition a little far away. Emily quickly picks them up and returns to the room. Missed call alerts start coming as soon as she turns on the mobile. Dad called, and Jennifer also called many times. Emily decides that she will call Jennifer after a while and tell her everything.
The current is gone, leaving only three lights, including one in the corridor and dining space. Emily turns on a light and puts it in her room. Then the whole house is lit up, and she starts walking towards the kitchen. Emily doesn't understand where Aldwin has gone. However, she is sure that Aldwin is around her and will rush to stand in front of Emily. But this time she will not be afraid. Instead, she would tell him in hard language to leave her life.
Emily immediately cooks the noodles, always using extra spices. She takes a bottle of cold water from the fridge and goes to the room with a bottle and a bowl of noodles. There are two missed calls on Emily's mobile. In the meantime, Jennifer has called twice. Emily calls Jennifer, and thunder is heard from the opposite side of the phone call.
"How many times have I called you? You hung up," Jennifer screamed.
"Dude, I'm in," Emily couldn't finish. She clearly understood that someone was standing behind her. Emily first looked in the mirror, but no one was seen there. Turning around, she saw Aldwin leaning against the door. He said,
"What happened to you a while ago and what is still happening is entirely our matter. I hope you won't tell anyone about it. If you dare to tell anyone about it even after you agree, the consequences will be very bad." With that, Aldwin disappeared.
Jennifer continued to say "Hello, hello." Emily sighed and said,
"I'm not feeling well. I'll come to varsity and talk to you." Emily hung up the phone before Jennifer could say anything, trying to sleep with the phone charged.
Emily woke up very early that day and went to varsity because Mrs. Nusba would take a class. Emily liked her very much because of her tone and explaining style, which attracted everyone more than other teachers.
The next day at the university, Mrs. Nusba entered the class and everyone stood up. Mrs. Nusba took an English literature class and she could teach very well. Almost every student was eagerly waiting for her class. Mrs. Nusba asked coldly, "Have you all brought your assignments?" Everyone said in unison, "Yes, ma'am." They came one by one submitting their assignments. The whole class was darkened, and the projector was turned on. Mrs. Nusba said,
"Today I will tell you a different story. But before that, I have a question for you. We all know about vampires, right?" Everyone in the class nodded "yes". "I'm going to talk a little more. To find out about vampires, we need to go back to the early eighteenth century. Vampires are a type of animal that lives by drinking blood. Although they are mythical and folklore animals, many historians have given positive indications of their existence.
Emily listened intently to Mrs. Nusba's mysterious presentation, which silenced the class. Suddenly, Mrs. Nusba laughed and announced,
"You will be given another assignment this semester, based on the drama series The Twilight Saga by American writer Stephanie Meyer. Who here knows about the novel?" Many students raised their hands, but Emily did not.
Jennifer asked, "Haven't you seen Twilight yet?"
"No," Emily replied.
Jennifer widened her eyes and said, "Oops! Life would be blessed if I could find someone like Edward."
"Who is Edward?" Emily asked.
Before Jennifer could respond, Mrs. Nusba called for attention and announced that the final assignment of the semester would be based on Stephanie Meyer and her novel. Jennifer whispered, "What a week! I will watch the whole drama series once a day." Emily smiled, feeling less in the dark.
As class neared its end, Emily glanced at her watch and saw that there were fifteen minutes left. The class was excited about the new assignment, even though Mrs. Nusba's biography of a writer's life had been uninteresting. Emily returned home and watched the movie with trepidation. She wondered if Stephanie Meyer had written the novel based solely on her imagination, or if there was something in her own life that influenced the story.
Suddenly, the calm weather turned turbulent, and Emily heard a loud bang. She was scared of lightning, so she closed her eyes and ears. Then she heard a male voice say,
"Are you so scared of electric light? You weren't so scared the first time you saw me." Emily was startled and asked why he was back. Aldwin smiled without answering, and Emily became frustrated with his character. She didn't like how he always appeared suddenly and never gave complete answers.
"If you don't mind hearing, why do I feel bad?"
"Well. You can say that I like you. I like to hear whatever you say. Even your bitter words are sweet."
Emily growled,
"What did you say, I'm talking bitter?"
"Emily, you know what you're very quarrelsome."
"Hey, how dare you?"
This time Emily took the form of fire. She has been a quiet girl since childhood. In school, in college, quarreling with someone is a distant matter. She leaned in towards him, and Aldwin realized he had made her angrier. He said,
"It's too hot today, isn't it? You can finish your work, I'm leaving. Don't be too angry. When you're angry, you feel like red chilies." Then he disappeared without giving Emily a chance to respond. Emily stared at the place like a fool.
"It's too hot today, isn't it? You do your job, and I'll leave. Don't be too angry. When you're angry, you feel like red chilies." Then he disappeared without giving Emily a chance to respond.
In a secluded place, a man with his head bowed stood before Godfrey, who was sitting on a stone throne. Godfrey said to the man,
"It's not too late for that desired time to come. Emily has to take on all the responsibilities soon, but you must always protect her. There are many dangers around her that she's not aware of."
"I understand, Godfrey. Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt Emily. I will protect her," the man replied.
