The sun is shining outside, but there is no way to see or understand that last night nature got up in a violent dance. The frozen water of the rain is dripping from here and there, and the branches of the trees are intertwined. Nature seems to bathe in the sunlight. Suddenly, the alarm rang on Emily's phone, and she grabbed her mobile phone with her eyes still closed. The alarm went off, and Emily, who was covered with a thin sheet, threw it off her body. The Paralysis broke while she was still half asleep. At that moment, Aldwin entered Emily's house, holding a tray in his hand. Emily asked with a frown, "What did you bring?"
"I brought your breakfast," Aldwin replied.
Emily saw a cup of tea, two loaves of bread, and an egg omelet on the tray. Aldwin put the tray on the bed, then looked at Emily and smiled silently. "Who told you to do this?" Emily asked.
"No one. I did it because I wanted to," Aldwin replied.
"Why do you have such a strange desire?" Emily inquired.
"Is it weird to cook and feed someone?" Aldwin retorted.
"No, that's not a weird thing. But it's weird that you made these things for me," Emily said. She was irritated by Aldwin's behavior .
Aldwin responded, "If ghosts don't do weird things, who will? Humans? Eat without talking."
"I only eat food after washing myself."
"Didn't you brush your teeth last night?" Aldwin asked, widen his left eyebrow.
"I did," Emily replied.
"So what's the problem?" Aldwin asked.
"No particular problem. I just don't feel comfortable eating like this," Emily explained.
Emily's eyes were full of annoyance, but she seemed to be acting normal, as if nothing had happened the day before. That's why Aldwin didn't want to force the issue any further at this point.
Aldwin said, "Well, have some tea, eat fresh bread, and have an omelet."
Emily stared at Aldwin for a moment, knowing that she had failed him. She took a cup of tea, and Aldwin remarked, "Good girl."
Aldwin removed the glass and opened the window, letting the sun's rays reach every corner of the room. Moving the screen, he said,
"Drinking tea on an empty stomach in the morning is harmful to your health."
"Since you know, then why did you make tea?" Emily asked.
"Because you have a headache. You've been up all night making notes. Sleep deprivation hurts your head."
Emily's eyes widened at the thought of the notes. They had not yet been printed, and she had to show them to Nusba Mam. She left her cup of tea and stood up. Aldwin said in surprise,
"What's the matter? Is it bad to drink tea?"
"My notes were not printed. I have to show them to Mam today," Emily explained.
"I'll do it," Aldwin offered.
"No need. I'll do it before I go to university," Emily replied.
Aldwin insisted and said a little louder,
"Need!"
"Okay. I'm going to freshen up," Emily said as she headed towards the bathroom. She had little time left for herself, and it would be nice if Aldwin could print the notes. Her head felt heavy.
"Well, I was in the jungle with Aldwin yesterday morning, and now I've woken up this morning. Was I asleep for so long? Oh my God!"
Emily decided to take a bath and go to the university today. She took a long bath, looked at her reflection in the mirror for a while, and then got dressed. She ate bread and an omelet before going to pack her bags. As she was packing, she noticed two sheets of paper lying on the table, and the fan was blowing them around. Emily smiled as she picked up the papers, put them in her bag, and left the room.
As soon as she entered the main gate of Western Black University, she could see various kinds of flowers on both sides of the sidewalk. The university authorities plant seasonal flowers, and this winter they have planted Sylvia trees on both sides of the sidewalk. Once inside the campus, one can feel a different daze. The Sylvia trees' blood-red color on both sides creates a divine atmosphere.
Emily and Jennifer are sitting at the back desk, but Emily didn't want to sit here. Jennifer forcibly made Emily sit with her because she had many urgent consultations with her. Mrs. Nusba is taking classes and reciting a poem by Elliott. Emily is trying to listen to the poem attentively but can't due to Jennifer's constant whispering. The girl kept whispering,
"Look, I thought I would finish graduation and then think about marriage; but they hurried me away from home. They want me to get married now. I will marry Nin Jin. And I am not in love with anyone else. Then, what's the problem?"
"That's right." Emily replied inattentively.
"Please tell me, what's the story about them being big puppies? I have accepted that they have no objection to my studies after marriage. They know what my parents demand. Still. "
Emily raised her voice, sounding a little upset about the clouds. Although the words could be said while sitting in the canteen, Emily List was very impatient. Mrs. Nusba twisted and turned from what she taught in class and asked questions in the midterm or semester finals. With a little concentration in class, it was possible to score a very high test mark. Emily said,
"Dude, can't we talk about it in the canteen?" Jennifer became silent.
Mrs. Nusba's reading of poetry was not over yet, and Emily was fascinated. There was pin drop silence throughout the class. After finishing the poem, Mrs. Nusba put the book on the table and looked at Emily, gesturing with her hand. Emily stood up, and Mrs. Nusba asked her,
"Can you tell me, 'What is love?' I don't want a memorized answer. Just share with us what you think from your point of view."
Everyone in the class was busy, but now they all looked at Emily at once. Emily stood still, not understanding what to say in reply because love had never come into her life and she was completely ignorant about it. The whole class waited for Emily's answer, and sweat dripped from her forehead. Suddenly, Emily felt a cold hand touch her cheeks, causing her to close her eyes. Immediately, she went into a flashback, and every story about her and Aldwin that had happened seemed to come alive before her eyes. Emily started breathing fast, and everyone in the class looked at her in amazement.
"Emily, are you okay?"
Emily returned to reality after calling Mrs. Nusba. She glanced at the whole class and saw Aldwin standing next to Nusba. Emily's face came out in a faint voice,
"Love is invisible, but you can see it all the time. Love is when someone protects you without any commitment. Love is when someone cares about you without any complaint. Love is a feeling that you can't explain with words. It's a powerful sense of empathy toward one's beloved, feeling the other person's pain as their own, and being willing to sacrifice anything for them."
The whole class was completely silent at Emily's answer. Mrs. Nusbao was quite surprised. Suddenly, the whole class applauded. Emily looked at Aldwin and smiled. Aldwin threw a flying kiss at Emily. Emily seemed to catch everyone's eye as if she had caught the flying kiss. Mrs. Nusba came forward and thanked Emily. "That was a very nice answer. I like it," she said.
"Thank you, ma'am," Emily replied.
The doorbell rang. "Okay, students. In the next class, you will base your notes on the other three series of the movie. All the best," Mrs. Nusba said before leaving. Aldwin was nowhere to be seen. Jennifer poked Emily and said, "My dear, you have never fallen in love in your life. But how did you explain the feeling of love so beautifully?"
"Do I have to have practical experience to answer a question?" Emily asked.
"No, that's not it."
"Let's go to the canteen. I'm hungry. I had two loaves of bread and an omelet in the morning," Emily said.
Jennifer was shocked to hear about the omelet. "Did you eat an omelet?"
"Yes, why?" Emily replied.
Saying this, Emily herself went silent. She didn't like eggs. She couldn't eat them even if she was tied up. But how did she eat the omelet today? Did Aldwin make it? Was Emily changing her habits within a few days?
"Why are you silent?" Jennifer asked.
"My body was feeling very weak for a few days. So I was forced to eat an omelet today. My nose was closed while eating. I thought I was taking medicine," Emily explained.
"I don't understand your story. You've changed a lot in a few days," Jennifer said.
Emily spoke in a weak voice, "Nothing like that. Let's skip the research and go to the canteen. The next class will start soon."
"Come on," Jennifer urged, and together they set foot in the canteen.
As they sat down, Jennifer chattered away, but Emily's mind wandered. Jennifer nudged her.
"What are you always thinking about?"
"Umm... nothing," Emily replied absentmindedly.
Suddenly, Emily's phone rang. She answered it and turned away from Jennifer. After a moment, she turned back to her friend.
"I have to go."
"Where?" Jennifer asked.
"Home; the manager from Dad's office came for some files." Emily replied hurriedly .
"What about class?"
"Don't worry, I'll take notes from you," Emily answered.
Soon, Emily was behind the wheel of her car, driving towards the forest where Aldwin had taken her the day before. Yes, she had lied to Jennifer about her plans, but she couldn't help feeling drawn back to the peaceful woods.
