Chapter 5 - Emily's feeling

Aldwin sits close to Emily's head, holding her hand firmly in both hands. A while ago, while talking to Emily, he turned around and saw her faint. He splashed water on her face, but she closed her eyes again. Then, Aldwin took Emily home. After a while, Emily regained consciousness. She looked to the side and saw Aldwin holding her hand tightly. Aldwin noticed that Emily had come to her senses.

"How do you feel now? You scared me too. Why did you suddenly faint?" Aldwin spoke quickly.

"Slowly. How can someone ask so many questions to a sick person?" Emily replied.

"Well, I'm sorry. I was so scared," Aldwin said.

"My head was spinning suddenly, maybe that's why," Emily said.

Suddenly, the power went out. Emily hugged Aldwin in fear. Silence filled the entire house, occasionally interrupted by the sound of rain pouring down on the ground at double speed. Nature seemed to be calling for a new love story, with a lifeless body as the protagonist and a very common heroine, as is often the case with all stories.

Aldwin did not know how long Emily had been drowning in his embrace. Suddenly, Emily began to feel very cold, and her body trembled. Aldwin pulled Emily away from his chest, and in the dark, Emily couldn't see his face.

"I'll go get a candle," Aldwin said.

With that, Aldwin walked over to the corridor. Emily moved the screen a little and looked outside. Everything seemed like a dream to her. Well, is something like the Twilight movie going to happen in her life? A different kind of feeling has been at work in Emily since he hugged Aldwin. He does not know the meaning of this feeling. Aldwin returned with the wax in his hand. The darkness of the house is gone. She put wax on the wardrobe. Emily is coughing, feeling discomfort in her throat. These types of coughs start to tickle the throat. Aldwin asked,

"Have coffee?"

"Will you make it?"

"Huh?"

"What do you need to make? You have extraordinary power. Use it."

Aldwin said in a simple voice,

"As long as I'm with you, I try to forget my world. I'll still make coffee the way I made it before I died."

There is a kind of hidden pain in Aldwin's words. He wants to keep her pain at bay but can't. The matter is clear to Emily. Is that the case with the incorporeal? Do they have feelings too? Do they have the ability to understand pain, good, and bad?

"I'll have coffee."

"You come with me. Otherwise, you may be scared."

"The one I was scared to see is standing in front of me! You make it up. I won't go."

As soon as Emily finished speaking, the whole house became clear for a moment in the electric light. Emily quickly grabbed her ear and said in a weak voice,

"Let's go."

Aldwin is making coffee very carefully. Emily is standing next to him, watching coffee making with attention. Seeing him, it doesn't look like he came from any mortuary. Aldwin poured coffee into a mug and added sugar. The smoky hot coffee passed to Emily. Emily said with a sip of the coffee mug,

"The coffee is good. I never really thought you could make such good coffee."

"When I was in the hostel, my other friends were very appreciative of my hand-made coffee. I had to make daily coffee and they drank it." Aldwin could not finish, even though he began to speak with childlike enthusiasm. He said quietly,

"Leave it. My world is different now. Why am I saying these things? Let's go to the room and sit down."

Emily was upset. She wants to know more about Aldwin. She started walking towards the house.

"Emily, open the thyglass? The speed of the rain is low. Let some free air enter the room."

"Ok"

The power comes on and the fan on top of Emily's head starts to spin. Emily has been in a dilemma for so long, suddenly realizing that her notes are not finished and she needs to take them to university tomorrow.

"Well, you go now. I have some work to do," Aldwin says.

"Okay," Emily replies.

With that, Aldwin disappears in front of Emily. She pauses for a moment, then turns on her laptop and gets busy making notes again.

Jennifer stands in front of the mirror, combing her hair with an annoyed face. The mirror is placed opposite the light, and she can't see her appearance clearly. Jennifer loves to decorate, so she needs enough light. She moves to stand in front of the window with a small mirror, and at that moment, Mrs. Minsoo enters the room. Minsoo is Jennifer's mother, and Jennifer always thinks her mother's name is more beautiful than hers. Sometimes she even jokes, "Come on, mother. Let's change our names. I'll call you Jennifer from today, and you can call me Minsoo." Hearing her daughter's words, Minsoo bursts out laughing.

"Jennifer, today Nin Jin will drop you off at university," Minsoo says.

"Suddenly?" Jennifer looks back at her mother with a lot of questions in her eyes.

"No, not like that. Your father said you always go to varsity alone. Nin Jin will go with you today."

"I go to university to study, not for walks. People take their whole family when they go out. I can't take my family's melodrama there."

"Why are you angry?"

"I have a lot of acquaintances at university, Mom. I won't go to university with him."

"Why are you talking like this? In a few days, you will marry him."

"Okay, I won't go to university with my father's future son-in-law. First, I'll get married, and then we can talk about this."

Minsoo doesn't say anything and stands next to Jennifer. Jennifer then says in a voice wrapped around sharp eyes, "There's no benefit in standing. It's better to keep family matters confined within the family. There's no benefit in beating the drum for people all over the world."

"Do you have a relationship with anyone?" Minsoo asks.

"Yes," Jennifer replies.

"With whom?" Minsoo asks.

"I will break up with anyone before marriage," Jennifer says in a frightened voice.

"What are you talking about? Tell me if you like. We'll see the boy," Minsoo offers.

"You won't like the boy. He's younger than me," Jennifer says.

"Younger!"

"The younger boy is my junior, at the same age and in the same university," Minsoo said, looking at the girl with wide eyes. Was she listening? Whose words was she hearing? She couldn't believe her eyes and ears.

"How old is the boy?"

"He's in college now. You can call me wifey sister. Isn't it cute?" the girl replied.

Minsoo listened to her daughter and played sadly. Jennifer calmly walked out of the room with her bag slung over her shoulder. Mr. Anthony and Mr. Oskar were playing cards in the dining space. Jennifer's father, Anthony, loved playing cards. Whenever someone his age came over to the house, he sat down to play and chat with them. In the middle of their conversation, he called for Minsoo again and asked him to make strong coffee. Anthony didn't drink tea; he believed it was a drink for poor people. Drinking coffee gave him a royal feeling. Jennifer pretended not to see them and started walking towards the front door. Mr. Anthony called out to her as soon as he saw her.

"Mom, are you going to the university?" he asked.

Jennifer stood up and replied, "Yeah."

"That's enough! Nin Jin, come over here," Anthony said.

"He doesn't need to. You play cards. I'll go alone," Jennifer retorted.

Saying this, Jennifer snorted and left the house. The sound of her footsteps descending the stairs was clear. Nin Jin's father, Oskar, looked at his son and gestured. Nin Jin left the cards and followed after Jennifer.

Jennifer was waiting for a taxi. She didn't want to go to the university in her father's car. The ventricle was standing behind the clouds. Jennifer wasn't saying anything. A few minutes later, an empty taxi arrived, and she got in. Nin Jin also got in with her. Jennifer said,

"I told you that you didn't have to come. I'll go alone. Why are you still coming?"

Nin Jin didn't seem to have heard Jennifer. He told the taxi driver,

"You can go." Jennifer's mood had already soured. She didn't like having a boy sitting beside her, and she didn't like walking hand in hand in front of everyone. But the boy didn't seem to be leaving her side. She decided to talk to Emily about this. Only Emily would be able to give her effective wisdom to survive this calamity.
