It's been a week since the landing and annexation of the main island and capital. The other islands should be annexed by now as Youden could see boats coming back to the main one in the distance, watching from the shore they landed on that first night.
Ever since then, new rules and laws had immediately set up in place. Every person on the main island, man, woman, or child, would have to swear loyalty to the new leader and anyone against doing so would result in instant death. That night was pleasing as most of them quickly gave in. A few resisted or even refused, but they were taking care of real quickly. He automatically renamed the nation to Liyoden, after himself of course. He immediately announced to the ones left that there would be plenty of work to be done. Jungle would have to be cleared and improvements would be made immediately. He could hear tinkering in the distance as they were beginning to build new factories for mass production of their latest inventions. He could see the islanders slowly working on roads and paths to make travel faster and better not so far from him. His programs were working better then expected. Thinking about improvements, he remembered Lina wanted to show him something important.
He ran past those workers, with them saluting at them as he passed. He traveled through the the capital with it's people shopping for goods, food, and supplies or to work with their new currency, the Youd. Yes it was a lame name, but the old currency was as worthless as the trash the islanders were living in, so it would make no difference. It wasn't even that hard to change as the islanders quickly converted to it. He finally reached his destination, which was once a storage room for food and other supplies and now where they researched and created new things. You know, it would be better to travel faster instead of walking, he thought about. Yes, they could have used horses and the carriage, but they weren't able to bring them here and plus the ground here wasn't suitable from them anyway.
He finally opened the double door and was amazed at what was inside. There were many new and strange creations laid out around with people working on many of them. He noticed that they were placed mostly based on what they could do or it's purpose in about 4 noticeable sections. One was working on powers and allowing one to increase or use their powers better then previously imagined. Another was technological, where Lina was at, working with others to make what would appear to become a large object with wheels on it. The two other ones were on weapons and material production. On my powers are we going above and beyond, he thought with impression, at the rate we are going we will be so advanced that even powers will struggle to take us out!
"Lina, what marvel are you creating now? This is impressive!" Youden gleamed with pride.
"Well sir, we noticed how time-consuming it is to walk and move around quicker, even back on the mainland, so we are building a prototype of what we think could solve that in two ways without the use of powers, on land and in the air."
"In the air? What do you mean?" Youden questioned. "Don't we already have powers for that?"
"But what about the ones that don't, like me, or who powers could be more useful with this. We are going to achieve flight with machines!" she smiled while saying.
"Okay, so when will this all be completed? I've estimated with the generals and others in planning, that we will, in two years, will be prepared to invade the mainland and I'm going to assume that we might be attacked from other nations during the process." Youden stated, "So, whatever the answer is, you have two months to get it done, or something that works in a way. We have plenty of work to still do so let's get it done folks."
"Yes sir!" All the workers shouted and saluted at him in unison.
Youden quickly left the building and walked towards a house that was his new home. From inside it wasn't fancy or lavish, nor was it poor or in terrible-condition, but was just enough to get by. Plus, once or if he took over Saputa, would he then move to the living quarters of the now would-be former ruler. But if this is what it took to attract Boom ,then so be it. From the window, he could see some civilians beginning to construct walls to defend from invaders. They'll soon begin building forts too. Youden knew just in case the invasion failed, which he believed would be extremely unlikely, then the defense of Liyoden would have to hold them off long enough for his soldiers to regroup and prepare to counter. But hopefully there won't be a need for that, because he knew that with planning this serious, that failure will be extremely low. And he had no excuses for it either.
