3 months before the invasion...
Jamal woke up to bright light. Where am I, he groggily thought. The light from above was shining deep into his dark eyes. He tried to raise his hands to cover his face, but there was no energy to do so. In fact, he was still pretty tired and his body ached a bit, but it wasn't as bad as before. What happened, he questioned himself, and how did I get here? Then he remembered. He got knocked down by Boom and was almost left alone to find his way back home. But then, he barely remembered but, that he got frustrated and was full of rage. That is allowed him to actually hurt Boom and punch him into the air. But what happened after that he didn't remember. Did rage really make me stronger, he wondered, the angrier I become, the more powerful I get? But that couldn't be it, could it?
"You're finally awake. I almost thought you were dead if you were barely breathing." a deep voice spoke to him. "I'm not gonna lie to you, I went a little overboard at the end, but you almost got me excited. Then again, I did almost kill you as well so there's that. But on the bright side, you survived."
"Boom, did you just say you almost killed me? Wait, I think you punched me high in the sky as I blacked out. You know, it's not like you basically, I don't know, almost wiped me out of existence properly. How am I suppose to train if you probably broke several bones since it seems that's what you want to do apparently." Jamal questioned.
"Don't worry, it was like, only fifty of them from your chest down." Boom calmly announced with a shrug.
"Fifty broken bones!" Jamal barely screeched at him. "Oh my, you did try to kill me! What type of fight did you expect! That I'm basically a god so powerful that you need to kill me! I'm not even an adult yet, and you out here trying to kill teens and probably little kids too. Yeah, I'm good."
Jamal tried to get up, but a burst of pain temporarily stopped him. Where did this come from? He didn't feel this bad a moment ago. But he couldn't be in a room with a murderer, so he fought through it and tried to go around Boom, but Boom wouldn't budge by the door.
"Yeah, please let me pass. I don't need to be here anymore. And you can go ahead and pay for the hospital bill because this is all cause of you." Jamal explained to him with fury.
"I don't think I can do that. You can barely walk, plus I haven't even told you about why." Boom mentioned.
"You don't have to explain why. You can tell that to the children you've killed and murdered brutally." Jamal said. "Now get out my way, before I make you."
"You're still injured. Come sit down." Boom tried to grab and move him to a seat.
"Don't touch me!" Jamal screamed at him with his entire right arm on fire and aiming his hand at him. "I'm not afraid to hurt you. Leave me alone. Don't come near me, don't talk to me, don't even look or think about me. I don't know you and you don't know me."
"But Jamal, your power..." Boom tried to tell him as he moved closer.
"Don't move any closer or I'll send you right here and right now. I'm serious." Jamal said, the flames growing brighter.
"Look, let's not fight in the hospital first of all. Second, you don't even know what I'm trying to tell you about your power. Your hidden potential." Boom attempted to explain.
"Hidden potential? I don't believe in myths. This is real life, not some fake legend." Jamal commented with a chuckle, the fire dying down but his hand still up. "What are you even talking about."
"I'll just make this quick. There have been cases of people who appeared to have extremely weak powers at birth or an early age, but that activate in extreme stress later in life. Basically, our "little fight" allowed for you to be able to bring out such potential. The only problem is that I've seen this before once and it's hard to control, even if you were to try." Boom revealed, "But it was too late to do anything about it when I saw it happen."
"What happened?" Jamal asked, this time with his hand going down and the flames from his arm disappearing.
"It got out of control and let's just say he was never the same." Boom stated, "The person was Youden which you may or may not have heard about, he was my former friend and now my enemy. I don't think and I'll hope that you'll not end up like him, but it'll be better to explain on our way there."
"Our way to where?" Jamal confusingly asked.
"On the way to the spot where we are training. And I'm serious. I have a lot to explain and not much time to do so. Because once I think you're ready, we're hunting down Youden and finishing him once and for all." Boom remarked, "Now let's go!"
