Jamal heard the ding and watched the elevator open. He walked towards his room and opened the door with his key. I won't be needing this again, as he placed it on the counter the room had and closed the door. I'll just take what I can and go. He went into the bathroom and looked at the dried blood on his face. Oh yeah, I almost forget that I fought Hops. He cleaned himself up and found a bag he would be able to put his clothes in.
"I'm really going to leave this place to find a man that can take powers, and for all I know, can't or won't ever return them. All I know, is that this might a different person or a myth over there, but I have nothing to lose," he muttered to himself.
Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door.
"Who is it? I'm not going to be here for long," he said getting ready to dip.
"It's just me, Ula." she quietly told him through it.
Oh great, some sympathy. He looked in the peephole only to see Ula in view. He opened the door for her to walk in. Once she was through, he closed it.
"Look, I don't have much time, but I really need to get going. I'm going to reward-" he began speaking until she hugged him.
"Please don't go." Ula started to say, beginning to cry.
Are you serious right now, maybe I'm being too nice, he thought, and plus I barely even know this girl?
"Um, are you good?"
"Just please-please don't leave us! Boom didn't get to tell you everything."
"Oh, I've heard enough to make my own conclusions, and what he did was wrong."
"But what Youden will do is worse." she sputtered out looking at him. "He'll kill anyone and do what it takes to get Boom to fight him again."
"And why should I believe he said that."
"Because he cares for you! Don't you get it! He's getting older and isn't going to be in his prime for long. He needs us!" she whimpered.
"Well, he should have finished him and not depend on some kids from nowhere to do his job," he said as he was walking out the door.
"Jamal!" Ula cried out.
He stopped in his tracks. He couldn't turn around but did so anyway. The voice of despair couldn't allow him to resist. He looked at Ula, actually crying and sobbing, and fell to the ground. My god, he pondered, is she really serious about this?
"Please-please don't leave. We need you. We all need you." she whispered at him.
For a second, he almost considered walking out on her. But then again, why would she be making this much of a scene? What was there to cry about? But maybe Boom had a reason for him to be here, and that he was here for a purpose. He watched her crying, looking at him, almost as if begging him to stay. What am I about to do now.
"Okay, I'll stay, but only to finish what Boom couldn't do. I just can't watch you cry anymore. This doesn't look like something you would do, but if it gets you to stop then so bet it." he finally said.
"You know you're right." she said more seriously but still a bit quiet, and the sniffling stopped, "My childhood consisted of me having to act, and with practice comes skill. I didn't want to do this, but Boom made me come up, but what I said is the truth though. When you left, he told us that before he blasted him away, he said he'll come back to finish him and the people he cared for. What a story."
And of course, it was a lie.
"But I did fall for it sadly." he exhaled, a bit disappointed.
"Heh, you're not the only one. Maybe I'll see you later if you still aren't attending to still leave to find him yourself." she said, walking out the door and closing it almost laughing at him.
Dang, she was good. But I'll continue to train and take on Youden myself, whether I can persuade him or not. I need to keep my relationships good with the others as best as possible and show them that I'm serious, he knew as he continued to stay with the idea. Jamal's time had finally come and he was not going to let it go by that easily.
