Chapter 54 - 54- Annoying goddess

>>>>>[Ais POV]<<<<

"{Ariel}" I chanted, making my body get surrounded by green wind.

He looked at me astonished, but I could see in his eyes that he was more amused than anything.

'I hate that' every time we fight, I know he's holding back a lot, at the beginning it made me angry but I soon realized that I'm no match for him.

But maybe that's for the better? Every time we spar, I learn a lot, he's the challenge that I needed to become stronger.

But I don't see him as only that, I see him as a friend, one that has gone through a lot, I can't help but feel like a little kid in front of him.

After our talk in the dungeon, I feel more… alive? I didn't know how to explain that strange feeling, I even asked Loki to check my status to see if something had changed, and something indeed changed.

{Ariel} had gone up by a rank, I was impressed by this, it's been in the same rank for the longest time and it changed now? And what's stranger I didn't even level up for my skill to rank up.

But there's no time to think about that now, I just know that with this, I'll be able to force him to show a little bit more of his strength.

Taking a deep breath, I felt how Ariel's wind seemed calmer, more… refined.

Making it swirl around me heightening my speed tremendously, I jumped at Calvin slashing with my sword.

>>>>>>[General POV]<<<<<<

Ais slashed at Calvin at incredible speeds.

Calvin wanted to dodge her, but if he did, she was fast enough to attack once more before he could react, so he decided to block her, but this time he was going to use [Beli ma] to its fullest, he didn't want what happened with Dix to repeat.

*Clang!*

After their encounter, Calvin quickly counter-attacked, using the strength of Ais's previous attack but she swiftly dodged it and attacked again.

*Clang!* *Ting!* *Klang!*

Their sword collided, but both of them stood on their feet not taking a single step back, until Ais's attacks became fiercer, the wind surrounding her became stronger swirling around her sword until she finally broke through Calvin's guard, making him take a step back in which moment she held her sword to her opposite shoulder pointing at Calvin, and delivered a powerful thrust aiming at his neck!

Calvin then bent back barely dodgy the fierce attack and backflipped away from her, making distance between them.

As soon as he touched the ground, he looked in front of him, only to see no one.

"What?" he muttered before looking upwards and seeing Ais slashing downwards with her sword.

'This is it! He won't be able to take the full force of my attack and will dodge again' She speculated thinking that victory was already hers.

But she wasn't ready for what would happen next.

Calvin held Gram in the air aiming to block her attack!

Suddenly, Calvin's arm turned a shiny metallic black and dark blue, that extended past his grip and onto Gram itself covering half of the sword in solidified Bent.

*Cling!*

Ais's attack reached Gram but nothing more than a tinging sound was heard, no gust of wind, no dust cloud, no nothing.

His other arm turned back as well and he jumped at Ais that was still airborne, feeling her momentum disappear she barely had time to move before he punched her in the stomach!

'Take your attack back Ais! But not just that! Take 200% of it!' (For those who don't want to think, it means double the strength of her attack)

As Calvin's fist impacted Ais a gust of wind in the form of a cone came from Ais's back due to the sheer force of the impact.

(Smash!)

"Gah!" Ais grunted before her eyes rolled back and the wind caused by {Ariel} dissipated.

'Oops did I hit her too hard? And I was about to add [charged attack] into that punch' he thought, landing on the ground and catching Ais on a princess carry.

He looked back at the team and found that everyone except Learner and Wiene was dumbfounded at the result of the fight.

'You wouldn't be that surprised if you put more trust in me' he thought shaking his head, but then he noticed that Hestia was at the door with her jaw on the ground but he also noticed how her complexions seemed to be getting paler by the second.

"YOU KILLED AIS!?" Hestia screamed

'Ugh this again?' he thought, rolling his eyes at the annoying goddess.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hestia had calmed down a little after Calvin explained the situation but that didn't mean that she wasn't angry anymore she told him to go to follow her to her room while the others looked after Ais.

And while the others did as they were told, Calvin didn't have a reason to obey her at all, or that's what he thought until he felt how his demeanor changed completely, and she seemed more attractive? No… it was more like a familiar sense of caring and not wanting to make her angry.

'This bitch! She using her shitty divinity again!' he angrily thought, but that anger slowly subsided as his body moved on its own following Hestia to her room.

He stepped inside the room as she locked the door behind him and sat on the edge of the bed and putting one leg over the other empathizing her spotless white legs, and feet, that somehow don't get dirty even though she's always barefoot.

"Honestly You almost gave me a heart attack!" She said in an 'angry' tone.

"I already told you we were just sparring" Calvin explained.

"Even so! Don't you know how to treat a woman!? you were too rough!" Hestia exclaimed.

"wh-" He was about to say something but Hestia cut him off.

"Anyways… I had a tiring morning with all the gods, and I came here walking, do you mind giving me a massage?" she asked with a mocking smile and lifted her leg higher as a sign for him to massage her feet.

'This woman…' he wanted to refuse but her divinity was really making it hard for him.

"*sigh* why are you even doing this? Shouldn't gods be immune to mortal pains?"

"Because I'm upset! I was in a big reunion between gods and I didn't know anything! I felt like an idiot, and you haven't told me who you really are until now!" she exclaimed

"You are though…" he murmured.

"What did you say?" she asked having heard what he said.

"I said that you are an idiot" Calvin firmly said, looking down at her with a cold glare.

"You are just a fool, you might have the status of a god but you don't act like that at all, and when you get 'serious' its usually something pointless, in fact I first thought that you were just a girl playing God, and why would I even tell you my origin? Just because you are 'my' God doesn't mean that I'll tell you everything, and it just shows your incompetence, you made me join your Familia even though you knew nothing about me, what if I had some ulterior motives?"

Hestia just sat in the bed receiving a scolding from her own 'son', she tried taking those words to face, but she found her lips pursing at the knife-like truths that Calvin was speaking, and soon after her eyes became watery.
