Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Is He King George II?

(Edited)

Violet kept on looking at the mysterious man calmly eating his dinner opposite her.

Violet had lost her appetite to eat. She was not sure if this was because she was in an awkward position or because of the person who looked like her ex-husband, King George II of the Kingdom of Aprivepan.

She didn't know if this was only a coincidence or if she's just mistaken, but the resemblance was so uncanny.

"Jane, don't you like the food?" Mrs. Shaw asked as she looked at her worriedly.

Violet looked around the table and she saw that everyone was paying attention to their food except her. The entire dining table was so quiet that you could hear if someone dropped a neddle.

"No, Mrs. Shaw! They tastes pretty good!" She said while forcing a smile on her face.

"Then, what's the problem? Are you okay? Does your head aches?" Mrs. Shaw's motherly instinct kicked in and she checked on Violet.

"No! I'm fine. It's just that I am worried that my roommate will look for me. I didn't inform her that I am staying overnight here." She said her excuse.

"Oh! I'm sorry. Don't worry. I'll call your dorm mother and informed her of your whereabouts." Mrs. Shaw told her.

"Thank you, Mrs. Shaw." She politely said while trying to wipe off her sweaty palm on her jeans.

She then turned her attention to the food in front of her.

She could only stomach a little and she politely excused herself from the dinning table. General Shaw didn't stop her and let her go to her assigned guestroom.

Seeing that Violet was looking sick, Mrs. Shaw suddenly became worried.

She then asked one of the servants to follow her.

As soon as Violet got inside her room, she locked the door immediately and rushed towards the toilet to puke.

She could not understand what she was feeling at the moment.

She was heavily sweating and she felt dizzy. She felt like all the bile inside her stomach rushed up on her throat and she wanted to vomit all of them. This bitterness. She didn't like it at all.

Why was fate so fond of messing with her life? She could not help but ask.

She then heard a knock on the door and she immediately got up to rinse her bitter mouth.

It took her a while to answer the door.

When she did, Mrs. Shaw was now looking at her worriedly.

"Are you okay? You look so pale." She asked.

"I'm fine Mrs. Shaw." She said with a stiff smile.

"No, you don't look okay. I'll call the doctor." Mrs. Shaw insisted.

"Please Mrs. Shaw. I'm really fine. I just need to rest or sleep. No need to call the doctor, okay?" She pleaded. No doctor could treat her anyways.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes. Positive." She said. She really wanted to ask who the man was but she was afraid that Mrs. Shaw would call her nosy. So she decided not to.

This anxiety that she's feeling was worst when she saw his face as he kept on reminding her of what her husband had done to her whether it was him or not.

The only thing that was comforting her was that they didn't sound the same. Her ex-husband had a lighter voice tone but he had a huskier and more baritone voice.

"Okay. I'll check on you from time to time to make sure that you're okay." She then handed her a pouch containing makeup. She knew her secret so she's willing to help her in hiding it.

"Clean yourself up and then rest early so that you'll feel better. Don't worry, I have the key to your room." She told her.

"Thank you Mrs. Shaw." Violet was grateful. She forgot to bring her bag with her. She thought that she'd be quick. But it turned out she'd be having a sleep over.

She could not sleep with all these thick foundation on her face. And she had to free her hair from being hidden under the wig.

So she definitely needed this.

Mrs. Shaw left and Violet immediately locked the door behind her and heaved a sigh.

Even if he's indeed King George II, he won't recognize her unless she revealed her true face. The face hidden behind this thick make up.

Or what if his situation was also like her? What if he only looked like King George II but was not really King George II? That could be possible given that they didn't sound the same.

She didn't sound like herself either. Jane's voice was much softer and sweeter than hers.

It happened to her so she won't be surprised if he only looked like King George II but actually not King George II.

As she thought of this, her head ached even more.

So she decided to give up on the matter for now and think about it later.

She then placed the pouch on the bed beside the pair of clean pajamas for her to wear for the night.

There was also a clean shirt and jeans for her to probably wear tomorrow. Two pairs of clean underwear were also there.

She looked around and saw how big the room was. It was doubled the size of her room back at their dorm. There was also an appliance that give off cold air to the room. It was an air conditioner from what Jane's memory told her.

The bed was quite big. Bigger than her bed in the hotel which she had shared with Mrs. Sanchez.

She then sat on it and she was surprised that it was soft yet bouncy. And she liked it.

A small smile crept on her lips.

She sighed and then removed the heavy wig off her head. And let her platinum blonde hair to fall down her back.

She then opened the pouch and saw that she had most of whatever was inside it. She won't have a hard time using them.

She took the cotton pad and opened the bottle of makeup remover from the pouch and poured the content on the cotton making it wet.

She then smudged the wet cotton on her face and started cleaning her face.

She then went into the sink and wash it off with water.

When she was done, she then decided to take a bath to remove the rest of the cosmetics on her body using soap and lukewarm water.

She went out from the shower wearing a robe and a towel was wrapped around her wet hair.

She then sat down in front of the dressing table with the pouch on her hand. She then opened it and took a bottle containing skin care product. She then opened it and applied a liquid serum in which she recalled from Jane's memory, that could help in repairing the damaged cells on her face caused by the excessive use of cosmetics during the day.

Geez! She didn't know that the skin care routine here in this world was so much. And their products were mostly with chemicals though they advertised it as pure natural.

These products would do for now. Then, an idea popped up in her mind.

Another beautiful smile was formed on her lips.

She then removed the robe off her body and grabbed the set of new pajamas and underwear for her to wear.

She had already placed her dirty clothes in the clean plastic bag so she could add them on her laundry tomorrow after school.

"Geez! I still have to look for work."

When she was done changing, she sat on the center of the bed and sat on a lotus position.

The life and spiritual energy in this place was a lot better than when she was in the hospital.

She was concentrating in gathering them when she heard someone's voice on her head.

No, more like lonely thoughts of someone nearby.

She was surprised by this development of Jane's gift. Telepathy?

Though she was surprised, she tried her best to keep quiet as she didn't know if the other person could hear her too.

So, she poured her concentration on it. She guessed based on the voice emitted by the thoughts that the person was a man. At least she could recognize the gender of the owner of the thought as it followed the owner's original voice.

There was so much pain and loneliness in the person's heart that she got affected badly.

Who was this person? Why was this person's thoughts affected her badly? But the voice sounded familiar, though.

However, she was not able to control her mind and the person jolted from the other side. She knew as she could hear his surprised thoughts.

"Who are you?" The person asked her through telepathy.

This made Violet to retreat as she was afraid the latter could trace her.

Beads of sweat were pouring from her forehead and her pajamas had become wet even if the air-conditioning was in maximum.

"That was close!" She exclaimed.

"Jane, who are you?" She asked herself.

Violet then looked at herself soaked in sweat so she had no other choice but to remove them or she was sure that she'll get sick.

She then placed them on the chair to let it dry overnight.

Now, she had no other choice but to sleep with only her underwear.

She then adjusted the air-conditioner to make the room not so cold.

When she was done, she then turned off the night lamp and get underneath the sheets.

She closed her eyes hoping that she'd fell asleep for the night after what happened.

Maybe Jane's body could not take everything that had happened and she was immediately in deep sleep minutes after.

She didn't even realize that someone had twisted the knob of her door and it opened.

A pair of shiny black shoes could only be seen slowly walking towards her.

(A/N: of course, there's someone wearing that shoes. Definitely not a ghost.)

Then, a man wearing a magician's hat appeared behind him out of nowhere. He was his subordinate.

"Master?" The man's subordinate spoke but was silenced by the man.

"Shh! Keep quiet. You'll only disturb her sleep."

"Master, do you think she's the one?" He asked in almost a whisper to his master.

"I'm not sure." The man said.

"She's very beautiful. If she's not the one, can I have her instead?" He praised.

"No!" He firmly rejected his subordinate's request.

Seeing that his Master was angry, he immediately kept quiet and disappeared.

Sensing that his nosy subordinate was finally away, the man came closer.

Because only the lights from the moon outside was illuminating the room, his face could not be seen clearly.

Violet groaned when she felt someone was watching her while she was sleeping.

When she opened her eyes, she immediately looked around to see if someone had snuck inside her room.

Seeing that no one was there, she decided to close her eyes again and went back to sleep.

The man who was previously inside her room was now standing on top of the bigest branch of the tree outside the house looking at her sleeping figure intently through the window.

It's such a shame that his face was hidden by the darkness. So no one could recognize him when he blend in with the others during the day.

'We will meet again, little girl.' He said on his thoughts.

Violet who had just gotten back to sleep immediately woke up when she heard that familiar voice in het thoughts. It was definitely him. The man with the lonely heart.

"Sh*t!" She inwardly cursed inside.
