Chapter 40 - Dorms

Aaron stood in the auditorium, waiting for something to happen. It was boring just standing around. People were talking with eachother, but, as expected, Aaron was not involved in any of the conversations. He was so short that it would be annoying trying to crouch down enough to talk to him. He was fine with this. The less people who talked to him, the less people he had to worry about finding out what he looked like. As the last group of students walked inside, the door into the auditorium closed.

An adult standing against the wall walked up onto the stage, as they began to speak into a microphone, so that the large amount of students would be able to hear them.

"So, you all have been given your Rank! I'm just going to go over what will be happening over the next few days! Today, you will be assigned a dorm room, in which you will share with two other people! Tomorrow, you will be given a special watch, showing the score you were given, which also has a GPS built in. It will show your location should we ever need to know where you are! It will also tell you which room your base room will be in tomorrow, so be sure to pay attention. It will alert you by vibrating at half seven, which is when you should start heading to your assigned class."

Aaron continued to listen to the person standing up on the stage speaking, as he processed the information being spoken to him. He needed to remember this so he wouldn't forget it tomorrow. He needed this information so that he could get by in this school. There was a lot of things he didn't know about this school, so he needed as much information as possible.

The door out of the auditorium opened up, as names, along with dorm numbers, began to be called out at random. He didn't recognise any of the names, as he had yet to associate himself with anyone there. All of the numbers were in the 'one-hundred' zone, but the numbers after that appeared to be random. After about thirty minutes, he finally heard his name being called out, and he was told to go to 'male dorm 103' . Aaron reasoned that each year had a new dorm, and that, should he be here next year, he'd be moved up to room '203', and so on.

A keycard appeared in his hand, and he began to walk out of the auditorium. The dorms were attached to the school, so he had didn't have to walk very far. He approached a door that said 'male dorms'. He walked inside, and saw a line of dorm rooms. He, very quickly, found his dorm room, as it was one of the first rooms. He opened the door, using his keycard, and walked in. He saw another person there, but they appeared to be just tapping away at their phone, so he didn't pay them any heed. He just jumped up onto one of the empty beds, and sat down, and thought to himself. He was curious on how this was going to work. He just had to hope the people in his dorm weren't curious people.

The person sitting on the bed looked up from their phone, as saw a small person sitting on the bed infront of him, with a mask covering their face. He was a little shocked, but he then tried to initiate conversation with Aaron.

"Hey there, dormmate. I'm Ray Cast. Who are you?" The person now known as Ray asked him. Aaron was quiet for a little bit, before giving his answer.

"Aaron. Aaron Stone." Aaron said, as his voice pitched up and down, due to the mask. He had to make sure as little about him was revealed as possible, and his voice was the main thing he would be using. Of course, the mask impeded his vision, but, if it kept who he was a secret, he was alright with that.

"Aaron Stone? From the Stone Family? That's incredible! Your parents are insanely famous!" Ray said, shocked at who the little guy was.

"Heh. Yeah, they are. It's quite annoying walking out into a crowd though. People just swarm them, asking for autographs and the like." Aaron said, lying. He didn't know what happened when they went out in public, but he did know that they were famous.

"How did you even get into this school? You look quite short, so I'm guessing you are young, right?" Ray asked, curious about Aaron.

'Fuck, this guy likes asking questions. Let's just pray that the next person won't ask many questions.' Aaron thought to himself.

"I got accepted by proving my worth to some people in the SLAVAL. Nothing more." Aaron said, trying to keep it as vague as possible.

"Well, let's wait for our next dormmate, Aaron. Let's see what they will be like!" Ray finished, as he went back onto his phone. Aaron didn't have a phone, so he just started talking to his system.

'Hey, system. Why do you rarely speak?' Aaron thought.

[Mainly because there's nothing to say. The only reason I speak is to provide information, unless I'm spoken to, and asked to have a conversation with.] The system replied.

'Well, do you want to have a conversation?'

[Sure. What do you want to talk about?]

'What would be the best way to go about not revealing what I look like?'

[Never take off the robe or the mask. Simple. And plus, you never have any need to. Your body is unable to carry or produce any dirt, or sweat, so there's no need to shower. It also doesn't excrete any solids or fluids, because it doesn't need to intake anything. You've essentially become a perfect, self-sufficient being. You also don't NEED sleep, but it is recommended that you do. To blend in. Although, there are occasions in which I will tell you to not sleep. Just for safety reasons.]

'Thanks. Now, I'm going to explore the school premises, so I can get an idea of how the school is laid out.'

[Alright. Always here if you need assistance.]

Aaron jumped off of the bed, as he began walking to the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Ray asked him.

"Exploring." Aaron replied, as he opened and then closed the door.
