Chapter 41 - Re-System

Aaron closed the door to his dorm, as he began walking out towards the exit. There was a common room which he had to pass through. Even though he had seen his dorm almost immediately, there was still a common room where people could relax. Aaron hoped that he could sit there one day and hope that nobody would ask him to show his face. At this point, however, that question was bound to appear quickly, so he made his way to the door, and left the male dorms behind.

He had to explore the school, so that he would know where to go. He didn't want to walk around, but he knew that if he learned where to go early, he wouldn't need to rely on his Boundless Telekinesis to go places. He walked along the halls of the school, as he saw people walking to and from their classes. None of them paid him any attention however, which was good. He was probably too short for them to notice. Height really does matter in scenarios like this.

He found a large area which wasn't the auditorium, and it looked like it had a battle arena in it.

'So, this is where we would be doing mock battles, huh? It'll be useful knowing where this place is. It'll be useful to physically train in.' Aaron thought to himself, as he imagined the scenarios in which he would find himself here, such as a class test, training, and other scenarios. He wouldn't take off the robe during any of it, so he would be fine.

Then, the system began to speak to him.

[Hey Aaron, I had an idea that could help you relieve some boredom while you are here.]

Aaron was shocked, but he was curious as to what it was going to provide him with, so he answered the question.

'What is it, System? I'm curious to see what you are going to provide me with this time.'

[Well, you know how you have a system for you Ultimate Form, showing unknown stats and the like? Well, how about one for your physical form here? It will help you keep track of your abilities, and will make sure that the power-tracking watch doesn't go insane, as you didn't have a physical way to track it before.]

Aaron thought about that. If the watch was to continuously glitch out, people would get curious, and then his identity might be revealed. If he could keep it at a solid number, that would be such an improvement to keeping his current look safe. It didn't even cross his mind.

'Set one up, system. Let's see what sort of little system board you set up for me this time.'

[Alright, give me a second.]

Aaron then spotted two extra tabs on top of the stat sheet.

[Quests]

[Crafting]

'System, what are thsoe extra tabs for?'

[Well, they are what will keep your boredom away, Aaron. The quests are just little things you can do, and the crafting will become VERY useful later on. Trust me. You'll save a LOT of money.]

Aaron was sceptical, but decided to accept it. He reckoned that he could make use of it later on, and this is when he received his first quest.

[Quest Received]

[Daily Quest]

[Practice Abilities for Ten Minutes]

[Minutes Practiced: 0/10]

[Reward: Ten Stat Points]

'System, you want me to train for ten minutes using my abilities, and you'll reward me for it?'

[Correct. It'll give you that little advantage later on. And plus, you'll need to be strong to take over the world.]

'Let me ask you a question. How many times will you pull up the "Taking over the world" idea I had before entering this world?'

[As many times as possible.]

'Well, that's good to know. Also, does having the corruption on my skin count the practicing with abilities goal?'

[No. You need to actively practice them.]

'Alright then. I'm going to go back to the dorm room and slightly levitate for ten minutes, so I can practice my Boundless Gravitational Manipulation.'

And with that, Aaron turned around, and began walking back to his dorm. A few people had walked past him while he was talking to the system, but none of them had any interest in talking to Aaron. 'He is antisocial enough to wear a full face mask in the school. He probably doesn't want to talk to people.' They had reasoned to themselves.

Aaron began his walk back to the dorm. He didn't actually explore much, but he had gotten something which, to him, was much more valuable. Especially considering that he didn't know what kind of quests he would be given by the system, or what kind of things were in the crafting menu. He walked through the common room, and stubbed his toe on the leg of a table. A few people looked at him, expecting at least a stumble out of him, but no, he just kept walking. He realised that he wasn't able to feel any pain the day before, and to test his theory, he slammed his head into the wall multiple times, but to no avail.

The 'Corrupted layer of skin', as he had named it, had disabled all of the bad effects of having nerve endings, so he could still feel things, but if he injured himself, he wouldn't notice. It was both a good thing and a bad thing, but, due to his white blood cells having multiplied, they injuries would heal much quicker. No need for a doctor.

He entered his dorm room, the time being 10 am, and he finally saw the second roommate. It was a male with a mixture of black and red hair, almost like a fire mixed with ash. A neat little colour scheme. He appeared to be quite tall, despite sitting down, but that could be perspective, due to Aaron's height. He appeared to be somewhat slim, but not extremely skinny. Healthy.

Aaron closed the door, and sat on the bed he had originally, and just began to meditate. Ray noticed this, but just left him alone, not realising that he was floating a centimetre off the ground. Of course, due to his height, it would have been nearly impossible, but he was very tempted to pull off the mask that was on Aaron's face to see what was under it.

He reached out his hand, and....
