Chapter 4 - Freedom?

After a days travel the party had finally reached Pitalcian. Ebijac and the man, whose name is Hy'Denar, had caught up with the party. They were not the least bit surprised when Ebijac had joined them.

Ebijac had to admire the city despite him loathing the citizens. However its beauty is not what is once was. Ebijac could still remeber the temples as though they were there yesterday. Beautiful buildings that would reflect the sun more brilliantly than the sun itself. But he could not dispute the excellent architecture done to make the newer buildings blend in with the older parts of the city. Despite them not utilising the sun.

The party entered the city. The guards at the gates greeted them each by name, except for Ebijac of course.

Ebijac turned his head to look over his shoulder where Hy'Denar held the reins of the horse.

"I'll be leaving if you do not mind." Ebijac said.

Hy'Debar snorts.

"I do not think so."

Ebijac let out a sigh.

"My dear Hy'Debar, do you not remember our agreement? My condition was freedom once we reached Pitalcian."

"Sorry, I am not at liberty to do that. You will be taken to the Council of Walder, God of law. You are after all the only witnesse to what happened to that poor village."

"But..."

Hy'Debar's laughter cut Ebijac off.

"You say you worship the Titans, boy? Than you should know Amalgo is Titan of games AND trickery. Why else do you think my comrades think I am one of Iranik's?"

Ebijac pursed his lips. He did not like being called a 'boy.' He is, after all, hundreds of thousands of years older than Hy'Debar. He also did not like mentioning Amalgo, the betrayer of Titans.

"..."

Ebijac said nothing and turned to face the road once more. Anger filled him, like a fire in the hearth.

They rode in silence. Pedestrian dressed in garish garments passed them by on their daily tasks. People often stopped to wave and stare at the party of knights. Admiring their achievements. Some even held a gleam of jealously... towards Ebijac? Who envies a prisoner? This baffled Ebijac. Even after his many years of studying humans, he cannot comprehend the logic behind some of their motives.

The palace began to loom over them. Even Ebijac had to stare at it in awe. A towering building created in the days of Titans that seemed not a day old. It is rare that Celstial admire something made by man, but this is one of the few.

Stable boys came and took their horses once the party had dismounted in the courtyard. The party began to lead Ebijac across the courtyard. Not towards the main building, but to the courthouse, built in the former temple of Ticstra Titan of justice.

Ebijac looked around himself, sweating profoundly. Escape seemed impossible. Four men with far higher stats than his own surrounded him. As well as many more lazing around. Although perhaps...

NO. It is a very foolish idea. Besides, it needed something he did not have. Courage. His mortal body is already sensitive. Pushing it to its limits would be too much. Then again, death is in his favour.

Ebijac will have to try.

Even with his low stats, and lack of ability there is one thing that mortals for the most part overlook. The focusing of one's spirit to boost your other stats for a short period of time. If Ebijac can focus his spirit into a powerful strike he may be given a window of opportunity to escape.

Out of all his guards, Hy'Debar would be the easiest to attack. If he could just remember the sweet spot... There. Ebijac spotted the part of Hy'Debar's leg that if Ebijac were to strike it would leave Hy'Debar paralyzed for a few seconds. Which is all he needs.

'Iken, Titan of luck please be in my favour.'

Ebiac took a deep breath, focusing his spirit into his right hand.

With a quick motion he jabbed towards Hy'Debar. Hy'Debar crumpled to his knees screaming, "My legs! I cannot feel my leg!"

This caused everyone's eyes to fall on Ebijac who had begun running. They shouted out at him.

Ebijac held his now broken hand in agony. He bit his lip to the point of bleeding, but otherwise did his best to ignore the pain.

Mistakenly, Ebijac looked over his shoulder to see the armed men chasing him. Then he hit something hard and feel backwards. He should of kept his eyes forward.
