Chereads / The Mortal God / Chapter 2 - Pile of Ashes

Chapter 2 - Pile of Ashes

As an awakening sensation ran through his body Ebijac rose to his feet covered in ash. With a boggled mind he looked around. He is in a village, or more specifically the remnant of one. The buildings had been burnt with few structures still standing and bodies lay scattered everywhere with the flesh burnt beyond recognition.

Ebijac tried to think. He rubbed his temples. In a flash of lightning it came back to him. His siblings.

Ebijac was a God, however he disliked the CPS. Despite that, peer pressure forced him to play. He had managed to sponsor a dozen humans who lived and older lifestyle away from the rest of civilization. It was peaceful, until Jeju's subjects raided it killing all the men and boys, will taking the women and girls. That had been all Ebijac could handle.

Hence forth Ebijac has openly sided with the Titans to end the CPS.

Unlike the Titans, the Gods and Goddesses had power over Ebijac, a mere God. They were able to punish Ebijac and sent him down to the mortal world to live as a mortal. And when he dies he shall be reincarnated. He will live many lives as a mortal, and his siblings will get a laugh out of it.

But that still does not explain the village. Ebijac cannot fathom what had occurred. Although it was recently.

"Hello!"

There came a silence. Ebijac looked around but there is no sign of anyone.

Ebijac slowly made his way to the closest building which is mostly a pile of rubble with a collapsed roof. As he entered the door fell off of its hinge and crashed into the ground. This caused Ebijac to flinch. He had never experienced fear before. It felt as though his heart wanted to leap out of his chest, that his throat had closed itself and he found himself breathing heavily. The sensation left after awhile.

Something caught Ebijac's eyes. At the edge of the rubble there lay a shattered mirror. Ebijac approached it. He carefully reached down and picked up one of the fragments. He had to remind himself how fragile the human body is. The fragment could easily pierce his flesh.

He is about twelve from what he can tell, with a handsome face, however it is pale in comparison to his former divinity. His body type is slim but athletic with an average height for males twelve years of age. As for his garments he is wearing worn peasant clothes.

Once satisfied with his reflection, Ebijac tossed the fragment aside. He took another glance around before stepping outside.

As he did so a peice of parchment hit him in the face, propelled by the wind. He reached for the parchment. Something is written on it. It reads:

-

Dear Ebijac,

To begin your punishment you are a thirteen year old boy from a namless town on the East River near the Bardral mountains. As for your stats you are well balanced with an even 275 for physical, mental and spiritual. As well your name is Ty'Maign. We cannot wait to see how you portray this character, and which one of us will sponsor you.

Sincerely, Yitwa and company.

Ebijac cursed. He crumpled the parchment and tossed it away. The wind carried the parchment away, never to be seen again.
