Chapter 2 - The Days of true Misery

I hadn't planned anything about where I was going or how I would sustain myself. All that was in my mind was to get as far as possible from that orphanage. I started running though I didn't know where I was going.

I stopped running after 20 mins after the escape. I didn't have the energy to move even one step forward, so I sat on the corner of the road to take a breath. I didn't realize when I had fallen asleep on the road. I started begging the next day. At the end of the day I had gotten 2 copper coins. I kept it in my pocket as it was too little to buy anything.

The next day I again started begging and seemed that luck was on my side as I got 6 copper coins. I had 8 coins in total. That too was little to buy something to sustain myself so I again kept it in my pocket hoping for a bigger luck the next day.

I got 4 copper coins the next day and now this was enough for buying something. I bought a can of juice and a packet of potato biscuits. I ate it and felt content.

The next month the days of my true misery began. It was winter. Hardly anyone could be seen in the misty street. Even if there were some people they barely gave me some money. People in the street used to call me the miserable bonny lad.

I started starving. My hunger crossed its boundaries. One shop on the other side of the street was open. I went there, the shopkeeper was called Jim. He asked me what I needed. I asked him for a bottle of glucose water and some biscuits. He asked me for 14 coins. I begged him to give me it for free but he shooed me away with a stick.

I ran away from that hellhole of a place and regretted escaping Gorshal.

I ran until I found a shed to rest in. God heard my will as I found an abandoned cowshed with some hay. I thought of passing my following days there. I prepared a bed for me using some hay. I had a nice dream that night.

The other day I got the perfect idea about what I should do to earn. Well, let's not say earn but get money. I should steal.

Because that is the thing I know how to do. Also I kind of liked this risk. So I started planning a heist.
