I knocked on Mr. Hal's door. He opened the door quite late.
Mr.Hal was extremely fat. He was bald and was wearing a nightgown. Maybe he wasn't asleep since the robbery.
"May I come in?"
"Yeah"
I went inside. I started looking around in hope of finding something shiny that looked like Mr.Wilbert's ring.
"You seem tired. Haven't you slept last night?"
"I was out of the city so I arrived late at night."
"Since when were you out of the city?"
"Since last week."
"Oh I see. OH YES! I need to go, sorry for disturbing you. Bye!"
I left the room. I was dejected. How could both Ms Linda and Mr. Hal not be the thief? I was walking around Jim's shop when I noticed the 2 cans of juice in my pocket. There was a dustbin right outside Jim's shop. As I threw the cans in it.. I noticed something familiar. IT WAS THE OTHER PAIR OF SHOES!! JIM WAS THE THIEF!!
I ran towards Mr. Wilbert's house. I told him everything. He thanked me and we went to Jim's shop along with the police. We found the ring hiding in one of the corners of the shop. The police caught Jim and left. Mr Wilbert thanked me a lot of times. The ring was very special to him. I don't know why.
Mr.Wilbert told me that I could ask him for money whenever I needed. I thanked him and returned to my cowshed. I wondered 'How smart of me to find the thief in just 4 days.'
