I could just go around houses to catch the thief now. When I remember this thought of mine I feel how stupid I was.
I went around the houses, shops, but couldn't find the other pair of the shoe.
Mr. Wilbert had called the police so they took the shoe for investigations. Now the only clue that was left with me was the picture of the shoe in my mind.
On the third day of the robbery I went to Mr. Wilbert's. I asked him if he would be kind enough to lend me some coins as I hadn't had anything in days. He gave me thirty coins and I thanked him with every thankful word I knew.
I went to Jim's shop and asked him to give me 2 cans of juice and a piece of loaf. He asked me if I had money to pay for the items.
"Yes sir, I have the money." I said.
He gave me my requirements, I gave him twenty coins and saved the rest for the future.
I ate the loaf and drank the juice. I felt content.
"Hey, kiddo no eating in my shop." the shopkeeper said.
"Just as I was about to leave the shop I noticed something familiar. Where had I seen it(I asked myself)."
I got it! It was the mark left by the shoe! This means the thief was once a customer of Jim!
I asked, "Do you remember your customers who came here last Saturday?"
"Yes, Ms Linda came here to buy a rope and Mr. Hal to buy a pair of scissors "said Jim.
The thief must be Ms. Linda or Mr. Hal. Woah! I figured it out so fast. How smart am I?
"Around what time did Ms Linda come to buy a rope?" I asked
"Don't know the time but is at the morning"
"Where does Ms Linda live?"I asked.
"Why do you need to know that?" Jim asked.
"Please sir, it is important."I said.
"She lives in that housing, 4th floor, apartment number7."He said.
I rushed towards Ms Linda's apartment and knocked on the door.
