After Ms Linda opened the door I realized that I hadn't planned what to say. It took me 3 minutes to decide to say something.
"May I come in?"I asked her as politely as I could.
"Yes, sure."She said.
I went in and sat on the sofa and thought about what next? What should I ask her?"Where were you three days ago?"I asked her.
"I was here."
"At midnight? Well, not almost midnight but at around 10 or 11pm?"
After I asked that question I realized how stupid I was. Asking the thief where s/he was at the time of robbery is a dumb question (though she might not be the thief).
She giggled a little bit and said, "I was sleeping."
I noticed a shoe rack in the room. To have a close look at it and to distract Ms Linda I acted to cough harshly and asked her if she would be kind enough to make me a glass of coffee.
"Sure why not?"She said.
Ms Linda was a fair around 25 years old lady. She wore a green frock that reached upto her ankles. The way she spoke, walked and smiled made me feel that she wasn't the thief. But always the unexpected thing happens at the end.
Right after she went to the kitchen I started examining the shoe rack and the whole room but I couldn't find anything. Ms Linda brought me a cup of coffee. I thanked her and drank it. I could feel the warmth of that coffee flowing through my body.
I thanked Ms Linda and rushed towards Jim's shop. HAL IS THE THIEF.
"Sir, where does Mr. Hal live?"
"What are you upto today kid?"
"I beg you to please tell me. It is very important."
"He lives in the same apartment as Ms Linda, 5th floor 18th apartment."
I rushed towards Mr Hal's apartment. I was so proud of myself as I found out the thief before the police did.
