The barn where the mission was to take place was roughly 30 km from the warehouse. If she were to ride her motorbike at a decent speed all the while considering her superficial injuries, it would take about 30 minutes to get there.
She could rest for an hour and a half before she decides to do anything and that's exactly what she did.
She propped herself up on the seat of her motorcycle and laid down. Though it was a bit uncomfortable considering that it wasn't a proper place to rest; it was better than sitting on the cold hard ground till her butt went numb.
Letting one leg sway on the side and the other bent over the seat, she laid there with her eyes silently gazing at the night sky.
The warehouse was quite far from the bright city; hence, there were quite many stars visible in the sky. The moon also shone brightly, lighting up the night.
Sachi who was throwing a tantrum for Sophia's reckless actions was now quietly laying on top of Sophia's chest. Cuddled up in a ball even though she couldn't tough him nor feel his weight.
If one were to look at her side profile they would see a mesmerizing girl laying leisurely on a motorbike as if it were her royal lounge chair. Her half-closed eyes staring deeply into the night sky as if watching a masterpiece.
Sophia on the other hand was staring into nothingness. There were no thoughts in her mind nor was she focusing on anything.
She was watching the stars but her focus was not there. Sachi on the other hand was peacefully laying on top of her and letting the comfortable silence pass between them.
Seconds passed by. Minutes rolled on and hours came to pass as well.
Yet no one spoke. If it were not for the occasional movement of their calm breathing and the slight batting of their eyes, one might even think they were dead!
Out of habit, Sophia reached out to pet Sachi but she felt nothing.
Lowering her gaze to her chest where Sachi was supposed to be she felt her eyes twitch. Sachi was still on top of her but she couldn't touch him.
Sophia: "..." [What the f*ck? This shit again?]
"You should get used to it already Sophia." Of course, Sophia knew that she couldn't touch him. She just can't adjust to this though. Even though she was breezing through the days without much thought about anything she really missed Sachi's presence.
The warmth he gave off was very comforting to her and she really wanted it back. Knowing that Sachi was there but he also isn't there at the same time made her feel lost.
It was like Sophia and Sachi were going through the same predicament. While she was Sophia living as Luna Grey despite not fully possessing the body, Sachi was also living even though he couldn't be seen or touched.
Ever since the transfer of her soul, both had been living like ghosts.
They had nobody to call their own and yet they still lived on somewhere and somehow.
Not being able to bear this empty feeling any longer, Sophia's cold voice rang out. "Is there a way to get more missions from the system?"
Sachi, who understood the meaning behind her words raised his head in excitement. How could he not know that she was asking for a way to be together with him faster? She missed touching him!
{A/N: "ew. My baby is pure so don't talk think dirty you rascal!"
Sachi: "..." [What the f*ck? When was I thinking dirty about her?! She's the one who wants to touch me, not the other way around!]
A/N: "She wants to pet you so get your head out of the gutter!"
Sachi: "..." [oh really? You sure it was your head that was in the gutter?]
A/N: "Don't look at me like that. Look at your readers and tell them that. I am but an innocent soul." }
Hearing no reply from Sachi, Sophia raised her brows. Her gaze made Sachi embarrassed and he turned his head to the side. "Ahem. Regular missions cannot be tampered with but you can force out random missions. Random missions deal with helping people in need, so as long as you in an area with people in need, nine out of ten times you'll be assigned with a random mission."
Sophia's eyes glistened with joy because she could get Sachi to her faster. F*ck she was excited.
Sachi went on to explain how mission panels have a map that can show areas with people in need. If she searches within the area she can force out random missions no matter where she was.
Thinking of missions, Sophia was reminded of her third mission. Pulling up the mission panel she watched the live footage of the area. All was quiet and silent on the other side. There were no movements of light.
She watched the footage for a few more minutes when she saw two black vans pulling up near the barn. As they drove closer, she focused on finding clues of what might be happening.
Coincidently her eyes fell on the tiny logo on the hood. It was but a brand logo of the car itself but when Sophia's eyes fell on the logo, she couldn't help but frown.
'Grey family?'
The night prior she had researched upon the happenings of the world in the past four years. More importantly, she focused on the Grey family and any information she could find on them because they were her main target at the moment.
Be it for her to properly own the body or to avenge Luna who had suffered, the Grey family had to go. No matter the reason, Sophia herself felt the need to do something about this family.
Perhaps because she was in Luna's body and the emotions of the original Luna affected her thinking or because 'Luna' couldn't bear to see what the Grey family did to Rohan and Lillian; Sophia wanted to do something for them.
That something revolved around the Grey family.
More precisely, the only thing she could do for them was destroying the Grey family. She could avoid all this nonsense and just help them get rich and live a good life but the Grey was digging their own graves.
They had heartlessly abandoned Luna seven years ago in an unknown city. Not even bothering to register to the orphanage, they left her sleeping on the cold floor in the middle of the night! That was alright and all but they even went as far as to torture her after an accidental meeting?!
Are they out of their minds?! Luna minded her own business for the past seven years and never bothered them so what right did they have to bother her?
Going as far as to harm her foster mother and brother, were they even humans?
What did she ever do to them? What exactly did Luna do wrong, that her biological father was willing to collide with an outsider and harm his own blood daughter?!
She had given up on him at the tender age of ten but he dared to harm her brother? To give him nightmares and even get them in a car accident? Oh, they were definitely digging their graves.
The van that had pulled up on the barn was a van registered under Grey Corps Security. What made her come to this conclusion was not the several men who rushed out of the car dressed in black suits but rather the brand logo on the hood of the vans.
It looked just like a regular Camo Car brand logo but when one looked closely one would see the little L that was formed on the side.
Luna's father, Levi Grey, loved marking his things and that included these cars. To avoid trouble he did it discreetly but the L on the logo was still there on the logo. It was an irrefutable fact the Grey family was involved in this and this thought caused Sophia's blood to boil.
Quickly sitting up on the motorbike, Sophia's eyes bored deeply into the screen. Her face was emotionless but the cold aura emitting from her was clear as day.
