The girls were all clustered in the barn. Some were alone while others were weeping together in groups of two to three. Many were on the ground clutching their tummies in hand, sweat covering their faces.
Tear marks new and old marked each one of their faces. Some for pain while others shed for the hopeless situation that they were in.
Sophia was no better at the moment. Had it not been for her great emotional control aka her emotionless face, her face would have long been crunched up in guilt and sympathy for those girls.
Perhaps from the similar situation they were in or because she was holding back her rage, Sophia's eyes were bloody red. The dark and ominous air around her increased and under the cover of the dark night her red eyes only served to add the final touch to the image of an emerging devil.
Biting her lips to keep herself in control, Sophia carefully watched the situation inside.
The mission was to start in ten minutes, but her goal now was to find a way to save those girls before the time came.
Having Sachi explain to her about the system, Sophia knew that the best time to strike on a mission was always marked by the system. Be it the route to get to the place depending on the circumstances or the time to take action, everything was well planned out.
When she was saving Rohan, the fastest route to him was marked by the system. Even coming to this barn, the route was marked but she had time so even though she changed her route many times to fool her tailers and get to the warehouse, the route marked by the system was still there. Each time the fastest path was marked out.
The same thing went for the time. Many missions like saving Rohan and the old man were not dependant on the time but they were still there. Though she had no time to use them because it was a matter of life or death each time, she saw those timers.
Having looked back at those events she knew that the time provided by the system matched up the time she started taking action.
It was the same now. Which meant that she had ten minutes to think and gauze the situation better. If she didn't think through she might've rushed inside the second she saw the bodyguards re-entering the room with medical boxes in their hands.
The ones that they used to hold the drug for the girls.
Having her thoughts mixed with Luna's was very troubling for Sophia because half of her was rational while the other half was already weak on the knees and ready to do whatever it takes to save those girls. She was fighting herself to stay rational and in control so that she can properly save those girls instead of making things worse with her reckless actions.
Gritting her teeth tighter, Sophia took deep breaths to calm herself down. She couldn't rush into the barn at the moment. If she did, many things would go wrong.
Though it sounded pathetic, those girls needed those drug injections right now. Despite the pain that came with it, those injections were the ones that are going to keep them alive.
Like an addict, those girls needed their daily dose. If they don't get it, it would be even more dangerous for them.
Even if Sophia rushed into the room there was nothing she could do. She was weak.
She wasn't in her body nor was Luna in her best condition. If she were to barge in, those 10 well-trained bodyguards would have a good chance at killing her than she would have at taking them down. No matter how skillful she was with the human body and her moves, she still needed strength and agility to carry out those moves.
She was running low with those at the moment.
Sophia had her nails digging into her palms as she watched the bodyguards go around the room injecting the girls. They were very impatient and rough in their actions. The way they seemed to stab the syringe into the stomach of those girls so fast and without care made Sophia want to just let everything go and barge in.
Despite her thoughts, she controlled her urge and kept on watching. Within two minutes all the girls were injected and left alone while the ten bodyguards left to a corner of the barn.
It was separated from the rest of the barn as if to create a little room but it was only made of wood. The entrance was only mere pieces of dark-colored fabrics. It served to create a partition from the rest of the barn but that was it. One could still hear the voices from the barn in the room and vice-versa.
Four of the bodyguards rummaged through the room before coming back out in the black suits to guard the girls.
[Time till missions start: 00:04:58 ]
Moving the 'system camera' around she looked for something she could use. Weapons she could use on those guards but as she scanned the entire barn she found nothing. Besides the little 'room' where the bodyguards were staying, the rest of the barn was empty without the girls and the hay that was spread messily across the ground.
For safety and security purposes, the bodyguard's room was lined with items. Many things like bondage ropes, whips, straps, and all sorts of harnesses. The girls were given a fertility drug that made them increase their eggs within a cycle but this also meant that anything harsh on them would risk the number of egg delivery.
Even though the bodyguards' actions were harsh, it was nothing life-threatening. However, if they beat up the girls to bring order then the number of eggs they would get after the delivery would lessen and that would be a loss for them, hence the toys.
If the bodyguards were to tie up the girls using the ropes and whip them then nothing much would happen because despite the pain and tension put on the body it wouldn't affect the overall health of the girls.
When Sophia's eyes landed on those toys she couldn't help but increase the malicious aura around her. It was a subconscious response coming from Sophia. Having been in a similar situation made it even more personal.
Once Sophia finished scanning the inside of the barn she moved onto the premises. There she found a big patch of herbs growing at the back. The moonlight reflected off of the leaves and allowed her to see the tiny plants but Sophia didn't know what they were so she looked at Sachi.
"Those are Ianina, Dire Daisy, and Slolla plants. The guards use them for the girls when they fall very ill. When they mix Ianina and Dire Daisy into a dry concoction they get a powder that helps heal the inner wounds and helps with their fertility. Ianina and Slolla mixed in a dry concoction makes one feel faint and weak. They also use them on the newer girls but that rarely happens." [How can those girls have the strength to fight back when they were beaten up and worn down before they get sent here?]
Sachi didn't speak out the last sentence but Sophia didn't need them to know what he was going to say.
Sophia wrecked her brain to think of something when she felt a faint memory surfacing in her mind.
'Ianina... liquid concoction... body...'
Not being able to make sense of the pieces of information she seemed to find Sophia let out her doubts in her mind for Sachi to hear.
"What happens when you make a liquid concoction with Ianina and Slolla?"
Sachi's eyes opened wide in surprise as his head moved right in front of her. "You remember?!"
Sophia was confused as to what Sachi was getting at but now was not the time to think about it so Sophia gave Sachi a menacing glare.
Being the target of her devil-like eyes, Sachi moved back and let out two fake meows to clear his throat.
"If you make a liquid concoction of the Ianina and Slolla then you can knock them out directly. Depending on your level of medicine making, you can directly knock them out with the gas but if your concoction is weak then it will at the very least weaken the bodies of the bodyguards to those of average men."
Sophia listened carefully and once she was clear about it she decided to make a liquid concoction. That was the best solution hence she made her way to the back of the barn.
Sachi had shown her the pictures of the plants and she picked up Ianine and Slolla but she was confused about how to make the liquid concoction. Moreover, where the f*ck was she supposed to make the concoction?!
Sachi felt her pain hence he offered some help like the good little familiar he was. "Master, you can use 10 points to create a highly potent liquid potion using the plants."
Sophia was relieved. She didn't care about the number of points she had for her goal was completing missions to get Sachi, but knowing that she could use those points to save those girls her eyes lit up brightly. She quickly nodded her head.
After confirming her request, a blue light seeped out from just below her collarbone and wrapped up the plants that she held in her hands. They started flowing in the air as the blue light guided them and played around. A blue fire started midair and a blue medicine pot also popped up before another blue light of a different shade wrapped up everything, leaving nothing but a blue ball-like circle midair. Ten seconds later the ball magically melted away and a transparent blue vile.
Three-fourths of the vile was filled with a gray liquid. The top was sealed off with a cap-like silicone that blocked out the gas from leaking out. Holding the vile in her hands, Sophia was very much excited.
First, she gets to save those girls. Second, she wouldn't have to deal with those bodyguards because they would be rendered useless with her potion. Third, she gets to see a potion in action!
Sophia made her way back to the front of the barn and sneaked her away through a side gap that the bodyguards didn't know of because it was blocked out by the many wooden planks that stood in front.
Just as she was about to move to a safer place, Sophia felt a gaze on her. Taking a step to the side, Sophia turned her head towards the direction of the gaze. her eyes landed on a girl that was staring at her through her tearful gaze. Her body and the white hospital uniform that she wore were covered in blood. Despite her crunched-up posture, her eyes looked at her as if looking at an angel.
'Please save me.'
