Chereads / Demonic Host Against The Bloodline / Chapter 20 - Selecting 'Food'

Chapter 20 - Selecting 'Food'

Zaiden was discharged after the speculations, whereas the demon showed him a demo. As the vampire nurse visited him again, Zaiden touched her wrist with an excuse. The demon sensed the blood group since he was trapped in his body.

They both shared the touch related to vampires, Zaiden got the benefit from his presence. He was given the key to the room in the opposite building to the library. Zaiden stood in front of the door with an emblem in his hand.

The technology in human world differed from vampire realm. It was evident from his face that he didn't understand how to operate it.

'It shouldn't be tough to operate it, right?'

His self esteem was challenged, since Zaiden was efficient with tech stuff. His stream of interest had always been computers and gadgets. Now that the demon was awakened within him, who could sense and see his actions....Zaiden felt his skills were threatened.

{You can always ask me you know?}

The demon's constant intrusion was provoking Zaiden, he gave up to the obvious situation. Meanwhile Curtis looked inside the hospital ward and didn't find Zaiden.

{Put a drop of blood over that green gem and bind with it. The authority will begiven to you.}

Zaiden followed his words and unlocked the room. It had all the basic necessities and was a spacious dormitory. Curtis on the other hand had no clue where to find Zaiden.

He recalled the authority over the system and summoned it. The preface opened in front of him, since he was invisible so as the screen.

[The host's whereabouts are detected nearby. Dormitory is XXX km away from ghost partner's position.]

It was still unknown how the system figured out Zaiden' exact location. Curtis floated towards the dormitory to tell him the clues about his mother. But upon seeing Zaiden sleeping he kept his mouth shut. Curtis had no details to aid his statement, despite the portrait of Hestia was itself a proof.

The butler decided not to say anything until he find out some more clues about her. Zaiden's classes began from very next day, in the building a block away from his dormitory.

All the vampire students used their transformation ability to reach. Whereas Zaiden who was aware of his origin generated the excuse of exercise. He couldn't transform his lower abdomen into smoke like others, or turn into bats or crows to fly.

The first lesson included the history of vampire realm, the four kingdoms and their blood cores. Zaiden already read that information in the library, he wanted to question about the seal of Xandaya's blood core.

But since his self developed identity belonged to the nation, thus he maintained silence on the matter. The professors were probably unaware of the solution, even if they knew no one would propose it. Because doing so was an invitation to the Xandaya to the heights of the vampire realm.

Zaiden noticed that the students in his class were of his age apparently. And none of them seemed harmful, which annoyed him causing the mild guilt trip. Zaiden was told that vampires were the cause of his mother's disappearance, and his father's illness....thus he was apathetic towards them.

The next lecture covered up the subject of 'finding the abilities.' The professor was a female vampire named Miss Samantha, who instructed everyone to get their blood group tested. She was supposed to conduct consecutive classes, thus every student was forced to get tested right away.

'This is bad. The demon warned to avoid the testing. I have to find a way out of this mess.'

Zaiden followed everyone else as they all walked out of the classroom. Each student sounded excited and eager to know which element they possessed. Since the batch was supposed to be divided further accordingly the elements.

'I can't get tested or else I might get into some peril.'

Zaiden himself didn't know why the demon told him to avoid the testing. Now he had no choice but to seek help from him. He walked through the arcade trailing behind the groups of students.

He called out to the demon, who yawned and responded.

{The solution is at your hand, boy. Just switch your blood group for a while.}

Zaiden became stunned at his proposal. He obviously had no clue about vampires switching the blood by drinking. It was basically an oral transfusion.

"How to do that?"

He delayed his walk and dawdled towards the exit of the building. Nobody was aware of his absence because it was the first day. The demon laughed hysterically and told him the procedure.

{All you have to do is hunt someone and drink his blood. Haha, I'm sure you can do it easily.}

"Are you certain that it causes a switch of blood groups? As far as I'm concerned it can cause my death."

Zaiden was still delusional about himself being a human being. And his words clearly stated his naivety upon not realizing the situation.

{Trust me, it will work. And no, you won't die.}

He heaved a sigh and started to walk towards the garden behind the block. Zaiden looked around for his prey, he didn't want to randomly pick someone. His search aimed for a girl with a pretty face and a reasonable outlook.
