Zaiden waited for her to attack, but Elle's sudden patience aroused curiosity.
'Is she waiting for me to lower my guard?'
He carefully studied her facial expressions and knew Ellen was provoking him. Zaiden could feel a spark within his body, feeling a tingling sensation he finally summoned the element.
"What? It seems you aren't going to get any answers then."
Zaiden played Ellen's card at her, she got infuriated at his audacity to talk back. The dust around her feet started to move, visible to naked eye Zaiden saw the air moving towards her hands.
She had a strong command over her element, and the wind travelled upwards by swirling around her legs. Zaiden understood that the only fire, life and chaotic elements were related to one's inner strength. Whereas the rest were dependent on the presence of the element in the surroundings.
'So, rage doesn't induce fire element but it drives your power level and directs the user to the core.'
Zaiden figured out that he had to focus on his emotions and stir the passion. The air wrapped around her arms up to Ellen's elbow, while Zaiden awaited to see through her trick. She extended her arm and directed the flow of wind towards Zaiden.
The dust accumulated in the air condensed and formed numerous small marble sized balls. Zaiden smiled briefly and bent his front knee a little, pulling his right hand he curled it into a fist.
'Hah! Same old trick of Aaron. I just need to block those bullets.'
The surge of energy flowed from his fingers up to his elbows. Zaiden's clothes began to burn but his skin didn't feel uncomfortable. As soon as Ellen charged those balls at him Zaiden experienced excitement flowing within him.
The visible fire on his arm travelled opposite direction, aiding with his other hand Zaiden blocked the dust bullets. A mini explosion was caused disclosing Ellen that whatever pills he had been using were powerful.
"This is amazing, haha!"
Zaiden's excitement increased. He had been playing with technology all his previous years, being able to possess supernatural powers was unbelievable. Ellen was aware that their elements would clash, and Zaiden's fire was unstable.
They were near the academy premises and could be suspended again for using unstable magic. Ellen was skilled in combat skills and assuming that people from Xandaya were mostly farmers. She switched her preference from magic to hand-to-hand duel.
"If I won, you will spill the beans of the source."
She commanded and placed the bet confidently. While Zaiden became impatient to try his element with her. He agreed to her proposal aiming to cheat and win either by hook or by crook.
Ellen prepared herself and within just one blink of an eye she was right behind Zaiden. The boy bent down immediately and dodged her within a close range. She was taken aback by his speed, which was a granted trait by the serum. Zaiden hoped back and grinned, when Ellen took the burning sensation into account.
"You son of a bit*h!'
Her shoulder burnt and the cloth was torn, Ellen dealt with the fire fueling her anger. Zaiden prepared himself to experiment even more with his new powers.
"You could have simply ask me rather than proposing this duel."
The demon got intrigued with Zaiden, and spoke to him out of curiosity. Ellen on the other hand closed her eyes and began to focus. Her unusual selected time for meditation aroused his curiosity.
{She is directing her focus on the surroundings by summoning every particle the wind is composed of, at her will. And I'm not sure if you will survive her attack unscathed.}
'Any tips from the mighty demon? What should I be doing with my fire element?'
Zaiden was already fighting upon his instructions, and hadn't overdid his potential. Whereas Ellen's element and blood group had already unlocked a potential range.
{You can use your current beginner level up to fuller. Unlock the perks and combine it with your element.}
However Zaiden could not figure out what he meant. His only demonstration was whatever Ellen was attempting. Zaiden saw the air getting accumulated around her hands.
'Is she creating a tornado just like Marco did that day?'
Suspecting that Ellen might be pulling the same trick, Zaiden feared that he might not be able to break from that. In between both of them wind swirled and began to take a from. Zaiden wanted to run from the site, but his reputation was on the stake.
{Chant 'gnimalf nogard' and direct the flames towards your palms.}
Ellen didn't want to risk the chances of her victory, thus she chanted her strongest spell. Zaiden didn't want to fall on his face (not literally) because he was unaware of the spells. Thus the demon decided to help him with the powerful spell of fire element.
Zaiden followed his instructions upon seeing the wind-ox, the demon had probably foreseen the spell. The flames travelled from his arm towards palms, from where they took the shape of a dragon.
"Hah! So you do know a few spells, huh. Not as useless as I thought."
Ellen mocked his background, while the dragon soared high and grew bigger. Feeding on Zaiden's emotions the flames covered most of the sight.
"But you definitely are a cheater. Hand-to-hand duel, huh!"
Engaging in the verbal quarrel, they both fed their elemental creatures. It appeared to be a children's fight rather than a duel. Whereas back in the academy a professor spotted the flaming dragon and immediately headed towards the faculty.
