"There has to be some loophole or something which we could use to pace up this game."
Zaiden wanted his bodyguard to question the system because he was now in command. Although numerous questions had popped up in his head regarding the newly so called birth, which seemed a reversal of time.
[There are only two rules of the game. One is to complete the task within the given time span and survive together and the other is to drink a noble vampire's blood to expand your lifespan. Refrain from human blood; strength level will fluctuate.]
"Master, what should we do now? It seems the situation really isn't in our favor and we have no other way to escape."
Curtis flew up in the air and approached Zaiden.
The boy stood up and shouted in rage, not being able to accept that he was helpless in this new situation. Being a mere pawn without any authority over anything was something he could never accept.
"No, I don't want to play! Send us back."
He strode towards the door but his footsteps immediately halted when he heard a laser beam piercing the chair on his right.
[There is no option to quit, you either play and survive or die to be erased from everywhere forever.]
The young boy fell back on his butt and simply stared at the door, when Curtis summoned the system to answer another question.
"Okay, we will play and abide by the rules but do we have any powers or not? Because the weapons which we had are not with us now."
[The Ghost partner Curtis has the ability to possess the commoners in this world. The Demon host has yet to awaken his supernatural powers.]
The power appeared on the screen along with their names.
Curtis thought for a moment while reading the screen whereas Zaiden realized that their situation was not that bad.
'At least we have some powers if not our weapons. And I have that vampire's blood in my veins, it should be a bonus point for me.'
Zaiden lifted his hands and stared at them, while he mustered up the courage to play the game.
[The task will commence in two minutes when you will pass through that door. You have been given an identity of a common vampire as a facade. Good luck.]
The screen vanished and the hall became quiet when Zaiden figured out the worst.
"Wait, it didn't tell us the time duration. And possibly what kind of lousy facade is this, the Lancaster family also lives in this realm who bully commoners, duh!?"
Curtis widened his eyes and they both headed towards the door knowing that there was no use of crying over spilled milk.
The door opened and after a sharp light accompanied his eyes. Zaiden found himself in the middle of a bustling market.
"What the hell! Is this some kind of joke? Are vampires living in 1900?"
Zaiden immediately recognized that the setting of the first world seemed medieval, considerably the hand driven carts, fury, lacy attires and the faraway castle which could be seen from there.
"Watch out kid!"
A vendor shouted from the left to warn him, he was headed to Zaiden's direction while chasing a running cart. The boy was still processing the situation of the vampire world, which disappointed him contemplating their understanding of technology.
Vampires had been residing in the human realm and they were familiar wit the stuff. In that moment the kingdom's first impression left a distasteful feeling on his tongue. He expected some serious shit of technology, soldiers, powers and everything which the kid-him could imagine.
"Step aside, master!"
Blob Curtis who was only visible to him, shouted and lunged towards Zaiden. But as he was a Ghost blob he passed through Zaiden's body without possessing him.
The cart barely collided with him and the vendor reached for Zaiden's arm to prevent him from falling. The young boy felt a weird sensation within his body and his eyes shone red, when Zaiden's arm touched the man's bare hand and they both fell.
"Hey kid, watch where you are going."
The vendor stood up and dusted off his clothes, when he cast a look at Zaiden while scolding him. His gaze froze upon seeing his crimson orbs with golden flecks, the sight was unusual for any person present in the realm.
"Y- you."
He stepped back with his wriggling legs when Curtis appeared in front of Zaiden, with a futile attempt to cover him.
