LOCATION: ROSAK FOREST, NORTHWESTERN PART OF SILVERIA EMPIRE
"Hey! Are you sure that we are in the right place? This place doesn't feel right to me."
"Heh. Are you being a coward or something? Relax! You have seasoned adventurers within your back to help you! And since this is your first ever team commission, as the leader of the group, I'll do my best to help you, pal!"
"Don't be so nervous, SID! Since you just got promoted to C-rank, it would be better if you have an experience to take these kinds of commissions!"
The nervous-wreaking young man named Sid could only smile and couldn't refute these veteran adventurers who suddenly just dragged him into their party when he just promoted to C-rank adventurer.
Sid wouldn't need to elaborate on how he ended up with these narcissistic people and since he just got lucky to be promoted to middle-class rank then, he would just treat this as another test that he took way back when he was still a newbie in this field.
More than a year ago, he arrived at Silveria Empire to settle down and started a new life as an adventurer.
He came from another empire, but something happens that makes him move out from there and settle down on this place.
Since he is new and doesn't know anyone around, he went to the Adventurer Guild in the Capital city and registered as an adventurer himself. Since he is relatively new and doesn't have any previous records about him as an adventurer before, he started from the bottom rank.
For the past months since he settled down in this empire, Sid had a great time and also met other adventurers whenever he's on the guild and most of them giving him some advises since he is relatively new in this field.
Now that he got promoted into a C-rank adventurer, which could only mean that now he is allowed to participate into subjugation missions such as forming a party among his fellow adventurers.
From what he learned about being an adventurer as he became one of them, in the Adventurer Guild, there is a rule that adventurers couldn't take missions if the said mission wasn't aligned to their rank. That's the general rule.
If an adventurer wants to go any further, they must join or create a party for taking such dangerous mission.
The reason for these rules are implemented is because several adventurers, especially newcomers, would get injured or suddenly die in the process of taking such dangerous missions.
Even if they were on a higher rank, they still need to abide by the rules of establishing a party for the safety of others.
Before going to take such a dangerous mission, those who are present would need to sign an agreement stating that they would be held responsible for their own actions despite the warning given to them, especially for those lower-rank adventurers who were eager to earn more money in desperation.
Official members of the guild have their ADVENTURER CARDS and that serves as their identification as members of the adventurer guild.
For the safety of every official member of the adventurer guild, to become an official member, participants needs to partake an evaluation exam to determine their strengths and weaknesses and also, if they were totally fit to become an official member.
Adventurer Cards are divided into distinct colors to identify their rankings, and it couldn't be forged or fake because of the special seals that were attached to the identification cards.
The ranks and their respective colors as follows, from lowest to the highest;
E-rank (GREEN), D-rank (PURPLE), C-rank (COPPER), B-rank (WHITE), A-rank (GRAY), S-rank (SILVER), SS-rank (GOLD) and the last but not the least, the rarest color that an individual adventurer could have, the highest among the ranks, the SSS-rank (BLACK).
Sid; "Now, that I think about it. Is it true?"
The other adventurers within the party stopped laughing and looked at him as if asking about what he was talking about, and Sid just scratch his cheeks out of embarrassment because of the sudden question that came out from his mouth.
"W-well, I'm talking about…"
His sentences were cut off when a wave of pressure came out of nowhere and his other party members were alerted by the sudden pressure that came out.
"What was that?!"
"Brace yourselves! Don't let your guard down!"
"Just what in the―?!"
Sid looked up as he noticed a giant silhouette that loomed over them, and he saw a massive beast with blue crystal scales all over its body and those fiery eyes looking at them.
*ROOOOAAAARRRRR!
Sid had his eyes widen in shock as he blurted out; "A d-dragon?! What's a dragon doing in here in the first place?!"
All of the members within the party heard what Sid stated as they all looked up at the creature looming over them.
One of them stated in shock; "For all I know, dragons aren't supposed to be within this area! Also, for another note, dragons are the most isolated creatures and shouldn't be out in the wild!"
Well, that's a common knowledge for everyone to know. Dragons are pride creatures and wouldn't dare to go on the wild that easily however, not all dragons are the same.
For example, the one who appeared before them isn't a real dragon though.
"That's not a dragon! It's just a hybrid lizard that has similar appearance to those dragons in the legend!"
One of the members in the party stated and all of them focused on the massive creature that appeared before them.
"Yeah, you're right! It's not a dragon but that doesn't mean we should let our guard down!"
Sid said as he frowned while looking at the massive beast that's most likely to approach them in full speed.
"GET READY!"
All of them got into their positions to defend themselves and the first member of the party unleashed his shield to tank the incoming hybrid creature ahead.
"H-HEY! WATCH IT!"
Sid shouted as he saw how that hybrid-looking dragon charged ahead and the one who deployed its shield charged as well to defend them from the hybrid-looking dragon's fierce charges.
