All of them got into their position as one of their party members tried his best to block the fierce charge coming towards at his direction and the hybrid-looking dragon roared once more.
*ROOOAAARRR!
Sid prepared his arrows and make a slingshot move to aimed at what he thinks is the weakest amongst the creature's scales while the others attack it at full force.
That one party member who shield them seems like he is now reaching to his limits but trying his best to defend his party members while the others are now at the frontal attack to take charge.
Minutes had passed and most of them are now exhausted but didn't dare to let their guard down since if one of them got distracted then, for sure all of them would be in grave danger.
Or worst-case scenario, all of them would die in the hands of this creature.
'D*mn it! Just how unlucky are we to suddenly encounter this kind of creature out of nowhere?!'
Sid thought as he panted heavily while trying to cover himself from the incoming wind attack coming from this hybrid-looking dragon as the said dragon keeps on flipping its wings as a sort of attack and since the wind is too strong that makes their eyes would have dust through with it, all of them tried to cover their eyesight to protect it from the dust that surrounds the area.
Sid coughed as he covered his eyes with his right arm as he shouted; "A-are you alright in there, TONI?!"
Toni, the one who deployed his shield to protect them from the fierce charges coming from the hybrid-looking dragon, coughed as well since most of the dust are around him and the creature is within his range while trying to maintain the shield to protect his other party members.
The man coughed one more time before he replied back to Sid; "I-I'm trying to hold my ground here! Do something before my shield destroys! I can only hold it for more than a minute or two! ARGH!"
Sid cursed under his breathe as he panics while looking at the other three members of the party as they tried to attack relentlessly to the monster in front of them.
However, not even a minute has passed but the hybrid-looking dragon counterattack as the monster flipped its wings once more that makes all of them had blown away because of the fierce wind that the monster created.
When the dust that surrounds them disappeared, all of them are now lying on the ground, battered with injuries and bruises in their bodies and some of them lose consciousness because of the relentless attack coming from the monster but Sid managed to keep his eyes opened as he stared back at the monster in front of them.
'Is this the end? A-are we… all going to die like this?'
"Tsk! So troublesome…"
Sid snapped from his thoughts when he heard a sudden mumbled voice coming from behind his back and immediately faced the unknown newcomer who mumbled at his side but what makes Sid's eyes widen in shock is because… he didn't feel that someone was at his side all along!
Not to mention, Sid couldn't even recognized if this person was a man or a woman!
'Who is this person?! Also, I didn't sense this person coming from behind my back!'
The mysterious person didn't look at Sid and just stared blankly at the hybrid-looking dragon, but Sid couldn't see this mysterious person's appearance because of its black hood that covers its appearance.
Sid's other party members are now unconscious and only him at least stayed awake from that sudden attack and managed to keep his eyes open but if others saw this, they would think that they were saved by this unknown person.
However, for Sid, as someone who was formerly worked as a Royal Knight from a different empire before he had settled here, his instincts never failed him, not even once.
Especially, for identifying a person that he needs to be wary off upon meeting for the first time.
'Although I don't sense malice on this person, but I know I need to be careful as I couldn't even sense its presence nor its aura and mana as well! Just who the hell is this?! Is this person belonging from some secret organization or something?! Like those hired assassins, perhaps?!'
However, Sid would also know if this mysterious person were an assassin or not since most of them reeks the scent of blood that they carried around, as if they were announcing themselves that they were vile killers with their arrogance.
"… Don't delude yourself to cover your past actions. None of those your fault anyway. Don't stray on the path that was destined for you…. SIGRID ANATOLE."
Sid, or as his real name Sigrid Anatole, couldn't help but had a shock expression on his face when this mysterious person called him out to his real name and not only that, but Sid also had a feeling that this mysterious person seemed to know him personally.
Also, the mysterious person's voice… sounds like a woman?!
'Who is she? How come she knew my real name? Does she come from [that faction]? Don't tell me… they are still after my life?!'
Before his thoughts would run deeper, the mysterious person, or much preferably, the mysterious woman snapped him from thinking any deeper.
"Don't think to much. I'll answer your questions later but first things first, I'll take care of this mess."
That monotone voice came from the mysterious woman that snapped him back to reality as he suddenly remembered that there is still a hybrid-looking creature that his party members had fought earlier.
As much as Sid had many questions to this mysterious woman but right now, although it hurts his pride but right now, he needs her help in this predicament.
Sid coughed as he panted heavily since he is still injured that he received when he had clashed his body in one of the trees around them and he felt some of his bones had cracked because of the impact.
"W-we…. J-just…. *cough! … *cough! … happened to encounter this monster along the way but from the looks from it, the appearance is similar to those dragons from the legends but it's not…"
