I moved around my room when Logan knocked on my door. "Enter Logan." I called out.
"How did you know it was me?" He asked as he opened the door.
"You're the only one that knocks four times, waits 3 seconds then knocks four more times." I told him. "Loren knocks as a madwoman and Father knocks twice and that is it." I tell him as I move around my room.
"Sweetheart?" He asked me as he touched my arm. "What is wrong?" He asked me.
"Never have you pitted me before Logan." I tell him as I looked up at him. "Why do you pity me now?" I asked him.
"Diana." He said as he pulled me to a stop and made me look at him. "Pity? Is that what you think we are doing?" He asked me. "We get it you feel the need to talk about the memories before they draw you. But at the same time, we don't know what to say about this love. Your father would never pity you because you deserve better than that. I may not know what to say about what you went through or when you joke about it but I would not pity you, Diana. You are far too strong to have anyone pity you."
"I want to kill them." I said softly.
"You, me, and your father." He sighed as he kissed my forehead.
"Death, who does that to a child?" I asked him.
"Someone who is very sick, love." He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back.
"I thought the dragon would always be the biggest weight." I said softly.
"I know." He said.
"How would you know?" I asked him.
"I saw the dragon before your father turned you. We were not sure what it was but before you turned it would move." He told me.
I blinked and looked up at him. "Why didn't you guys tell me?" I asked him.
"Because it never moved after you turned and you never said anything about it. I know we probably should have said something now but back then we didn't even know what it was. I know you just need to talk about what happened. I had to do the same with Amilia's death but just because we don't know what to say or don't say anything doesn't mean we pity you, Diana." He said resting his chin on my head.
"Okay okay come on we need to get ready." I said, stepping out of his hold.
"Matthew already packed for me the brat." He laughed and I smiled as I chuckled as I grab the last thing I needed and grabbed my pack.
"Oh, I see someone beat me here." Father said, looking at Logan.
"Nic." He said with a sigh.
"Father." I said hugging him.
"I am glad you're feeling better." He said as he hugged me back and held up a book. "I know you have read it a thousand times but I thought you may want it."
"Thank you, Dad." I said, smiling at him as I took the book from him and slipped it into the bag.
"Are we ready?" Mother asked us.
"Yes, mother." I said as I called my wolf and put Xavier on him.
"Come on." Father said as we headed out of the rooms to meet up with the rest of the group.
"Here." Mother said holding out multiple sets of earrings.
"Are these the heart blockers?" I asked her.
"Yes, they are. I spoke with your jeweler and they worked with me the other witches to get everyone a set." Mother said.
"That is good and kind of them." I said putting the earrings on.
"So does that mean I don't need the spell anymore?" Xavier asked.
"Not once we leave the lands." I tell him as we walked out of the castle.
"Is Leo coming with us?" Mother asked.
"Yes." I said as I looked at them. "For two reasons, one to keep Vicky save while she is outside the walls."
"And the other?" One of the guest guards asked.
"None of your concern." I tell him with a flat look.
He opened his mouth and now King Hart spoke up. "Hunter leave Lady Diana alone."
"King Hart." I smiled at him.
"That is going to take some getting used to." He sighed as he joined us.
"I am sure." I said with a smile.
"You should have heard the very large disagreement from half the things I have changed already and I have something else that I want to speak to you and King Logan about when we have a minute because there's something else I want to change and this kinda deals with the northern clan." I looked at him and Logan nodded.
"Very well." Logan said with a nod.
"So is everyone here?" I asked them.
"We are waiting on Lidia to get here." Luke said.
"Okay." I said.
"Who is this little one?" Hart asked as he put on the earrings.
"My Son Xavier." Mother said.
"Hello, little one I am Hart." He said with a smile.
"Hi!" He said then he tilted his head and looked past him and his eyes lit up. "UNCLE VAR!" He slid off Kraga and ran to him.
"Hey, little one." He said picking him up and set him on his shoulders. "Have you done anything interesting since I last saw you?"
"I helped Alice and Frank prank the guards." He giggled as he sat on his shoulder.
"What did you do?" I asked them.
"Low-grade volts from a bunch of metal balls then lay on the floor and somehow rigged to shoot at us." Lidia huffed as she joined us. "I apologize for being late."
"You're not late." I said looking at the sky.
"Your ability to tell time by the stars is amazing." Mother said.
"Thanks." I smiled at her.
"Alright, come on." Logan called out and started heading to the door.
"Xavier, you can not be pranking people." Mom scolded him as we walked.
"King Hart, what is it that you wanted?" I asked as we walked.
"I want to have every knight no matter how old go back through the mentorship with a different clan. I have Someone from the Bloodbound clan watching over my shoulder to help me run the clan and he and my siblings will be running things while we are there." He sighed.
I looked at Logan as he looked at me then to Hart then to Father who walked up beside us. "I honestly think we could all use second mentoring after a while to learn new things. That is why we originally set up the knight exchange program." He tells us.
"And I think that needs to be something we push again." Logan said with a sigh.
"I know when I was younger I wanted to enter it and go to the Torent clan to learn." Hart said.
"I think that would be a good idea but we would need to do it in turns so we don't run out of knights who can teach." I hummed.
"That would be bad." He agreed. "But I don't want to bring someone in under us until I know that they would be respected." He tells me.
"Here we are." Maxwell said as he yanked the door open.
"Lovely." I said as we entered the wall.
"Heres the other door." I said as I turned to the nob and almost smacked someone when I opened it. "Oh, I am sorry." I said then I stopped and then I wanted to do it again. "Never mind hello Rayrach." I said as I moved away from the door and glared at my stepfather.
"What are you doing here?" Mother asked him.
"Rayrach Magic Blessed you moron I told you to stay in the camp." One of the elders stormed up to him.
"I want my son!" He snarled as Uncle laughed as Xavier said something before he looked at his father with wide worried eyes.
"Oh no." He said softly as Father Uncle and I hissed at him.
"Varance keep Xavier." Mother said as she dragged him away and started yelling.
"Hello Elder Thomas." I said.
"Lady Diana." He nodded to me. "We have everyone?" He asked as I looked behind me.
"Yea it looks like it." I said. "Elder Thomas, this is King Logan North, my king. This is Young King Hart Conver of the Conver clan." I said pointing to him.
"Hello Elder." Hart said.
"The one who has Xavier is my Uncle King VaranceTorent of the Torent clan."
"Night's blessing." Uncle said.
"This is Queen Breanna Nightshade of the Nightshade clan."
"Elder Thomas." She said.
"Then we have Young Queen Nela Nightshade of the Nightworth clan."
"Nights Blessing elder."
"Then there is Queen Pamila Noctis or the Noctis clan."
"Elder." She huffed.
"King Icarus Tantibus of the Tantibus clan."
"I am Diana's other uncle, Night's blessing."
"The Lamia Clan Queen Lauren Lamia."
"Greetings Elder."
"And last but not least King Horis of the Sanguinoso clan."
"Greetings elder."
