I could not help but chuckle at that. "I think everyone feels vulnerable compared to their parents," I said with a sigh.
"Or with our kids when they are going through something we can't help them with," Father tells me as he pats my head. "I know you have a lot going on in your head, my child, but talk to me."I sighed as I tugged at his sleeve. He smiled and laid beside me and wrapped us in shadows. "Better?" He asked.
"Yes." She agrees.
"Now tell me what is bothering you."
"I am scared," I tell him softly.
"Of what?" He asked me.
"Because I feel like I am turning into someone I can not control," I said with a sigh. "When would I have ever gone off like I did yesterday without a plan of dealing with people? I always have a plan but I feel so impulsive."
"You knew that you needed to move quickly, traffickers from what Rowen tells me never stay in one place long and you know that. So you acted, which is what you needed to do." He tells me. "If you had not, if you would have let the fear I know that you have of facing your tormentors, you would not be my Diana." He snorted as he hugged me.
"I feel like I am losing control of who I am," I said softly.
"I get that we all have times when we feel that way. When my father kicked me out I had no idea what I was going to do or who I was going to be." He said softly. "What we are is a collective of what we have been through Diana. Who we are is a choice we make every day. I could have ended up like Oliver but I didn't. I stayed strong and so will you." He said softly. "No matter what happens, you're still my little girl. You will get everything settled up here." He said tapping my head made me giggle and lean against him and hummed softly. "We will always be here Logan and I will not leave you. Your mother just got you back. Do you think she is going to leave anytime soon. I think she would raid the lands herself looking for you. And Xavier did you see how upset he was when I told him you needed a night alone? You have that boy wrapped around your finger. He wants his big sister and no one will tell him no."
I huffed at that. "He does seem to be clinging to me," I said softly. I
"Cling? My dear if you were his younger sister I think he would try to beat Logan with a metal bat." He huffed.
I could not help but laugh at that. "I could see him doing that with anyone who tries to go after Alice or Frank." I agreed with him.
"Yea them too." He agreed with a smile as he sighed. "How bad it is?" He asked me.
"On a scale of what to what?" I asked softly.
"I don't know." He said.
"Let's go with this. Not as confused as I was when you found me but no way in death am I as confident with myself before I left for the end." I tell him I licked my lips as I can feel the venom leak from my eyes. "Great thing about this is now I have my Hotara. I now have a mom and younger brother. The bad thing is I don't know who I am anymore." I told him.
"You said it yourself, your Diana Arcaria-Torent-Dragon." He said softly.
"Yea but who is that?" I asked him.
"Who do you think it is?" He asked me.
I worked my jaw and then sighed as I rolled over onto my back looking up into the shadows. "Someone who is kind," I said softly.
"I can agree that you are kind to those who deserve it," Father said softly. "But is that all who you are?"
"No." I snorted. "I am hotheaded, I am a bitch when pissed off. I am loving, I am patient more with children than adults." I smiled. "I love my family, my king, and clan," I said softly.
"Quiet literal on loving your king." He chuckled and I slapped his arm.
"Hush you." I sighed.
"You know more than I did when I lost my path." He said, patting my head again. "You are my child and no one will ever change that."
"But I better be getting a younger sibling at some point!" I argued with him.
"Yea you will." He agreed with me.
"Good," I said softly.
"I know you always love kids but I better not become a grandfather any time soon." He huffed and I slapped him again.
"You know that it will be after marriage for that… if I can even have kids." I said softly. "If not, I will adopt."
"Why do you say if you can have them?" He asked me.
I bit my lip and they sighed. "One of the people who purchased me wanted to use me to give birth to a child after three months of not being able to, he gave me back."
"It could have been that your magic kept you from getting pregnant since you didn't want to be." He said softly.
"That is true, I never thought about that," I said softly. "Thought I did shock the hell out of myself after he had sex with me the first few times. Then he put magic suppressant cuffs on me. That may have done it." I said softly.
"You did what you thought was best for you when you were being held against your will but why did you not turn yourself to lighting at that point?" He asked me.
"Before that, I was kept in a magic dampening room. I could use a small amount of magic but not a lot of magic." I told him.
"You used what you could to protect yourself." He said softly.
"If that is not the truth." I sighed. "What happened before you were taken in by King Frank?" I asked him.
"I wandered around a lot trying to find work, getting really pissed that no one would take me." He tells me. "Then I met Maxwell. He was wandering around teaching and he took me in."
"Teacher has done that before." I chuckled.
"I was the first one he took in." He told me and I sat up.
"You never told me that," I said softly.
"No, I didn't." He agreed with me. "But then we wandered south towards the Lamia clan when he was called back to the North. The messenger tried to tell him to just leave me behind because my stupid ass was cocky and got my leg broke because I tried to fight 30 vampires alone." He snorted as I raised an eyebrow at him. "Maxwell told the guy to fuck off and he brought me north with him. King Frank was a smart man; he knew Maxwell would not bring someone who would be a danger to his family and clan." Father smiled as he thought back. "King Frank asked me what good I would be to his clan. I thought about it for what felt like a day when I gave this answer. "I may not be much now. But my shadows allow me to command and control other shadows and the people to own those shadows. I know the ways of most of the clans and I have a passion for taking care of little ones. I may not be anything but I can be molded into anything you want me to be." Do you know what he did then?" He asked me.
"What?" I asked him as I laid back down.
"He smiled at me and laughed. He said that all young ones, myself included, are molded by the experiences we have and that he would be a fool to turn a young one who wishes to make himself better away. That with the information I had and could gain is a grain of sand compared to potential that I had to give." He smiled and then looked at me. "You have so much potential, my child do not lose your heart because your head is playing tricks on you." He tells me.
I smiled and then sighed. "I will do my best Father."
"Good." He pulled me to him and kissed my head when someone knocked on the shadows.
The shadows dropped mother and Xavier onto the bed. "That was fun." Xavier said.
"That was odd." Mother said with a sigh as she sat up on the bed.
"What can we do for you?" Father asked her.
"I wanted to check on everyone but you did not answer so I figured you would have been with Logan working on whatever was going on with the traity you guys would want but he said you were not with him he pointed me here since apparently someone has been acting off since yesterday." She said, looking at me.
"Just dealing with things in my head." I said softly.
"I bet there is a lot." Mother agreed with me.
"No kidding." I said as Xavier wiggled himself up against me and looked at me.
