A grand, opulent building, at least three stories high and maybe four or five times wide, folded into view. It looked like a grand mansion of an earl. As the biggest guild branch, the branch of the capital city of the kingdom, it had to fit the style in its size. It held a lot of land in various parts around the city, with all its buildings, structures and holdings together it fit about 2000 acres.
It fit a Victorian aesthetic, and at the very forefront of its roofing was the proud emblem of the Triparte Guilds, a mage's staff and an axe crossing over another with a sword embedded right in between in the centre of a gold wreath, all over a grand shield.
Travis entered through the grand double doors, and the inside was perhaps more spacious than outside. A grand desk lay at the end of a great red carpet from the entrance, to the sides of which were staircases twisting semi-circularly to the next level.
To the sides of the building were sets of tables; to the left was a canteen area for food and water, with all shapes and sizes of tables and chairs. To the right was the supplies store with big square tables; equipment could be rented as needed by adventurers who would be making long trips. They also sold supplies such as medical potions brewed by certified, board-approved potion brewers, as well as a variety of miscellaneous items.
He could see the canteen workers setting up their supplies and starting to heat up soup broth, and the supplies store setting up their wares.
Travis ascended the staircase, a much less spacious area, an almost maze-like set of hallways leading to different rooms. As the centre of all guild operations, the Evaidas Guild Branch hosted the offices of many guild officials for meetings, had several specialised workrooms and shared office spaces for many miscellaneous duties required to keep operations running smoothly.
At this early hour, there were no assistants running around delivering messages, so Travis had an easy walk up to the third floor, where more important boardrooms were situated, guestrooms for delegations that would be spending a night or two, and some recreational spaces for the staff.
Then of course, was the fourth floor. The floor housing the office of the Guild Masters. Entrusted with the day-to-day smooth operations of the guilds they were in charge of, as well as the expansion of the guild's services and operations, they were burdened with heavy responsibilities. Responsibilities heavy enough to warrant Travis hiring several assistants.
None of them were here yet. Travis entered his office, a rather spacious one given its minimalistic decoration. A brown desk and cushioned chair faced the doorway, the early morning light flying in through the windows on the sides of the office after he tied up the curtains. Five seats were laid out in a semi-circle around the desk, facing away from the doorway, in case visitors needed a seat.
The walls and floorboard were made of enhanced dark oak wood, and from the ceiling were artificer-made floating lamps with exotic gems inside, lighting up when they detected the presence of a person but no natural light, or when given the command to light up.
As his assistants open the door to his room, greeting him for the day, he's already at his desk, quill in hand, with fresh stacks of paper to look over, organise, or sign off on. Or, in an overwhelming majority, all three.
