There were many adventurers and adventuring groups, and they all took many requests per month. If the records were to be kept in parchment, it would be disastrous if they all burned up somehow, and they would quickly run out of storage. In order to log the details of every single adventurer and adventuring group out there, a veritable army of artificers, together with a band of Guild Masters, created a system.
A heavy device on the corner of the desk of a Guild Master, called the Guild Record System Conduit (or just Conduit for short), a spherical shell of glass containing a floating gem inside, would be attuned to each new Guild Master as they came into office.
These were the access points to the 'Triparte Guilds Records System.' The system would record information regarding adventurers and adventuring groups, keeping to record their personal information such as name, age, gender, achievements, ranks, key dates, noteworthy actions (whether positive or negative), and a whole host of other information necessary for the guild to log.
Information could be added, edited or removed by any Guild Master, though it was an unspoken law between all of them that only the Guild Master of the branch that an adventurer or adventuring group registered with be allowed to do such things. The date, time and identity of the Guild Master doing so would also be logged, as well as what information was added, edited, and/or removed.
This made sure that any tampering would not go unnoticed, and so that Guild Masters did not have an unmanageable amount of power over any adventurer/adventuring group. It would not do if one Guild Master suddenly gained any grudge and unfairly attacked adventurers or adventuring groups.
Those were just the adventurer profiles. When managing the logs of commissions that adventurers or adventuring groups complete, guild receptionists have editing rights to add or edit (or remove, if necessary) to the list of completed, uncompleted or failed commissions logs. That, at least, would help lighten the load for guild masters everywhere.
The record system was a marvel of artificer engineering. It had taken the resources of years' worth of exotic-infused materials and artificers of all skills and specialisations just in order to get the project's details set on paper. Travis was proud that he had a hand in its creation.
