Chapter 3 - Chapter 03

"Don't keep Uncle and Aunty waiting. Come in!" Lenata invited.

--

Minah, the maid, welcomed Calista's arrival. However, her parents and brother were nowhere to be seen.

"Welcome back to the house, lady. It's good to see you again." Said Minah.

Calista replied with just a smile.

"Where's papa?" Calista asked.

"Master is in the back garden, lady," Minah replied.

"What about Mom?" Calista asked again.

"Madam is in her room."

"Calvino?"

"Young master is still in the office."

"Well then, I wanna meet daddy first. Please make a drink for Lenata, Minah."

"Alright, lady," Minah replied, and she immediately went to the kitchen.

"Len, I wanna see my dad first. You can wait here or go straight to my room."

Lenata nodded.

Calista immediately went to look for her father and how surprised she was to find her father staring blankly until he didn't notice the presence of his favourite daughter.

With trembling fingers, Calista reached out to touch his father's shoulder.

"Dad..." Calista called her father in a trembling voice.

Seeing his daughter standing in front of him, Bramantara immediately hugged her tightly.

'Why doesn't dad welcome my arrival but stand here alone? Doesn't he miss me?' Calista thought sadly.

Realising his daughter's back was shaking with sobs, Bramantara tightened the hug even more. He repeatedly kissed the top of his daughter's head longingly.

'I'm sorry for letting you get through this married life. I should never have trusted that jerk.' Bramantara growled.

As a successful entrepreneur who has owned many companies spread across Indonesia and also abroad, of course, it made Bramantata easier to investigate his daughter's life after marriage with her husband in London.

He did this to make sure his daughter's marriage problems have never been out of his sight, but so far, he has only chosen to remain silent.

Bram's emotions were no longer controlled when he saw his daughter's destruction. The marriage that he was against from the start has scratched the deepest wound in Calista's heart and also the Kafeel family.

"I will take care of the divorce process soon."

Calista gasped as she heard what her father had just said. She immediately broke the hug, looked up at her father, and glared in disbelief at what her father had just said.

Sturdy fingers stretched out to cover her daughter's cheeks affectionately.

"I have taken care of everything." Said Bram.

"But, dad."

"There's no protest. You must obey my order this time."

'But I'm pregnant, dad.' Callista screamed in her heart.

Calista couldn't hold back the tears anymore.

While chatting with her beloved daughter, Minah came over.

Bramantara immediately turned his face as he realized Minah's presence. However, the look in his eyes seemed to say 'what's wrong, Minah?'

"Madame is waiting for you both in the dining room." Minah answered.

Bramantara took Calista's hand and led his daughter to the dining room. Calista wondered where her mother was because the only one in the dining room was Lenata.

"Where's my mom, Len?" Calista wondered.

"Looking for me, honey?" Said Dreena, who walked down the stairs.

Calista immediately ran to hug her mother. Without her knowing, Dreena immediately wiped her tears roughly when the hug unravelled and embraced her daughter's cheeks affectionately.

"I miss you so much, dear," Said Dreena as she kissed her daughter's forehead for a long time.

"I miss you so much, mom. I apologise for never visiting you."

Calista did so not because she didn't miss her mother but because of Jozh's threats, not to mention Laurent, her mother-in-law.

"What's wrong? I don't like seeing my beautiful daughter with swollen eyes. You won't be looked beautiful anymore, honey." Dreena comforted Calista when she saw the tears falling down her daughter's cheeks.

While enjoying the lunch process, no one dared to speak up. It was like the Kafeel family tradition. There must be a particular time to talk to each other.

Even though Bramantara was a wealthy person, he still applied the norms of courtesy in his family.

After the lunch process was over, Calista immediately walked into her room, as she was accompanied by Lenata.

Even though Dreena still wants to talk to her beloved daughter, Bramantara immediately reminded her that Calista needeed time to rest.

"Then, I'll follow you to the room." Said Dreena.

"Honey." Bramantara tried to stop. Dreena, who didn't know anything at all, immediately cast a questioning look.

The look in Bramantara's eyes seemed to say that later he would definitely explain.

While in the room, Calista still faithfully chatted with deep sadness. Lenata also chose silence. All she did was hug Calista, rub her back in an up and down motion trying to give her a sense of peace. And, of course, this made Calista cried even more.

"What's wrong, Calista?"

"Dad already knew everything, Len," Calista whispered. There was despair in her tone.

"It's only natural for uncle Bram to know."

"So you told my dad?" Lenata plied with a penetrating gaze.

"Listen to me, Calista. Your dad is a successful businessman. His network is very wide. There's no way your dad doesn't investigate your life in London." Calista was immediately shocked to hear it.

'Does It mean that for the past three years, dad had known everything about Jozh's affair and the child that Lana is carrying?' Calista thought sadly.

Calista's tears exploded at the thought of her father's suffering for three years, who witnessed her married life.

Lenata tried to calm Calista down, and she took her body back into her arms, rubbing her back repeatedly, trying to convey a sense of peace.

When Calista heard a knock on the door, she immediately wiped her tears roughly because she didn't want anyone to know about her sadness.

"Who's that, Len?" Calista was confused.

Lenata was still not answering.

Calvino had barged in, showering Calista with looks that were hard to decipher.

"Lenata, can you come out for a minute? I want to talk to Calista alone." Calvino asked without taking his eyes off Calista.
