Chapter 7 - Chapter 07

'Calvin, please save me.' Calista screamed in her heart.

--

Under the dim lights, Jozh's face was getting closer and even more sinister as he grinned savagely. The burning passion was evident in his eyes.

Jozh then roughly opened the cloth gagging Calista's mouth. His gaze full of adoration made Calista even more fearful.

"You're so beautiful, honey. Do you know what? I always miss moments like this."

Shortly after, Jozh kissed Calista's lips without mercy.

Finding that the lips he longed for didn't welcome him, he immediately bit the bottom and violently stuck his tongue in. There was no love in his kiss except the overflow of anger and frustration.

Meanwhile, Calista felt so disgusted that she wanted to throw up.

Jozh straightly distanced, but his gaze never left Calista's beautiful face.

"You must serve me with love like you used to, baby."

"No!"

"So, you prefer me to force you, huh?" Jozh began to unbutton his shirt with lustful eyes.

"What do you want to do? Let me go!" Callista shouted.

"Come on, scream as loud as you can, honey. No one will come to save you."

"This is kidnapping! I guarantee you will be in prison soon!" Calista threatened Jozh.

Even though Calista's body was shivering with fear, she tried to cover it up.

"You bitch, I don't care at all. All I want is to punish you for daring to leave me!"

Jozh's fingers reached out to caress Calista's cheek.

"And what is this, hum? You afraid of me?" Jozh's firm lips curled into a triumphant grin.

"Don't be afraid, honey. I will give you a punishment of pleasure, not pain like I used to do. After that, I will surrender myself to the police."

"You're crazy, Jozh! Let me go now!"

"Don't be loud if you don't want to feel this pain all over your body!" Jozh snapped, making Calista's body shiver with fear.

"Don't act like a good woman. I know how many philanderers have fucked you while you were my wife." Said Jozh angrily.

One thing Jozh didn't understand was why the woman he loved so dearly betrayed the sacred vows of marriage and made him vent his disappointment on Lana.

"Is that how bad you think of me, Jozh?"

"Great, your mom is an extraordinary woman because she has managed to poison your mind, overcome your love, made you forget how hard our struggles used to be until you have the heart to torture me for years, and even give me the bitter pill of marriage..."

"Do you realise what you've been doing all this time, Jozh? You've hurt me, ruined my life! And now, you want to repeat that mistake again? Aren't you satisfied that you hurt me? Not satisfied yet, huh?"

Calista's voice and gaze conveyed honesty. The bitterness of the past has returned to shackles.

What Calista had just said hit Jozh's consciousness and left a pain in his heart. He then immediately got out of bed.

His fingers stretched out to caress Calista's hair and then showered the top of his head with regretful kisses.

Now, Jozh untied the knot, rubbing the wrist that was starting to turn blue.

Again, Jozh kissed Calista gently and then brought his face closer to her lips, kissing her briefly. It was a kiss full of longing mixed with regret and deep pain.

"I'll come back and treat your every wound, honey. Mark my promise."

Shortly after, Jozh immediately walked away, leaving Calista alone, accompanied by only dim light.

With her body still shaking violently, Calista tried to find the exit by combing the walls to leave the cursed place quickly.

Calvino was anxious as he waited for Calista's return. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall over and over again. The clock showed 1 in the morning, but Calista had not yet arrived home.

He was sorry for not picking up his sister first and instead attended a meeting that a trusted person should handle.

"Where are you, Calista?" Calvino muttered as he repeatedly tried to contact Calista's phone but still no answer.

Calvino immediately grabbed the car key, but before he stepped into the garage, he faintly heard footsteps climbing the stairs. He directly ran there, and what he saw really made his heart feel relieved.

"Thank goodness you're home, sweetie. Did something happen at the office?" Calvino asked probingly.

Without answering, Calista just shook her head and rushed to her room.

"Calista, wait!" Calista then turned her head.

"Why did you just get home at this hour? What exactly happened? And why can't I reach your phone? Tell me!"

"Nothing happened, Vin. My phone was off. I'm tired. I want to rest," Calista replied while rubbing Calvino's jaw.

"What's wrong with your hand?" Calista was shocked, not knowing what to make of an excuse.

"Calista, answer me! Why are your hands turning blue?"

It was impossible to tell the truth about what happened. Calista lied by explaining that she had sprained her hand.

"You have to be more careful next time. Let me treat your wound first."

"It's just a small wound. I can treat it myself. I'm exhausted today, so I want to rest right away. Good night, Calvin."

"Good night too, sweetheart."

'Something must have happened to you, Calista. You don't usually come home this late.' Calvino thought by locking his gaze on Calista's frail back, which was gradually disappearing from his sight.

This morning, Calvino woke up early because he had to attend an important meeting. Before going to the office, he prepared breakfast for Calista and didn't forget to slip a note on the nightstand.

Calista, who had just opened her eyes, was surprised by the curtains of the room that had been opened. She thought her brother must have done all of this.

Usually, Calista was the one who woke up early, but today, she woke up late.

Inadvertently, the corner of her eye caught the note lying on the nightstand.

Good morning my beloved sister.

Your breakfast is ready. Don't forget to eat it. I leave early because I have an important meeting with a client. This afternoon, I will pick you up at your office for lunch at our favourite restaurant.

- Your brother, Calvin -

Calista read the note with a smile. She then ran to the bathroom, not wanting to be late for work. Before leaving, she ate his beloved brother's cooking.

'If I could find a man as great as Calvin..' Calista muttered to herself while exhaling heavily.
