Chapter 4 - Chapter 04

"Lenata, can you come out for a minute? I want to talk to Calista alone." Calvino asked without taking his eyes off Calista.

--

After Lenata left the room, Calvino immediately locked the door, then hurriedly pulled Calista's body into his hug, pouring out all the longing.

Calvino covered Calista's face with trembling hands, staring intently at a beautiful face he had not seen for the past three years since her move to London.

Neither Calvino nor his family was allowed to visit without Jozh's permission.

"I miss you to death. Why don't you ever want to visit? You stupid girl." Calvino hit Calista's head.

"Don't you ever miss this family and me, huh?" Unable to answer, Calista continued to sob in Calvino's arms.

After hugging each other for a long time, Calvino broke the hug and kissed Calista's forehead with great affection.

"Dad has taken care of everything. You are safe now." Calvino then grasped Calista's fingers.

"I'm sorry for entrusting you to that bastard man. I promise from now on. I will take care of you from any man. I won't let any man approach you again, Calista." Calvino added.

"You aren't wrong. Why should you apologise? And for my problem, let me solve it myself." Calista replied.

"Don't tell me you still love that bastard!" Calvino exclaimed, feeling objected.

"It's not that, but..."

'I'm pregnant….' Said Calista in her heart.

"That's enough, Calista! You've been hurt, and you're still crying over that bastard??! Look at you! Is Kafeel's daughter this weak, huh?"

For some reason, Calista's lips suddenly felt numb to speak, and these stupid tears were still dripping without being able to stop.

Calvino's jaw instantly hardened, his eyes darkened, and his hands clenched into fists.

Frustrated, that was what Calvino felt when he found out that Calista still loved the man who had ruined her life.

"Raise your face and wipe your tears, Calista!" Calvino reinforced his twin sister. However, Calista's body trembled with sobs.

Calvino was getting fed up, so he immediately got out of bed. When his hand reached out to press the door handle, he first looked at Calista.

Calista's disorganised appearance made her twin brother so angry that he subconsciously put his hand against the wall.

"Let's talk about it later." Said Calvino while slamming the door behind him.

Calvino seemed harsh and rude, but he never messed up with women, considering his twin sister was also a woman.

One miserable thing was why he handed Calista into Jozh's arms, letting her suffer being in the midst of a family that didn't want her presence at all.

Seeing the family's beloved son descending the stairs, Dreena rushed over.

"Where's Calista?" Dreena Asked.

"In her room," Calvino replied.

"Why don't you take me downstairs for dinner?" Without answering, Calvino walked straight into the dining room, sitting next to Lenata.

When Dreena was about to follow Calista to the room, Bramantara stopped her immediately. He then asked Minah, the maid, to call Calista to the dining room.

"Sorry, master. Lady is sleeping." Said Minah.

Dreena's brows furrowed as if she was wondering if Calista was still asleep in the afternoon, unlike Bramantara, Calvino, and Lenata, who were not surprised at all.

Dreena was the only one who didn't know about the actual incident.

This morning, when everyone was in the dining room, only Calista wasn't there.

Without being asked, Minah walked straight to Calista's room.

"Lady, it's time for breakfast." Said Minah, calling her lady.

"I'll just have breakfast in my room. Can you please bring me a cake and a glass of milk?" Said Calista from the bathroom.

While delivering the breakfast menu for Calista, Dreena immediately stopped. She wanted to give directly to her beloved daughter.

There were many things that Dreena wanted to talk to Calista about.

"Calista," Dreena called her daughter from the doorway.

Hearing there was no answer, she immediately opened the door handle, but she found out her daughter wasn't in the room. She wondered where she was.

Not long after, there was a faint sound of sobs coming from the bathroom.

Dreena rushed to open the door and how surprised she was to see her beloved daughter sitting limply holding her elbows under the shower water.

No one knew how long she had been in that position until her face was pale, and her lips were starting to turn blue.

"Calista," Dreena shouted, then immediately turned off the shower faucet. She then hung her beloved daughter's body, who was shivering in the cold.

Dreena immediately covered her with a thick blanket, leading her to the bed.

"Please leave Calista, mom."

"But, honey."

"Mom, please."

One thing Dreena was sure about was something must have happened to her beloved daughter. Before walking out of the room, she whispered something that could make Calista gasp.

"Mom..." Calista called when Dreena left the room.

"Thank you for accepting me back to this house after so long since I left," Said Calista in a trembling voice.

The tears she had been trying to hold back for a long time finally spilt out. Now, she burst into tears in her mother's arms.

"Why don't you ever come back to this house again, Calista? Did your husband forbid you?" Dreena asked.

"Mom and dad miss you, especially your brother, who always insists on taking you to London, but dad always forbids us. I don't have a clue why he does that."

'So, Calvin already knows? Does that mean Mama knows everything too?' Calista muttered in her heart.

"What do you wanna say, dear? What's up?" Dreena was even worried when Calista held her head and soon lost consciousness.

Panic, that was what Dreena felt, so she immediately called her husband.

Calista was immediately rushed to the hospital and was currently being treated by a doctor.

Meanwhile, Dreena and Bramantara were waiting outside the treatment room.

Calvino immediately cancelled the meeting after he received the news that Calista had been admitted to the hospital. He then drove the car at such high speed that he no longer cared for his own safety.
