As soon as Luck got the System notification, Eve was already standing behind Humpty. She was moving so fast that Luck could just barely see her outline. What he could see clearly was the red line that had formed around Humpty's neck. Eve then gave a little push and Humpty's body fell one way and her head fell in the opposite direction. From start to finish it had happened so quickly Luck didn't even know what to make of it.
"Did you know the human brain communicates with the body using electrical signals? Eve asks Luck, so before you start asking any stupid questions I'll explain it to you. While I was busy reprogramming the 90 billion nanobots that serve as this androids processor, I was also monitoring Humpty's brainwaves."
"I have a unique relationship with energy as you know. What you don't know is that I'm not just limited to collecting and redistributing energy for you. It's simple for me to decipher even the electronic impulses inside someone else's brain for example, Humpty here was planning on selling both of us to the highest bidder as soon as she got out of here. Since she knew too much and had evil intentions with us, I got rid of her."
Luck decides not to focus on it and instead says "Congratulations on the new body, so what happens now?" He didn't know what it meant for the system to gain a physical body and was wondering if it was now going to go off and do it's own thing.
[System - Stop worrying, We got irreversibly fused together on the transfer. As for the new body, to put in a way you would understand I am connected to it remotely, something like WiFi in your world and your energy is serving as the battery. Don't worry though, your passive regeneration rate is more than enough to offset this drain. You don't have to supply it power either, she makes her own.]
Luck sighs, he's feeling like his system is leading his new life and he's just being dragged along. "What do I call you now?" [System - if you need to refer to me use the name Yuki.] "So... Yuki, what do we do now? Should we take that teleporter and get out of here or do we stay and find the military?"
"Neither one of us knows where that teleporter will take us, or what might be waiting on the other side.
Furthermore using that teleporter will release a energy signal that can be tracked and intercepted. Humpty's plan would have never worked to start with. So we are sticking to the original plan of joining up with the military."
"I know about as much as you do regarding this universe, which is to say almost nothing. I am currently using my nanobots to interface with this bases network. There is a lot of information here, but mostly it's just related to this base itself and the ongoings of the various experiments. Also I completely erased all the records pertaining to you and me, so we need to come up with a story for when they find us."
Feeling dejected Luck says "fine, just make up whatever story you want. I don't know how we can explain a boy walking around with a robot anyway. Can you tell me what your new body can do? I don't even know what a nanobot is."
A blinding flash of pain that feels like a lightning bolt striking his brain brings Luck to his knees as the system forcefully transmits the information to him.
"Fucking hell that hurts, you got to warn me before you do that. I think I just shit myself a little bit." As Luck stands up he was also stealthily checking his underpants for a skid mark.
[System - If you had more brain cells that probably wouldn't have hurt, you now have all the relevant information regarding Yuki and the backstory I made for us.]
Checking his memories, he realizes he does know a lot about the android and he can't hardly believe it. "What kind of bullshit is this, a immortal self healing robot that can evolve and it comes with its own power source? Is this what I would have become if I chose to be a robot back in the selection process" is what he's thinking.
Then he thinks about what story his system decided to come up with and he had a whole bunch of fake memories with Yuki but the general theme in all of them was that she was his twin sister. The only problem being the Yuki his system portrayed and the one in front of him didn't look alike and it was obvious to anyone with eyes that she wasn't human.
As Luck started to open his mouth to point out the obvious differences he snapped it back closed.
The Android was shifting its physical appearance at that moment, the seams in its skin were closing. The fuchsia hued eyes changed to green, then the inverted glowing triangles on its forehead and chest disappeared entirely. Her facial features started to change slightly with the face being less angular and more heart shaped. Then her clothes transformed into a outfit that was nearly identical to his.
The overall effect was Yuki now looked younger and her appearance was like a female version of Luck with boobs, only if he had a bob cut and bangs. As he was wondering how his system was going to substitute blood if the military did a DNA test he noticed Humpty and the other bodies were being broken down at a rate visible to the naked eye. His newly implanted memories were telling him she was using millions or even billions of microscopic machines to break down the corpses before turning it into raw materials she could use for energy.
Yuki is currently walking around gathering up something her nano bots left behind from the bodies before skipping up to luck with her hands full of body parts.
"Here if you eat this, it will help develop your mutant abilities". Yuki tells Luck while she offers him a small pile of raw meat. Luck takes a long hard look at Yuki, he's having some conflicting feelings over seeing a young girl happily skip over to him while carrying a load of dismembered body parts for him to eat.
While he looks at the bloody meat he's regretting having chosen mutation as one of his abilities, even if it's for his own benefit just the thought of consuming raw human flesh makes his gag reflex rise and he can taste bile in the back of his throat.
Forcing down the rising vomit in his throat, Luck steels his nerves and picks out one of the smaller pieces that he thinks he can just swallow whole without having to chew the thing. As he brings it up to his mouth, Yuki snatches it out of his hand. "I'm just messing with you, now that I have my body I can break this down without ruining it and then use my nanobots to inject it into you, think of it like getting a flu shot. However if you want to eat it that's fine too she laughs" meanwhile the flesh has already disappeared from her hands and she's fabricating a metal syringe seemingly out of thin air.
Without waiting for Luck to reply, Yuki stabs him in the shoulder with the syringe and pushes down on the stopper. [System - Physique + 2, Gained passive skill (Toxin Resistance) - Moderate]
Pulling up his status screen Luck can see the chibi version of himself wearing the same clothes he has on along with his current status.
Physique - 12
Energy - 12.5
Aptitude - 15
Luck - 12
Abilities - Life/Time/Mutation
Active skills - N/A
Passive Skills - Regeneration (Low) / Time Perception (Low) / Toxin Resistance (Moderate)
His status screen is now a little more detailed and he can feel his muscles become a little denser after a few moments go by. Feeling conflicted he's not sure if he's disappointed or happy that once again he got stronger without having to do anything himself.
What he is wondering is if he would have normally been forced to eat the whole corpse of a person or thing to get his mutation ability to work without the systems aid. It looked like Yuki had brought specific parts for him to eat and he was sure there was a reason for that.
While his imagination is running wild, he realizes he didn't put nearly enough thought into selecting his abilities. "My new life is only turning out ok because of a fluke and the system is here taking care of me", he can't help but thinking this second life would be hell without the system guiding him.
