Sky's POV
I was quite relieved knowing that I can now keep an eye on Alexander while on my duty and I feel so smart knowing that we can earn money with it. After introducing him to Lucas, we went straight to the nearby museum to see what was inside the hall and to get him used to the place. It's not that late but we probably have an hour or half to tour him around the place. We went into the museum without any fuss and from the entrance, I could see a part of the museum exclusive for the upcoming event.
"This is where they are going to hold the party," I said and went to that place. It has barriers and I don't think we are able to go in. I tried hard not to look suspicious while looking at that part of the museum. It has a few chairs and tables. A podium is standing on a huge stage at the front part of the venue. The setup is elegant, you can see fake flowers everywhere, and the curtains, table clothes are all white and has golden borders in the corners. The place is all white and gold and has a huge space in the center.
I can't quite believe that they prepared this a week before the event. This venue looks expensive even without the food and everything. As I have observed, it's not finished yet since I could see a lot of indoor ladders and ribbons on the floor.
"Party?" He asked me. I looked at him when he asked that. I didn't know he doesn't know the word 'party.
"Celebration," I answered him. "The new owner of the key named Liam Wong will be having a celebration in this place," I went closer to him. "That's when you're going to steal it," I whispered but got no response. "This place will be filled with people during that time and that's when you're going to blend in the crowd and pretend that you're one of them."
"Why do I have to blend in when I could just hide and take it from somewhere?" He asked me.
"I don't think they are going to let you in. This place will be filled with staff and bodyguards too. It'll be hard for you to hide somewhere close for you to see when he is going to take the key out." I explained.
Well, that was just my theory, Lima Wong and the people who will be attending the party are all important people. There could be celebrities, businessmen, and delegates. I also couldn't see a place for him to hide during that time. There are indoor balconies but I don't think those places wouldn't be guarded during the event.
"You need to dress up during that time. You see that?" I pointed at the podium. "There will be different people standing and talking on that. That is called a podium, once the person who will be standing there mentions the name 'Liam Wong', you'll see another person on that stage. That's Liam Wong." I explained. "And for you to blend in the crowd, you have to talk to someone else and brag about anything. I'll give you different expensive car models and claim that you own one. Tell them your house is huge and you live in an expensive village and tell them you own a unit in a luxurious condominium. " I told him. Those were the thing I wanna have in life but I couldn't. I'm jst going to let him brag about it since they are not going to see him again after that.
"You're telling me to lie to them?" He questioned me. Is lying the same as pretending? I stopped and smile.
"Yes, you need to. They are not going to see you again anyway." I answered but he still couldn't believe what I said. " And Oh, Can you read my mind from a far place?" I asked. We will be needing to communicate during that time in case he will be needing my help. "Like, from the bar?" I asked.
"Yes," he answered shortly.
"I will be in the bar during that time. Enter my mind if you need something." I said.
I don't know if this will be enough for us to take the key. If we won't be able to take it during that event, I don't think we will be able to have this chance again. Liam Wong would probably show it off again after a year or two. We don't have a lot of chances to grab other than this.
We went home after that tour in the museum and explaining him things so he would get an idea about what he was going to do.
THE NEXT DAY
Since our duty in the cafe is 9 am to 4 pm and my duty in the bar is 4 pm to 6 pm, I sneaked into his room only to find out that he isn't sleeping at all. I saw him staring blankly at the ceiling like he was thinking of something very important.
"We're going somewhere," I said after clearing my throat to catch his attention. He stared at me for a short while before standing up and I felt kind of weird because of it. I took the clothes that I washed up last night and gave them all to him. "Y-you can wear this after taking the shower. It's there." I pointed at my shower. My room is the only room that has a shower in it. The girls in the other rooms are sharing one bathroom and I will be sharing it with them today. He stared at me for a very short time again and I almost asked him not to do that if he didn't enter the shower right away. It feels very weird being watched.
I went out of the room with my head tilted and kept asking myself why he was doing that until I finished my bath. I get so bothered about useless things these days. But it does feel so weird-- his gaze feels so weird to me.
I went out with my work clothes and a towel on my head. I don't use blow dryers, unlike Leslie and Julie. I find it a hassle. I went to the kitchen and prepared breakfast for both of us. During this time, the two of them are still asleep since their duty ends at 2 am. Their working time is shorter than mine but is harder. It's not easy to be awake during bedtime.
I cooked eggs and hotdogs which are my usual breakfast before going to work. He went out wearing the white shirt that I bought for him and faded jeans. I could put shades on his face to make the look complete. It's like he's not going to work at all, he looks like he's off to a beach party. I gulped, I shouldn't have bought him those clothes. "Let's eat."
He sat on the seat in front of me and stared at the food. The weirdest part of him staring at something is that he's not saying anything and just staring at it silently without you knowing what's going on in his mind. "It's hotdogs and fried eggs," I said as if he just asked for information about the food.
He slowly took the hotdog and tried it. I don't know why I am staring at him and thinking that I need to stop because he might find me weird. I ate silently because he did too. After a few minutes, I said something. "You will be working with me in the meantime. I'll teach you about all the work you'll be doing later. We need to arrive before 9 o'clock.
After eating and putting all the dishes in the sink, I went in and took my bag. When I went out of the room, he was already waiting for me outside. "Let's go," I said.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"The cafe," I answered and tried to remember if I didn't tell him that. But then he started walking toward me and my eyes widened. I looked around to see if anyone is there but in a blink of an eye, we arrived outside the bar. "Hey! You can't just do that anywhere! What if someone sees us?" I asked him. It almost shocked me to death. I looked around to see if anyone is there and good thing is that no one is there.
"I don't like walking too much like we did yesterday." He said and went into the bar by himself. I don't know where to be surprised, the fact that he wants in by himself or that he doesn't like walking too much?
I tilted my head before entering the bar and when I went in, I saw how the other staffs look at him with amusement. As if he's the most beautiful thing on earth. But he's actually not.
"Good morning everyone, he's Alexander, a new waiter." I introduced him kindly. But he just stood up there like a dead-ass celebrity who's watching his fans look at him. I hit his arm with my elbow. He must at least say 'Hi'.
"H-hi?" he did what I wanted him to do but he seems not so sure about it. He doesn't seem to know what 'hi' means. Greetings, idiot. I smiled at everyone and pulled him to the locker room. "What did you just call me?" he asked me while I'm pulling him out there. I'll just introduce them one by one later.
"You have to greet everyone okay?" I said not answering his question.
"You called me an idiot?" he asked. I didn't say anything. I don't want to answer. "What does that mean?"
I stopped and almost laughed my ass out. I stopped myself from doing so and scoffed the thought out. I searched the whole locker room to see where his locker is and found out its two lockers away from mine. I saw the key outside the door and took it to open it. There I saw the uniform. "Wear this," I told him as I hand it to him. I almost lost myself and screamed when he started stripping right beside me. "WHAT THE-- NO!! IN THE COMFORT ROOM OKAY?"I shouted and pushed him into the male staff's comfort room. "Oh, My God." I can't believe he has the guts to do that or didn't even have the common sense that it's awkward. I went into the females' comfort room and changed into our uniform too. When I went out, I saw him struggling with the apron so I took it and put it on him. He looked at the uniform he was wearing he thinks it was weird but he needs to get used to it.
We went out and I toured him in the cafe. "You will be a waiter. You're going to deliver the for the costumers are asking. The others will be taking the customer's orders and some people will be making it for you to deliver it to the table." I explained the best I could. "But some customers will be calling you for assistance, you're going to ask them politely, okay?" I told him. I don't even know if he's able to be polite. He seems not to be able to do it.
A few minutes later, we opened and customers went in. I saw how he first delivered the order. The girls from the table asked him something but all he did was nod. When he went back to the counter, I asked him. "What did they ask you?"
"If I'm new here." He answered shortly. I nodded and went to the other table to take their orders. Those girls stayed in the cafe for a very long time and I kind of know why.
We spent days working before the event and two days before the most awaited event, I started worrying. He comes with me to work like a normal person. I still don't know what exactly is going to happen since we haven't talked about it again. I am worried that the plan won't work again. There's a lot going into my mind right now
And the anxiety I felt became stronger on the day of the event. I don't know why I am very nervous about it. I feel like it's not going to work.
