"Hachiman!" Hakai walked into his office, screaming his name with a fool's face.
"In the back shelves!" Hachiman's voice came over from behind the shelves of books lined up behind each other.
"What're you doing?" Hakai asked as he walked behind the desk and sat in Hachiman's private chair.
"Looking for something!" Hachiman shouted as several books and scrolls fell against the floor.
"Ohh? What is it about?" Hakai looked at a neatly placed brush pen on its stance. Then, opening the first drawer next to his right side, he took out a blank sheet of paper. He picked up the pen, dipped it into ink, and began drawing Hachiman as a monkey.
"Hee. Hee. He looks exactly like this." Hakai stuck out his tongue while drawing him in the most primitive way.
"He needs a tail." Hakai held out the drawing in front of himself. Hachiman came out of the shelves, holding two scrolls. They seemed essential and wrapped in a golden sleeve that had collected dust over time.
"What's that?" The pair simultaneously asked each other.
"Hmm, this?" Hakai said as he turned the paper around with a taunting smile, showing him his latest masterpiece. "Nothing, just my newest masterpiece of you." He leaned back into the chair and fell to the ground laughing like a maniac.
"You!" Hachiman lost his temper, holding back and calmly walking up to the desk. "Wait till you see a portrait of you, done by none other than me." Hachiman notified him, placing the scrolls down.
"Can't wait. can't wait!" Hakai placed his hand onto the desk, leveraging himself up while wiping the tears of laughter away.
"What's in the scrolls?" He asked as he picked up the chair and sat back down.
"A lot, and I'm going to give them to you if you want to understand the letter fully." Then, he proposed to the lazy Hakai while walking away and grappling small chair.
"Nah, cut to the chase." Hakai picked up the portrait of Hachiman and secretly placed it into his first drawer while he walked back.
"I figured..." Hachiman sighed while placing his seat close to the desk.
Slowly, he stretched one out and began to read, unwrapping the scrolls as he read along.
"If one desires to collect power, he must earn the esteem of others. So voyage along, and amass blessings of Gods. Their delightfulness in you may spark them to uphold your name in the highest of courts." So Hachiman read as Hakai stayed there patiently waiting for a more straightforward explanation.
"Get it?" Hachiman asked to make sure that Hakai took in all the information.
"Hmm, Nah. Not at all." Hakai shook his head with a fool's smile.
"Uhh." Hachiman sighed as if he had anticipated this. "Figured..." His head fell below his shoulders, signifying defeat. "You do this to taunt and prolong my pain, don't you?" He hit the nail.
"So...?" Hakai waited as Hachiman gave in.
"What it's implying is that, if a nameless, minor deity wishes to grow in power. Therefore, one needs to travel to numerous God's shrines, complete deeds for them, earn their respect, and given a blessing of sort and whatever else they have laying around to give out." Hachiman said, closing the scroll. "If they grow to like you, they can even support your name in the High Heavens Court. Sometimes, if you gather enough God, they can propose a pay raise or even a new blessing for your needs. Yet, that proposition's acceptance boils down to an investigation, then approval from the High Heavens." Hachiman explained his heart out as his face displayed an exhausted expression.
"Ohh! Do you support my name, Hachiman?" Hakai's head titled, asking in curiosity.
"Beats me." Hachiman stood and gave his back to Hakai. "As of now, only me genuinely knows the current you. So go out there, spread your name and do the deeds of other deities to amass power and new tools." Hachiman informed him while walking into the shelves to place the scroll away and leaving the unread scroll behind.
"Okay!" Hakai said, with a bit of excitement in his tone. "What's in this one?" Hakai pointed to the scroll, placing his chin on his other hand and his arm resting against the desk.
"Leave that alone. Wait till I come back." Hachiman told him, his voice fainting as he walked deeper.
"Hmm?" Hakai's curiosity grew as Hachiman's return took longer and longer by the minute.
Nip!
He bit his lower lip, waiting.
"Oi! Hachiman, can't wait any longer!" He exclaimed, smashing his hands on the desk.
"I'm back." Hachiman appeared behind the shelve.
"Wshwshwsh!" Hakai created a new language, thinking that Hachiman was teasing him. "Freaking monkey."
"You're the monkey one here, with excitement and curiosity building up like that." Hachiman sat back in his seat, trying to hold back laughter.
"Shaddup!" Hakai sat back down, crossing his arms while a fume came out of his head.
"You want to know what this scroll contains?" Hachiman pulled the sliver scroll from the dirty wrap.
"Hmm. Hmm." Hakai nodded as the fumes went away. He smacked his hands into the desk and watched over Hachiman.
"Well, sit down," Hachiman ordered, hiding the scroll against his chest.
"Okay." Hakai immediately sat back down.
"The scroll contains a blue Kimono jacket, black momohiki pants, and kyahan leg wraps with strapped blue flip-flops designed specifically for you." Hachiman smiled as the attire appeared out of the scroll.
"Woah!" Hakai's eyes glittered as he admired the unique Kimono jacket his rival had made for him.
Hachiman smiled and handed the attire to him with both hands, bowing slightly down, seated.
"Ohh!" Hakai seemed so excited that he immediately started to inspect it.
"Hakaishin." He read the kanji term on the back of the shirt, and a spiral symbol was on his right shoulder.
"Cool!" Hakai stood up, taking off the hoodie he took from Hachiman and placing the Kimono jacket on top of his plain black sleeveless shirt. Next, he took off his blue jeans and revealed his underwear to Hachiman.
"No!" Hachiman squealed, turning around.
"Hee, hee." Hakai giggled, putting on the black momohiki pants. Then, he put on the kyahan with blue leg straps. Finally, wearing the last piece, the blue flip-flops with excitement oozing out of him.
"How's it look?" He did a complete three-sixty for Hachiman, who finally turned around, looking at Hakai's new outfit.
"Suits you." He gave him a thumbs up with a bit of smirk.
"Thanks, I will cherish it!" Hakai said while looking back and pointing his thumb to the print.
"Hmm, no problem. This Kimono attire is my gift to you. With this, every deity you cross will know of your title. Make sure to introduce yourself. Fight, bleed, and gain power and notoriety amongst the Gods." Hachiman crossed his arms, telling his rival that he needed to gain more power.
"The signs of war are on us. Your powers and might are needed. I believe in you. However, do not push your luck and body to the limit. Rest well and eat, do not mistreat this vessel like the last one, Hakai God." Hachiman opened his eyes. Hakai turned around and faced him with a severe expression.
"I will, and I will come back stronger than you." Hakai stretched out his right hand, smirking with confidence.
"I will be waiting..." Hachiman shook his hand with his left hand, smirking with confidence.
"Brother..." Hachiman whispered while looking deep into Hakai's eyes.
