Chapter 60 - Chapter 58: Unknowing Ends

Wham!

Hakai appeared inside the shrine. The portal connects to multiple existing routes, as stated by Hachiman. However, he only allows the use of two of them. The outer route resides outside of the shrine. The inner route, which exists within the shrine, is in the main room.

"Well, now. Time to establish what I have lost." He looked out to the door with a severe expression. "I guess that old keeper isn't here today." He said to himself, remembering a stone falling towards his face.

"As we speak now, he ventures beyond seeking power. His old self is to be feared and worshiped even amongst the Gods!" A figure dressed and hidden behind a torn-up white cloak floating in the air spoke to the knights of heaven.

"His power and will to dominate the cycle of the universe and turn into his own idea of peace is inevitable."

"He is the governor, the ruler, and the judgment of Destruction. His power rivals that of us, The High Heavenly Gods." He continued to inform them about a being powerful enough to be targeted by the heavens.

"For centuries, he will remain a threat. But, as long as his power calls to its host, it will undoubtedly return." He raised his cane into the ceiling, and a glimmering light began to shine. A live feed of Hakai walking throughout the busy streets of Tokyo projected, and the God behind the cloak left the knights with parting words.

"Do not allow him to regain his old power. But, my children, our judgment and plan are yet to finalize. However, do not anger him nor cross paths. Keep still, and we will break him down to be a weapon for the Heavens."

They were left in shock, gasping for air. The knights felt a shudder of fear, knowing that Hakai walked across thin ice. His trajectory was unknown, yet, his heart was keen on being a peaceful being that used his title to expand the universe.

"Yo, Tennyo-Chan!" Hakai constipated himself in the middle of a crowd that passed him by—trying to link himself to Tennyo neuronally.

Finally, shouting into the sky in frustration. "Tennyo-Chan!"

"Yes, my lord?" A voice came into his head after a few.

"I've missed your voice! Oh my, who would've thought the low-paying department would be missed by me so much" He tried to blame them and get a raise simultaneously secretly.

"I have not reported this to The High Heavens. I plan not to. However, will I still get paid for completing the mission assigned to me by other Gods?" He asked an angel working for the heavens nonchalantly.

"Hmm, well, it depends on the mission and its assigned rank," Tennyo explained.

"Missions are assigned grades too?" He asked, confused.

"Yes, the new manual explains this in detail. Have you taken a look, Lord Hakaiii..." Tennyo figured that Hakai was too much of a fool to consider examining the new scrolls.

"Hehe." He laughed awkwardly, changing the subject. "how have you been?"

"Lord Hakai, please don't dodge the question." She sighed over the link.

"Tennyo-Chann! Have you taken a look at how long the scrolls are!" He complained as usual.

"Hmm, I do understand. But, first, you must read the scrolls to grasp the new ranking system, my lord." Her tone lowered as if she had gone through this a million times.

"Will do. Will do!" He repeated as he threw his arms behind his head.

"I will take your word on that." She accepted her fate.

"To answer your question, if a mission consists of expelling negative energy users and those serving the rulers of the underworld, then yes. Depending on the threats' rank and deciding factors listed in the scrolls." She explained the topic in the simplest of ways.

"Ohh! Great, great. What about a raise?" He seemed to skip over her words, only to ask for more money.

"My lord, it is wrong to be greedy." She scolded him in her soft tone.

"Uhh, no fun!" He complained, sagging his arms by his hips and making an idiotic-exhausted expression.

"Well, lord Hakai, I will take my leave. Bye-bye for now." She informed him, followed by a chuckle as the connection severed.

"Ehh. No raise, huh?" He said to himself as he remembered a vital asset. "I wonder what Mai-San is doing...?" His eyes glittered as he jumped onto a roof and vanished into the open sky.
