Chapter 38 - Chapter 36: Suicidal Tendency

"Yes, lord Hakai?" Tennyo answered the mental message.

"How are you? How are you?" He asked her swinging his feet off the skyscraper.

"I'm quite well, and yourself?" Tennyo surprisingly carried the conversation.

"Woah!" Hakai's eyes sparkled with joy. "You're carrying the conversation!" He shouted in excitement, holding his balled fists under his chin. Tennyo giggled. "I'm okay." He smiled with a sad expression. "How are you?" He asked her as he placed his hand behind himself, leaning back and staring into the specs of light emitting from distant stars, blocked by light pollution.

"I'm doing just fine." She answered him with what sounded like a smile over the transmitter. "So, how can I be at your service?" She asked him. Her mature and straightforward tone was just as soothing as ever.

"I have a report to submit," Hakai informed her, his voice wined down.

"Hmm, whenever you're ready." She noted.

Hakai took a deep breath, his eyes narrowed. "While on patrol, I sensed negative energy emitting from Suginami City. I picked on two evil spirits, believing they would fuse by my arrival. However..." He said as he took another deep breath, exhaling slowly.

"What is it?" She asked him after a bit of silence set in.

"When I arrived in Suginami City, I sensed different sinister energy, although it seemed suppressed." He said as his eyes narrowed, focusing on one star that radiated bright enough to peek through the sky. "Arriving on scene, the two spirits were standing there, stationary and on guard." He said as he raised his hand to the star, trying to reach it.

"Suppressed negative energy and phantoms on guard?" She repeated as if this news was also new to her.

"Hmm, while fighting the two F-ranked spirits, while on losing grounds, they still wouldn't fuse. When investigating the suppressed negative energy, I encountered the New Type Phantom. He named himself Jisatsukeikō. Instead of merging with the human and transferring evil deeds and negative emotions, he was able to talk her into them, almost bullying and forcing." Hakai said as he closed and opened his fist. "I don't know if this applies to all New Types, but he was able to mold weapons from the base of his palm." He informed Tennyo as he placed his hand down." His regeneration abilities were relatively enhanced, but that's not what stood out for me in this guy. Apart from speech and containing a human core, he suppressed negative energy, although not by much. After he slowly vanished into nothingness, the human ore also lost its signature." Hakai said with teary eyes as he stood up. "I don't know what you will make of this, but please do so any information you can give me later on," Hakai told her as he placed his hands into his pockets.

"Yes, I will do my best, lord Hakai. I will relay the report to the Sovereigns of High Heavens immediately." Tennyo said as the transmitter picked up the noise of a scroll closing. "Hey, I noticed something familiar, the New Type. If you separate his name in two halves, it comes to Jisatsu-keikō, which means suicidal tendency." She informed him, prompting him to think.

"He did mention a lot about suicide, and his main goal was to drive the human into suicide!" He shouted as he wiped away his tears. "He mentioned he wanted to die but couldn't; weird, really weird," Hakai said, scratching his chin.

"Thanks. I will keep you up to date if anything comes out!" She said in a hurry.

"Hmm, thanks..."

The Anglic messenger ended the transmission before Hakai could ask for his reward.

"Uhh, Tennyo-Chan?"

"Hello?"

"Where'd you go, Tennyo-Chan! My rewards, I need them!" He shouted out loud.

Hakai walked on the busy inner hidden side of Tokyo. Small stalls and walk-in Izakaya flooded with people in the middle of the night. "Looks delicious!" He stared inside, watching as several friends dug into their food.

"Hey, pass me some Yakitori." One friend asked as Hakai stood outside watching.

"Here."

The night was still young, and the crowd only grew, prompting Hakai to believe that an attack of any size could occur. Wanting to be close to such events, he jumped atop of building's roof, enjoying a better view. He sat down and only heard his stomach growl in anger.

"Huh? I'm hungry?" He asked himself as a thought arose. "I wonder what Mai-San is doing right now!" He said, leaning back in a wishful manner. "I doubt anything stormy will happen here, and even if something ensues, I would be on the scene in a flash!" He said to himself, standing up, buff chested. He leaped onto the roof of the next building. "I wanna see her!" He told himself with a slight blushed smile.
