"Chik." Hachiman grounded his teeth, holding back his emotions. He needed answers and was not willing to explode at the pair yet. "I said, who is the mastermind behind this?" He asked the team again while closing his teary eyes.
"I-I... Arrif, jump!" Lum directed Arrif as he jumped off through the window.
"Alright!" He followed Lum, jumping through the window and into the street. Running behind him, he caught up, and Lum laid out the plan. "Listen, that is a God. Overwhelmingly powerful for us, we need to get away." He informed him while sheathing his sword in his back-mounted case.
With his two pairs of legs, Lum leaped away, and while in the air, he demanded that Ariff follows. "Jump!" He shouted.
"Yes, sir!" The thought of ranks automatically established in Arrif's mind. Phantoms are unnatural beings born from negativity. The phantoms, since creation, will be mentally programmed to their creator's rules, and as he wishes, he implements ranks throughout his army. "Lum is higher ranked than me. So I have to follow his bullshit!" He complained in his mindscape while leaping forward.
However, Hachiman wasted their effort, appearing instantly behind them. He grabbed the pair by their ankle and shot them down to the ground with slight force.
Bam!
The hard concrete sidewalk split open in two places of impact. "Hah." The phantoms groaned as they got up from the ground. Standing up, Ariff held his dizzy head. "So quick!" He commented while looking over to see if Lum had survived as well. "Yo, what now?" He asked as he looked up, unaware that Hachiman was shooting in his direction through the sky at incredible speeds. "Shit!" He said while barely managing to jump away from Hachiman's stomp.
Boom!
Hachiman crushed the ground with his impact. "Oi, you filthy beings, answer me. Who is your master?" He asked the pair again while slowly lifting his head to stare at the utterly scared Arrif.
"It's-" Arrif seemed indecisive to answer his question. "It's lord-!" Lum shut him down.
"Keep your mouth closed!" He shouted at Arrif in anger.
Hachiman appeared out of nowhere as Lum finished talking, grabbing him by the throat and flying upwards. "Tell me, evil being, what are you so inclined in keeping a secret." Hachiman held him close by his face.
"My lord will punish the heavens," Lum declared with an utter disgusting grin.
"Then, I shall take you down with your lord," Hachiman stated as he flew out of the city.
Boom!
He crashed into a hill, crumbling the side of it into pieces. Then, while flying back towards the crushed hill, he dragged Lum's armless, upper body through the side of it.
"Gah!" He groaned in agony, blood flooding from his mouth and body. Then, his automatic regeneration process began.
Shhef!
His body released steam from the injuries and missing limbs.
"Filth," Hachiman said as he threw him up into the sky, high in the air. The spear of Battle appeared in Hachiman's left hand. Flying up in his trail, he pierced the spirit in the heart and quickly enchanted. "Vanish." A spell that the caster deals a fatal blow to a phantom, effectively annihilating it. Performed jointly by gods and their sacred weapons.
A massive spell circle appeared behind the spirit, and above it, a much larger wheel of divine writing appeared, extinguishing the spirit to nothingness.
"Now, the recently born phantom seems rather soft to break," Hachiman said as his eyes glowed blue. Then, angry, his patience ran low.
Boof!
He broke the speed of sound while flying back into Tokyo.
"Get away, Ariff, get away!" Arrif said to himself as he ran with his injuries. Then, running into a dark alley, he felt sudden shivers run up his spine. He looked back slowly. His long legs fell to the ground, realizing Hachiman was standing at the entrance. "I'm screwed!" He uttered the realization of the power this person harbored in front of him. "So, this is the power of a God." He spoke while lifting three arms into the sky, almost loving.
"Yo, yo. This is unfair!" He screamed, dropping his arms down by his sides.
"Maybe," Hachiman said as he walked up to him. "Answer me, what are you?" Hachiman asked him with irritation.
"Well, well. I'm no match for a God." Arrif shrugged his shoulders with a defeated smirk.
