Chapter 18 - Inheritance

The most important thing for now was to design a plan. Without a plan, he won't be able to do anything; after all, not everyone can luck out in situations.

They have to prepare for it to gain good returns.

Therefore, his number 1 priority for now was to collect his thoughts and design a plan.

The first step would be obviously to draft out the situation. So, he did it on a piece of paper.

...

"10049 / 10 / 09 - parents didn't come. A day after that, on 10th, a government official came, notifying me of their deaths. The badge he was wearing was from the military and no small organization should be able to replicate it. Even if they have stolen it, there's no reason for them to intentionally do that just to meet me.

The attitude of the official was clear and he wasn't trying to make me sign anything. With the number of deaths in that monster attack, it is inevitable that they are in a hurry. Therefore, they obviously wouldn't pay attention to me, a kid who is barely of age to receive his parents' inheritance.

So, the sequence of events was reasonable and without any loopholes.

With the resources at home, I have enough until Monday. I also have my personal earnings so it will be okay. When I get the money, I can then decide on what to do next. The following choice should depend on how much money I will inherit."

With that, Kirt ended the notes and read it several times. Although they were very simple and not much happened, it was still important to do so.

...

With the usual lackluster life Kirt led, he had spent 3 whole days playing God's Lore.

He really had no wish to do anything right now. So, he didn't even sleep nor take any refreshing pills for two days straight, playing all the time.

As Kirt looked at the giant monster in front of him, he motioned the character to attack it ruthlessly. For this, he especially used a bow character named Gik, the 5* that was very good at bows.

Although he was considered not much good, with the enhancements Kirt made, he had undoubtedly become one of his main characters. After all, he only had one 6* which was the Death Doctor Thyseis.

All the other loregems he acquired had been saved for him to get Pluto.

Kirt then fired a rain of arrows at the monster as he blankly watched it get beaten up by his character.

And just as he was about to kill it off did he hear an alarm ring in his ears.

"Alarm?... Has it already become 11 pm of Sunday?" putting down his phone, Kirt placed his hands onto his face before taking a sigh.

"A person should be coming for me on Monday and since it concerns matters related to inheritance, I should have an automatic day off from the school. A message came to me on Friday and it indeed said such things"

'For now, I should probably quit the game for a while and enter the dark realm to regain my spirit'

With that thought in mind, Kirt shut off his phone and then willed himself to get out of his physical body and enter the dark realm.

Once he was inside, he suddenly felt calm. Very calm without being affected by any other outside influences.

If said metaphorically, he felt like a steady sea cliff that had faced the hardships of strong tidal waves since ancient times. Being in this state made him peaceful, and clear headed, allowing him to once again be in control of the situation.

'Who knew the dark realm had such a quality. Perhaps, I knew but I just didn't have the initial determination to and after realizing the urgency of time, I finally had the determination to enter.'

'No... it wasn't determination. Just a hasty decision made by me in order to escape from my suffering'

This had undoubtedly solidified his opinion of one matter once again.

...

The next morning, Kirt woke up from his sleep at exactly 5 AM.

He proceeded to get out from his bed, eat his breakfast and read a book for a while before wearing his clothes. Then, he entered the bathroom and took a look at himself and the expressions he was making before getting out.

It was 6 AM by the time the government official came.

The official was dressed in a black robe and had silver-rimmed glasses on his face. He was quite young.

"Are you Kirt Kouteli?" the person asked in a blank manner.

"Yes" I answered back with a somewhat rough voice with my eyes dark and blank, just as if it was dead.

"Then follow me. I'm from the government to settle your inheritance" the person was just a little stirred from my answer and the look in my eyes before he began leading me downwards.

As I closed the door, it automatically got locked.

I followed the man into the elevator and headed down the building along with him.

On the way, Eyles couldn't help but take a sigh inside himself and think, 'What a pitiful child. Having been left alone in this world at such a young age...' . The boy reminded him of a lifeless person having lost all purpose.

It wasn't long before the elevator came to its destination and he led Kirt to another apartment.

Surprisingly, there was a child just like him within this apartment building.

What answered the door was a girl around the same age as him.

She had loosely let long blond hair and was currently wearing a black suit just like Kirt. The black suit wasn't like that of official things, instead, it was more of a general clothing children wore in the Nation of the Phoenix for attending matters such as this.

It was entirely black in color and was just like the business clothing except there were no white shirts nor ties and the clothes didn't limit movement much.

Besides the suit, the girl was currently also wearing a bracelet. It was a striking red bracelet that was just red in color. It matched perfectly with her thin and slim figure. Her eyes were still red, and it was obvious she still mourned for her parents' deaths.

"Are you Hale Coelt?" Eyles asked, this time his expression and words softer after seeing the more obvious signs of the girl.

"Yes" the girl answered weakly before also following Eyles.

Soon, the three of them left the building and entered the bus-like vehicle that was waiting for them outside.
